A young knight set out from Bogardan, inspiring his comrades to unite and control their lands. His quest led them far from home, through the Spice Isles to the shattered continent of Terisiare. There, in the ruins of the capital of ancient Kjeldor, he faced unspeakable horrors to obtain the Enchanter's Staff. When he reached it, he could finally hear the voice that had been calling in his dreams...
On Otaria, a glowering beast set out with its pack, bent on reprisal. It crossed the oceans with the aid of the Cephalids, ending up in the icy north, near Keld. It dodged the attacks of an angelic guardian to burst into the inner sanctum. The weapon finally lay before it, and tendrils of shadow whispered dark suggestions for how it might be used...
In another part of Otaria, a cleric strengthened the bonds of his people by promising to lead them to the Matter Generator. They traveled along the southern coast of Jamuraa, through the Bay of Pearls, then into the stormy seas where Tolaria once lay. On the ruined isles, they faced a contigent of elves from Fyndhorn, and emerged victorious. With the Generator, they discovered a living journal, whose words seemed to converse with them from beyond the ages...
Each of you has found the possession of a dead planeswalker from Dominarian history. The ghosts of these planeswalkers instruct you in the use of their relics, then fade, leaving you empowered to rule in your new domains.
Final Challenge
You will each create a planeswalker card for a dead planeswalker, a legendary creature card to represent your final form, and a plane card to represent the realm you forge.
Arcel - Kristina of the Woods appears to teach you about the Enchanter's Staff. She is green. Create her, then a red-green legendary version of your Round 1 creature.
Big_Cal - Tevesh Szat's shade lies in wait for you. He is black. Your legend will be black-green.
Ninja Caterpie - Commodore Guff has left instructions for the Matter Generator. He is white, so his teachings will make you black-white.
The plane cards can either represent the areas you ended up in, or you can return to your home area and make a card there.
In short, this was a pretty traditional final - the players transformed their sign-up creatures into legends using their new mechanics, evoked the spirits of a few dead planeswalkers, and created plane cards to show their new realms on Dominaria.
Finally, we had prepared enough to approach the library, taken all precautions we could to protect ourselves from the horrible fate the scouts suffered when they ventured here. I came with a pair of my best men in tow, in case anything unexpected should happen, though I didn't think anything living would be of bother in this forsaken place.
As we entered the library, the stench from within was noxious, it was clear much had died within these walls. As we pushed onward into the library to locate the staff, I couldn't help but glance at some of the books, bringing the party to a stop temporarily as I attempted to remove a book from a shelf. I was shocked as not only the book I went to grab collapsed, but every book on the shelf seemed to break apart into dust at my touch of this one.
I didn't have time to dwell on it, as one of my colleagues cried out. I turned to see him writhing in pain. Though we had no time to help him as one of the dead bodies surrounding us... grabbed him and started to claw at him.
All around the library, the rotting flesh and bones gathered together to form a massive beast of undeath, of such terrifying form that neither I nor my other companion could react, I only snapping out of my stupor when my friend was crushed by the creature as he tried to flee.
I ran for it, heading deeper and deeper into the massive library, all in an attempt to escape the horrible creature now perusing me. I dashed into a side chamber and closed the door, falling to the ground and remaining silent. I heard the creature move past as it searched for me in this forsaken place. The creature remained outside the door, as if it could sense me, but didn't quiet know where I was.
I thought I was about to perish, when I heard it, that voice, that angelic voice from beyond. I had not realized it at first, but as I turned, it became clear, the goal I had been after all this time now lay before me, the lost Enchanters Staff. As I reached for it, the voice became clearer then it had ever been before, not only that, I could see her, that angelic beauty. She spoke, and for once I could finally respond, and speak with her. So many things she taught me in what felt like an eternity, but in truth lasted a few seconds. She showed how the volcanoes I had grown up with, that I knew were full of the burning power of fury and destruction, also were vital in bringing in the renewal of life and nature, the great cycle I had been blind to see before.
When it was finished, I was a transformed man, taking the staff in hand, filled once more with renewed vigor, I turned back towards the library I had never left. Staff in hand, I approached the door, and with a blast of magical might from my lessons, destroyed the accursed place through fire and lava, burning the creature and death of the place with it, and leaving behind the seeds of renewal so this accursed land would be born anew.
I returned to my place of birth, the Burning Isles, with me my new knowledge, powers, and gifts, and the promise of renewal and growth that came with them...
