Like a feverish sweat, uneasy rumors seep through Ravnica's pores, its manor windows, its sewer grates, its market stalls. Signs of tension between the guilds become more frequent, from assassinations and arrests to the subtle stockpiling of resources and moves to control strategic points. Some speak of a war to come, and some claim it has already begun. You have seen firsthand the clashes between the two guilds that you deal with, but it is up to your kind to keep the balance between the guilds. Not only will this help preserve the peace on Ravnica, it will ensure your future as a useful agent. You need to show your guilds how they can work together.
Round 2 Challenge -
Create a tight pair of uncommons within the colors of your two guilds. A tight pair means they have identical costs and are mechanically very close. They should be mirrored along your central color, for example, if you chose and :selesnya:, you could have two W cards, a R card and a G card, or a RW card and a GW card, but NOT a R card and a W card. Flavorfully, these cards should work together rather than against each other.
Existing tight pair examples: Triumph of Cruelty and Triumph of Ferocity Disciple of Law and Disciple of Grace White Knight and Black Knight (don't make cards like this that work against each other)
The Card Creation League is a monthly contest in which players compete over seven rounds. Each month has an overall theme and/or story, determined by that month's host.
Each round, the host will assign a card creation task to the players. This task may vary between teams or players.
The first three rounds are open to everyone who joined in the sign-up thread, which will be posted near the end of the previous month. After these rounds, the Top 8 players will move on to three elimination rounds to determine a winner.
Rounds usually last three to four days for submissions and about two days for critiques, but the host has final say in making the schedule.
For the first three rounds, players are divided into teams. Four teams is standard, but there may be more or less depending on the number of players. Each team will review another team's cards during the critique period of that round.
Each player must submit a Top 3 ranking for the team he or she critiques at the end of each round. Each 1st place is worth 3 points, 2nd place 2 points, and 3rd place 1 point.
Additionally, each player can receive 2 bonus points per round. One point is awarded for posting a Top 3, and one point for providing critiques for that team's cards.
Suggested areas to critique include creativity, balance, printability, and relation to the overall theme or that player's previous cards.
Players who do not post a card or a Top 3 will be put on "probation." Top 3 violations for a round can be removed by posting or PMing the host with your Top 3 before the end of the next round. Any player that would receive a second violation is disqualified from further competition that month.
At the end of the first three rounds, the Top 8 players will be selected by points (usually the top 2 from each team). In the case of ties, there may be more than 8 players advancing. The suggested scoring method is for each player to critique all remaining players in the same Top 3 style as the first three rounds, with the top half advancing each round, so Top 8, then Top 4, then Finals.
The final round is determined by public poll.
Prior to Top 8, players have a chance of getting a total of 100 points toward their score each Scoring Round. Scores for each Round are determined by the following equation:
Total points of Player A in round N = 100 * X/Y, where:
X = Total number of Scoring Points (Judge Points + Additional Points from Top 3 & Critiques)
Y = Total number of Possible Points (3 * Number of Judges + Additional Points)
3 points are given for a First Place Top 3 finish, 2 points for a Second Place, and 1 point for a Third Place. 1 additional point is awarded if a Top 3 is submitted. 1 additional point is awarded if Critiques are given for all entries to be judged.
This way the grading is more streamlined in the fact that all rounds prior to Top 8 are graded equally, and there is no handicap for any team that has fewer judges.
Each player accumulates points from each Scoring Round until the end of Round 3.

Round 2: A Deal Is Struck
The elven biomancer was unnerved by the hooded figure in front of him. His hands were pale, but if you looked closer you could see the slight sheen of scales. Every time he moved his booted feet you could see a slight ripple as if something were living under there. He clasped his hands as he said “ Even if what you say is true, I’m not sure I trust the source.”
“ You don’t have to.” The hooded figure said as he placed a dark blue vial next to the elf “ Trust the results.” The elf took the vial and inserted a small needle inside and withdrew some of the serum inside and injected it into the pod. He waited as the magic fluids inside the pod began to activate as before his eyes the form began to take shape, it’s lower half fluid ,graceful, like a fish. It upper half strong, its arms ending in clawed hands, it’s head filled with razor sharp teeth. It opened it’s eyes opened as it looked out with predatory black eyes.
“Astounding.”
“ Indeed, smart and fast growing, one vial will give you 12 of these, more than enough to defend your breeding pools aginst Gruul clan raids.” The hooded figure said walking toward the elf “ we can provide you with as much of this as you can handle.”
“ What do the Dimir get out of this?” the elf questioned
“ Think of it as a sign of mutual cooperation in these troubling times, do we have a deal?” The hooded figure said extending his hand out, the elf paused for a moment, then shook it. Card 1

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may remove any number of +1/+1 counters from target creature you control. If you do, put a X/X blue Fish Mutant creature token onto the battlefield under your control, X being equal to the number of +1/+1 counters removed. With each new experiment, our numbers grow.
The Boros Wojek grumbled as he walked around a large puddle. Ever since those damn Zodnots had opened up they were popping up every where. He was about to continue on his patrol when he heard a noise. His head whipped around, and he saw nothing. He hear another noise and whipped around again, this time drawing his weapon. Still nothing… he kept his guard and slowly turned in a circle…
Then out of the puddle shot out a strange creature that leapt and grabbed the wojek, as he struggled, he felt the creature arms constricting him tighter and tighter as it oped it’s mouth revealing sharp teeth and a very odd needle tipped tongue. It’s tongue shot out, as it burrowed into the Wojek’s ear, the Wojek didn’t have time to cream as he felt his very memories being sucked out by the creature and the shock and pain made him go limp, and the creature dragged it back into the underwater tunnel disguised as a puddle.
After it had eaten the wojek, it soon began to swim again, to where it was compelled to go, finally popping up in the Undercity, slowly making it’s way to a dark room, on instinct it climbed up on the table in the dark room and then lay there. From the shadows a pale vampire emerged muttering dark and profane words as the creature opened it’s mouth and the Wojek’s memories floated up and were absorbed by the vampire, as the creature itself soon collapsed, dead from the strain of the ritual.
“Interesting, the League of Wojek's patrol schedule for the next few weeks....all extracted the head of one simple minded solider . It seems you were right.” the vampire turned to it's hidden collaborator
From the shadows the hooded figure emerged “ Of course I was, the creatures have our telepathic triggers ingrained into their DNA thanks to the simic biomancy. They get ferocious and fast growing numbers for their cause, meanwhile you have agents, able to move through the underground, drain their preys memories, and eat the evidence.”
The hooded figure chuckled as he looked at the now dead krasis " Everybody's happy."

I'm a proud member of the Online Campaign for Real English. If you believe in capital letters, correct spelling, and good sentence structure, then copy this into your signature.
You should try to include three things in your post in this order of importance:
1 - The guilds you chose (necessary to judge if you performed the challenge correctly)
2 - Your team name (useful for judging)
3 - Your Round 1 card (not specifically called on in this challenge, but it's nice to see the cumulative vision for the guild overlap you have)
Sorry if I didn't provide enough RP prompting this time, if anyone wants to RP, show how your guilds have come into conflict and how your cards are convincing them to work together. Thanks!

I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

I'm a proud member of the Online Campaign for Real English. If you believe in capital letters, correct spelling, and good sentence structure, then copy this into your signature.
Thanks!
