Welcome to the Card Creation League! Everyone is free to participate in either or both of the first two rounds. Come join us!
Theme
It's Puzzles and Patterns Month here in the CCL.
Challenge
Design a monocolor card with mana symbols of exactly two other colors in its text, or a two-colored card with mana symbols of exactly one other color in its text.
Make sure to include a rarity.
Examples of valid entries: A card that costs 1R and adds GW; a card that costs 4UUB and has an ability that costs RRR.
PLEASE NOTE: This month will NO LONGER use the "mandatory top 3" rule. Critiques and top 3s will each be worth one bonus point per round but it will be possible to score points and advance even without submitting a top 3. This will also be done on a trial basis; future months may once again require top 3s from contestants.
Winds of Erasure3RW

When Multivolver enters the battlefield, you gain 2 life for each time it was kicked with its W kicker.
3/3
Thoughtchaser1W
Creature - Elemental (U)
Flying
When Thoughtchaser enters the battlefield, draw a card if U was spent to cast it, and each opponent discards a card if B was spent to cast it.

Naya Battledruid1G
Creature - Cat Druid (u)
When Naya Battledruid attacks or blocks, add RW RW: Target creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Celebrating life goes hand in hand with defending it. May lillies adorn our heads and bloodstains adorn our pikes.
2/2
And that seems like plenty enough time - having not heard from BlackWaltz3 I'm going to assume they were unable to enter. Please critique and top 3 everyone else; you have until 23:59 Eastern on the 29th.
Critiques
Artorias / Multivolver: I initially considered a Volver as well, but then recalled that the key trait was that they could gain extra abilities which were memory headaches, especially if you only did one of the kickers. While you avoid that particular issue, the card otherwise feels uninspired. It could have been an Uncommon.
Subject16 / Thoughtchaser: The evoke costs needs to be at least 1UB. It is far too strong of card advantage on Turn 2 to be able to evoke this. I like the concept, but the execution needs more balancing. I do like that the mana cost restricts you to choosing one of the two modes, though I'd hazard a guess that WU would be the most common cost paid.
RaikouRider / Ascetic of Asha: A potential 5/5 with vigilance for GGGW is pretty boring, but the flexibility to mix in some looting at the cost of P/T gives this some potential. The other end of the spectrum, getting a 2/2 with vigilance while being able to triple loot seems excessive, until you look at Sift and its ilk.
kwanyeegor / Anafenza's Spymaster: While the Outlast cost on this card is reasonable for the effect of gaining two life and drawing a card at Instant speed (after blockers are declared), it is less so when it comes to cards like Abzan Battle Priest or Abzan Falconer. With just the first line of rules text, this vastly increases the power level of Outlast. Both lines? Far too much.
Hemlock / Naya Battledruid: I like that the mana generated has to be used immediately. I slightly dislike that the pump can boost any creature, not just itself.
Fajen Thygia / Soul of Unity: Templating issues aside ("Whenever a player taps a land to add G or U, you gain 1 life."), this card is... boring. A 3/7 with defender that can gain you life? Did you intentionally design the Rare that gets used as a drink coaster other than during Sealed tournaments? It's reasonable, and it touches on a design space not really utilized since the good old days.
Fajen Thygia: Pheres-band Centaurs shows 3/7 for 5 is possible at common. Tjis being a rare and having defender should be balanced with a powerful ability and the choice you made is a bit underwhelmong. This can indeed gain tons of life if left unchecked. The factbthat you can proactively gain life or do it incidentally is pretty interesting, and tye fact tjat it works on your opponents is good too, and amazingly annoying in commander, but I would have prefered if it triggered on opponent's and . The design is fine and powerful in what it does but a big wall that gains tons of life is a bit unexciting. Also 4W would look nicer and signal its potential a bit better.
kwanyegor: Outlast is an interedting ability, specially in limited, and tbe possibility of doing it instantly is very promising. That said, I feel the colors are a bit around. Black is not known for changing timing, that's in green and even white's domain. So selesnya with a black outlast might have looked better and even offer design choices (like adding a life payment tomit). I think a card and two life is a lot, I don't feel drawing a card is too powerful here because you are making very big compromises in deckbuilding to have it work, and it's a nice way to tie draw to a specific effect. Life should be cut, imo and a bit of tougness reduction would go a long way into balancing it for limited, but alas, this is a rare and getting tjis one in limited should feel like hitting the jackpot,
RaikouRaider: I like flexibility. For four, you can get a beefy 5/5, a 4/4 and a loot, a 3/3 and a careful study or a 2/2 and three loots. All are aweaome options. In limited, the possibility of looting away excess lands is very valuablw, specially in 3-color enviroments that tend to up the land count a bit.
Subject16: I think that without the evoke cost, this would have been very good and flexible but by adding the evoke cost you kind of overdid it. The option of being an Elviah Visionary and a Ravenous Rats is good by itself, so the evoke cost that cheap for getting both effects is a bit much. Of course that tying it to casting mana goes a long way on avoiding recursion shenanigans.
Artorias- This feels undelwhelming for a rare. both multikicker costs are present on common creatures and the body is at common value. Still, tje Volver + multikicker idea is very cool.
Eventide sojourner: I feel tbat between the cycling effect and the actual effect the difference is rather minimal in terms of gameplay. You get a card and instant speed at blue for one more mana and things are not gone for good,
Hemlock - There's some formatting issues, like the flavor text not being in quotation marks, but we were both rushed. As to the card, this is one of the most aggressively costed 3/3's I've seen. Gatherer has 39 3/3 creatures for two mana, and this compares favorably with most of them. It's definitely the strongest one with colorless mana in the cost. The out-of-combat-two-toughness is not insignificant, but the flexibility and potential more than make up for that. I wish this cost GG; it would be more in line with what WotC has printed, and create a nice internal tension. I do like the interactions with cards like Yeva that gives creatures flash.
Artorias - I have a soft spot for volvers, and I like the idea of multikicker on one, although the 4 CMC is going to really hamper that. Both options feel weak to me, but I do also have a tendency to undervalue those abilities, so maybe they're fine.
RaikouRider - Fantastic. Wonderfully versatile and balanced. I love the choices this would bring to each game.
Subject16 - I love the interactions; it's a very clever card. I'm not sure that making Unhinge / Mind Ravel gold is enough of a downside to make it a turn two play. What really worries me is how much easier it is to recur creatures than spells. The creature side of the card is perfectly reasonable.
Eventide Sojourner - Making Upheaval instant speed, harder to counter, and cantrip is giving me flashbacks. Power creep definitely demands at least some of that, but all three? I like the other half of the card, and I'm a little surprised it hasn't already happened.
kwanyeegor - That...is a lot of card draw. Making outlast instant speed is good on it's own, and something I'd like to see on a real card. Adding the card draw to all your creatures feels like too much.
