Gerrard's Mom - Quibble is bizarre, at least in flavor, so hey, it fits Ulgrotha in that way. Mechanically it seems very on-color. Reminds awful a lot of a Commander deck commander. Sengir Bloodline Enforcer is very funky and not especially black on paper but I guess Aku Djinn is alright precedent? Strongrock Relic Forger is nice and seems like it could be A Thing in eternal formats. 9
Mergatroid_Jones - Nice job making cards to appeal to specifically me, I suppose. I'll take that bait. Bloodstone Portal is cool and probably not that abuseable, Doyodat is awesome in every possible way, Arcbound Module is a fine Johnny card that avoids the degeneracy of its inspiration, and Hellscape Dam is a monster stax card with nice flavor. All in all this is probably a batch full of problems but my love for it gives it a 9
picnic_bomber - Took the treasure (or Treasure) theme pretty literally? These don't feel like Ixalan cards so I'll just judge them, at least flavorwise, in a vacuum. Guardian of the Golden Serum looks pretty strong for an uncommon but I guess this is one of those draft theme linchpins; definitely an interesting self-perpetuating engine, and the colors are right. I'd maybe make it 3/4 though? Bijoa is very interesting but doesn't feel like it needs black (except for Commander); the bodies the Treasures turn into could be something other than vanilla 1/1s in this case. The card is build-around, three colors, and weak on its own so it should perhaps be punchier. Allure of the Expendables is quite bad; I know Dominate is a fairly good niche card in Commander, but this is just embarrassingly underpowered. Goldgobbler is cool conceptually and in flavor but the execution is once again pretty bad; you can consider "sacrifice a Treasure" as costing a little bit more than 1, so you're really paying more than XX for X +1/+1 counters. Coinspitting Well of Vitre is appealingly bizarre and Unicum's Pages, in terms of use and payoff, is probably the best of the lot; two extra turns is very strong but it's relatively hard to assemble and you have to build around it for sure. 7.5
IcariiFA - Relic of Esper is very Esper; a somewhat generic and bomby design reminding me both of Celestial Kirin and Ethersworn Adjuticator. Regardless it seems printable as-is. Jace, Unbound is... well, strong; probably alright considering the cost, but does need the conventional "up to one" clause in the +1. Gideon, Unbroken is a brilliant card - decisiony, strong at all stages, and innovative. Good job. Perennial Rebirth seems, well, sort of boring, but I do like it as an interpretation of the artwork. Life Tap is the absolute gas; a very nasty finisher unto itself and a cool concept but I think it might need to cost just about 1 more. 8
Hemlock - Charla is beautiful, a different take on green-blue and an amazing defensive card. Nu-Baron Sengir is obviously very format-specific but an interesting effect that seems nevertheless a bit hard to balance; it more or less makes all your Vamps hit twice as hard. Vahrtu is great - I appreciate the juice for a favorite tribe of mine - but seems like it needs blue in the cost. 8.5
Cardz5000 - Fruition of the Aether is chaotic and definitely feels like a phenomenon; not sure how much I'd like to see it played but that's not the point. Hall of Mirrors is a fun but "obvious" plane design and yeah, definitely Kamigawa-esque (but maybe Xerex-ish also?). Grave of the Spirit Dragon is certainly a risky plane, isn't it? Again, feels very much like the appropriate plane it is. 7.5
Antiantiserum - There's some great flavor ideas here. But I don't think any of these deserve to be legendary. Urza's Temper is tremendously narrow, considering you have to control a legend AND two artifacts to make it worth it to use. Draining the Voda Sea is an absolutely wild card and one of the more bizarre designs I've seen recently, and feels most like a legendary sorcery, but again, narrow hosing might not be the right route here, although I like how it call backs to the old oppressive color hosers in some way. Denial of History is plain bad at its rarity, sadly. 3.5
