The May MCC starts today, and we will need three judges including myself. Judge signups will remain open until the end of round 1. If you have never judged before, please post a judgment of the sample card using the official rubric. If you have judged before, please just post here to say you're willing.
Design - (X/3) Appeal: Do the different player psychographics (Timmy/Johhny/Spike) have a use for the card? (X/3) Elegance: Is the card easily understandable at a glance? Do all the flavor and mechanics combined as a whole make sense?
Development - (X/3) Viability: How well does the card fit into the color wheel? Does it break or bend the rules of the game? Is it the appropriate rarity? (X/3) Balance: Does the card have a power level appropriate for contemporary constructed/limited environments without breaking them? Does it play well in casual and multiplayer formats? Does it create or fit into a deck/archetype? Does it create an oppressive environment?
Creativity - (X/3) Uniqueness: Has a card like this ever been printed before? Does it use new mechanics, ideas, or design space? Does it combine old ideas in a new way? Overall, does it feel “fresh”? (X/3) Flavor: Does the name seem realistic for a card? Does the flavor text sound professional? Do all the flavor elements synch together to please Vorthos players?
Polish - (X/3) Quality: Points deducted for incorrect spelling, grammar, and templating. (X/2) *Main Challenge: Was the main challenge satisfied? Was it approached in a unique or interesting way? Does the card fit the intent of the challenge? (X/2) Subchallenges: One point awarded per satisfied subchallenge condition.
Total: X/25

I'll sign up to judge. I haven't done so in a terribly long time though, so I'll do a crit of this card.
Appeal: 2.5/3 - Timmy loves that it's big and evasive. Johnny loves cycling this turn 2 and setting up a reanimate effect. Spike likes the cheap mana-fixing, but he also wants an engine to slot it into, a la Living end before he gives it a second look. Elegance: 2/3 - There's nothing overly complex about this card, but it seems to try and fill two different yet completely opposite roles. The dual type landcycling creatures from Alara Reborn were just...okay, like you're expected to cycle them instead of cast them. This is a lot more than just okay.
Viability: 2/3 - Trample in black is pretty much reserved for demons, white doesn't have much either so this is a noticeable bend. Rare is pushed but I don't feel like it's bombastic enough to justify mythic. Balance: 3/3 - For six mana in pretty much any 60-card format, it had better win you the game pretty much on the spot. This certainly does the trick, and it'll be relevant in commander with the cycling/reanimation potential. It's powerful, but not TOO powerful.
Uniqueness: 3/3 - Landcycling has largely been untouched since its introduction, and it isn't that overpowered a mechanic. It's an interesting callback to the landcyclers of ARB, though at rare they're rightly a significant upgrade from the commons. Flavor: 1/3 - This is a card that needs flavor text BADLY. Vampire plus sun in almost every case equals very bad times for the vampire, so I'd like to know more about how it can carry the sun without getting dusted by it.
Quality: 3/3 - No issues here, good job ordering the abilities properly. Main Challenge: 2/2 - Main Challenge is met. Sub-Challenges: 2/2 - Both Subchallenges met.
Final Score: 20.5/25
