Congratulations to Jimmy Groove for designing this month's featured card:
Magda of the ThornvineGG
Legendary Creature - Elven Druid (MR)
Whenever G is added to your mana pool, Magda of the Thornvine gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Though her posture was stooped, her skin wrinkled, her hair stringy, there were none more feared among the Irithi elves than Magda, for whom the briars themselves would rise in battle.

When you turn Cascade Invoker face-up, exile cards from the top of your library until you find a nonland card with converted mana cost 4 or less. You may cast that spell without paying its mana cost. If that spell does not have cascade, it has cascade. Put all exiled cards on the bottom of their owners' library at random.
Sorry this took so long, folks, but we received very few nominations this month. Please remember to nominate your favorite designs!
Starting with March, the card featured on the front page and given a thread in the Card of the Month area will be chosen from the entire Custom Card Creation forum. Any card posted from a custom set, design game, or even random design thread will be eligible to be featured. To be considered, the design simply needs to be nominated by PMing a link to the design location to Kraj. The rules are simple:
1. The card needs to have been originally posted in the month it is nominated for.
2. You can't nominate your own designs.
That's it. The card to feature will be chosen by Moss_Elemental, Kraj, and Shepherd from among the nominations. This way we will be able to showcase the best designs the site has to offer without limiting it to the end result of one game.
Please keep in mind that too many nominations will make this process unmanageable. Don't nominate everything you like, or every design you think is good; nominate designs that you see which are outstanding. A design doesn't need to be rendered to be nominated. If we choose a winner that doesn't have a render we will work with the designer to create one. We will accept nominations until the 5th of the following month.
If you have questions about the new feature card process, please PM Kraj.
Short answer: PM me.

Now i think it, I'm liking more and more your designs through time. Not a fan of the card, but I can see the brilliance and simplicity behind its design.
Great card, inventive and potentially exciting without being wordy. I also think it would have been cleaner if manaburn was still alive, but you can't be blamed for the change.
I can't bring myself to like the card due to it's highpower level. It simply seems too strong, and thus i don't think the design is that strong. The general concept is strong - mana in pool having additional effects - but the application is too strong.

Arrest this man he talks in math
The Tea Party is the working class fighting against the man fighting for the working class.
It's called EDH kids, there is no such thing as commander.
I can imagine this being a block mechanic. Great design.
Really a powerful effect, and depending on the environment, could push it over the edge.
I agree it should not be mythic.
I really love this card and it is perhaps my favorite COTM winner since I have been following it, 2+ years. If examined outside a vacuum with standard or extended cards I think it is too powerful. I think that if the G could only come from lands it would maintain a high power level and interesting interactions without being overly abusable.
I think the solution of "whenever you tap a land for green mana" would fix this cards powerlevel to just about perfect. if you curve out shes a 3/4 on turn 3, 4/5 on turn 4 which is a house, but no different than awakener druid and just as fragile defensively. Also in order to use her offencivly and still cast spells you have to cast in the first main phase giving your opponent more information, and since its a triggered ability, shes still vulnerable to instant speed burn. amazingly balanced card and beautiful design imo.
It's understandable blue control players would be shocked and in denial at the notion of this card, since their decks have been dominating multiple formats for an eternity yet they've curiously never once had to deal with any counter-hosers that weren't ineffectual, narrow CRAP.
Looking back in hindsight with the various combos and the like, I think he wording I would have gone with would be:
"Magda gets +1/+1 for each G in your mana pool.
Your mana pool only empties at the end of your end step."
That would preserve the idea that she is directly powered by green mana itself, while letting you have mana floating in your combat phases without having it then and waste it. That wording is still a bit weaker most of the time because if you cast a spell in the second main phase she gets weak in time for instant burn to hit her.
