Deep in the hull of the ship, a metallic figure began shaking, then coming to life. The pirates had captured a golem in their travels, and though it seemed valuable, they had no idea how to make use of it. Not ones to squander something valuable, they tossed it into their ship and forgot about it. Now, amidst the commotion above the deck, it became animated, then walked to the surface of the deck, its heavy footsteps making loud thuds on the wooden planks of the ship.
Zodd, the Forgotten Construct1
Legendary Artifact Creature — Golem The more it learns of the world around it, the more it questions its own past.

Zodd emerged from the ship, no other beings — living or created — in sight. Though it was quite content to remain on the ship, safe from the grievances of sand and sun creeping into its apparatus, Zodd decided to explore the world around it. It had a feeling that it hadn't felt in... however long it had been since it last awoke. The past was quite murky to Zodd, and though it could not detect any malfunction in its memory circuits, it could not seem to recall what had happened before it awoke here, on the tropical island. Yearning to know more, and yearning to decipher this strange feeling that plagued it, Zodd departed from the ship. It saw several footprints clearly in the sand—as good of a trail as any to follow.
Minutes flew by as Zodd trudged through the jungle. Mosquitos landed on its metallic surface, only to fly away disappointed at the lack of succulent blood to pilfer. Finally, after twenty-two minutes and twelve seconds, Zodd emerged into a clearing inhabited by several creatures. Zodd had never seen such an animal before, yet it instantly knew that this village was inhabited by creatures known as goblins. Zodd was still for several moments, committing the scene to memory; dozens upon dozens of creatures, each moving in their own unique way. So much data. So much to be learned, just by observing. After several moments, it became apparent that a group of adventurers stood out from the goblins — partly because of their varied races, partly because of their mannerisms. They did not belong here. Zodd rarely felt like it belonged either.
Though the group greatly piqued Zodd's interest, it was even more interested in a particular goblin. According to its catalog, goblins were not known to be especially bright or inquisitive beings, yet one of them was wielding binoculars; an instrument of discovery. Finally, something Zodd could relate to. Zodd walked up the spiral staircase to the goblin, then introduced itself, and inquired as to what exactly the goblin was searching for.
