I'm looking for 4-8 players for this quick contest. Each round I'll post a new nefarious legendary creature. You yourselves will be portraying legendary characters, and coming up with in-character cards that will defeat the boss. You'll have 48 hours, and after that point I'll judge and score all your cards and the lowest scorer will be too injured by the boss to continue and will be knocked out of the contest. Winner is the last one standing!
I'll give 24 hours for signups; in order to sign up, just post a legendary creature or planeswalker card. Keep in mind you're ostensibly playing that character and I'll partially be judging your entries during the rounds by how in-character they are.

Legendary Creature - Human Wizard (R)

Are placeholder cards allowed (that is, can I post a card, noting that it's not my final submission unless the deadline passes (or I confirm it as such))? I ask in part because my weekends are spotty, so while I *should* be able to post more tomorrow, I can't guarantee it...
If allowed, here's my placeholder:
Natural Moonlight 1GG

Destroy target artifact or enchantment.
Until end of turn, if an artifact or enchantment would enter the battlefield and it wasn't cast, exile it instead.
Swarm's DescentXBB
Sorcery (Rare)
This spell costs 1 less to cast for each arthropod creature you control. (Spiders, insects, trilobites, blinkmoths and scorpions are arthropods.)
Non-arthropod creatures get -X/-X until end of turn. You gain X life. "Attune the rhythm of consumption. Our descendants shall sing hymns of this feast."
-Grosha, Swarm Caliph
Are we supposed to make it plain removal or combat tricks are allowed? Do we know how they attack or block or should we force them to do so?
If you want, you can assume the boss and any associated creatures are attacking you. However, you can make any kind of permanent or instant/sorcery thay would either mechanically or flavorfully "stop" the boss.
Two enemies? That's exactly number Zeblinor can handle. He can banish one with each hand, and cast a spell to make sure they don't come back again any time soon.

Cantripmancer - This is such an abstract name that it's hard to quite tell if it's in flavor for your character or not. They do appear to be a nature mage so there is that. The secondary effect is EXTREMELY niche and technical and it just feels like a "designed to narrowly pass a challenge" card. Some flavor text would have really helped. 5
Subject16 - The most out-there design. Arthropod is kind of bizarre in execution (BLINKMOTH?) but ultimately the card is splashy, flavorful, and kinda makes me wanna build this deck. 8
Mergatroid_Jones - This feels like the opposite problem: A hoser that's too broad-spectrum for the challenge. You could technically have submitted it for ANYTHING and it would have been "fitting." It's also worryingly strong, being almost as good as Nevermore for a lesser cost, putting it at (or maybe above?) a Meddling Mage level. I wasn't sure if I could imagine your character using this but the flavor text sold me. 5.5
Forestsguy - This is a lot of and maybe a too-busy design but ultimately a fun splashy effect that's (maybe too closely/obviously?) in flavor with your character. Also do enjoy just how effectively the hosing works mechanically. 6.5
RaikouRider - An absolutely wild card; I guess this was an intentional Volcano Hellion (and Glorybringer?) riff and it accomplishes the hose in a mechanical but unobtrusive way. An obviously strong but restrictive legend that might be some sort of sideboard tool for Reanimator. And of course a Dragonmaster can summon a Dragon. 8
Raptorchan - Extremely neat flavor with a non-combatant aspect. Good use of Helm of the Host tech. While making a dual Heat Shimmer might be developmentally problematic and derivative, the card looks fun outside of oppressive combos. 7
Unfortunately, one contestant has been overwhelmed by the Juggernauts and forced to flee the arena in order to survive. Cantripmancer, you have been eliminated - thanks for playing. Congrats to all the others and the next boss will arrive early tomorrow.
You're right that Arthropods as a group are a bit confusing (I considered changing it to "Bugs" and including some other stuff like Slugs and pests in the grouping but I feel that that would probably upset some entomologists). I couldn't justify not adding Blinkmoths as arthropods at the same time I added Trilobites in (even if they're an extinct arthropod species there are two of them in existence, much like the number of lands that become Blinkmoths).
They'll go up against the second boss, a gigantic and terrifying servant of the goddess Pharika:

Legendary Enchantment Creature - Giant (R)
This spell can't be countered.
Trample
If a creature without trample would deal any amount of damage, it deals 1 damage instead.
8/4
Odruc Bloodbrewer1BB
Creature - Scorpion Assassin (Uncommon)
First Strike
As Odruc Bloodbrewer enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.
Whenever Odruc Bloodbrewer blocks or is blocked by a creature of the chosen type, it gains deathtouch until end of turn. Some among the Odruc can carefully control the potency of their venom. The result is a chapter of incredibly specialized killers.
1/3
Lore flavour here, Odruc are Scorpionfolk, but are far more insectoid than say, a human torso with scorpion legs. They're primarily black but their overarching tribe is Jund.
Hospitable Umkovu1BR
Creature - Spider Skeleton (U)
Reach
Whenever Hospitable Umkovu blocks a creature, that creature loses first strike, deathtouch, double strike and trample until end of turn. 2B: Hospitable Umkovu gains your choice of deathtouch or indestructible until end of turn. "Lots of spiders in the mansion would raise questions, but single spider makes it look more comfy." — Celuna

Legendary Enchantment Creature - Giant (R)
This spell can't be countered.
Trample
If a creature without trample would deal any amount of damage, it deals 1 damage instead.
