Examples would be great--I don't usually realize a cycle is incomplete until the reveal that they're completing it.
I'll clarify that it doesn't have to be the last card of a cycle, you can also take any Magic card and do a different color version of it, as if it is part of a cycle.

Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, replace that spell's text with "This card deals 3 damage to target creature or player." You may choose new targets for it. "A wise man once passed on a spell to me that had nurtured his grove for centuries. It was in that moment I realized how malleable spells are and how foolish that man actually was."

By the way, that wasn't a cycle. That was time spiral doing the thing it commonly did where it referenced older cards with a newer version.
Technically, none of the examples were cycles, since Wizards showed no inclination of completing them. The are jus cars who are tie mechanically, that can be expanded into other colors, which is was the challenge called for.
cccccc808 – Interesting alt-win card. I like the flavor of sacrificing a large number of creatures I some dark ritual to win the game, very black. The second ability is not necessary, though, but from a design viewpoint and for the challenge. Alt-win cards are normally Johnny’s territory, there is no need for extra abilities to make them more efficient, Johnny likes to do that himself. zeke_the_plumber – The combo of affinity and devotion is nearly impossible to balance, and I would have probably doubled dared that one. You card, for example, becomes too powerful too fast for mono-blue devotion decks, it can easily replace Bident of Thassa as a card-drawing engine, and it will become one mana faster than you might think. If anything, the right color for this kind of combo is green, since that is the color that has the better track record for doing things outside the curve.
cccccc808 – a vestigial ability is better than a broken card engine.
Aftermarketradio – I would have probably double dared you too, but I think you’ve done a fairly decent job with your impossible mission. I can see this car going in blocks like Ravinka and Theros, and causing some havoc for limited play an possibly even constructed. The price seems right to me, since it is fairly narrow. All in all, not bad. Coletrain – Good choice of cycle. The execution, while not wrong, is also not too exciting. I feel that the envelope could be pushed a bit more. Comparison to Spellheart Chimera is almost mandatory, and I’m not sure which card obsoletes the other. With no flying or trample, the muse is can be easily chumped by nearly any creature out there.
Maximumbuttitude – Blue Timmy creature are really hard to design. One way not to do it is to dump every blue ability you can think of onto one creature. The landwalk plus land find is neat enough, even though Yavimaya Dryad already did it. The “make all opponent’s lands into islands” is neat enough, even though it’s going into Johnny territory. All together, It’s kina a big mess. Admirableadmiral – If the cards you’ve listed in your dare are a cycle, it’s a very loose one. One thing that is in common for all of them – none of them is a 1/1. All the other cards are synergistic – they are meant to be cogs in a bigger deck, not the card that the deck is build around. That said, I do like the design idea behind your card, but having a deck full of Lightning Bolts can be a bit tiresome to play with. I feel like this needs to have someone play around with it, tweaking costs, maybe adding “you may”, or making legendary. Maybe even making it global and legendary. You’ve utilized design space that’s way too big for a two-drop.
Hard to say. I dislike both cards, but for different reasons. I’m giving the nod to Admirableadmiral because his design was at least more innovative.
Gerrard's Mom – Good mechanic, but I’m not sure it fit for evergreen. For one thing, it gets redundant the higher the creature’s toughness is. Another issue is that it’s almost purely white. The evergreens are all suitable for at least two colors. I like the simplicity of the mechanic, but I feel it would work better as a one-of rather than a keyword. Jimmy Groove – A 0 mana Planeswalker is insane. There is absolutely no way to design something like that without creating something broken or useless.
…Or at least, that’s what I use to think. I really feel like you’ve made a good representation of a land planeswalker. I just wish that you’d have gone all the way and actually made its type “land planeswalker as well. That way, you could have saved a line of text.
The design is not without problems, though. I’m not sure how good it would be to play a land that dies to damage. The second ability made me wonder how good it can actually be to be worth 3 loyalty counters. It doesn’t gets you anything that’s too powerful, you’ll still need to wait a urn to get the most out of it, and any smart opponent would have killed Dannae by the second turn if they know what’s good for them.
Again, close match. But the bigger the challenge, the greater the reward. Jimmy Groove’s dare was impossible, it’s a wonder he got a decent card out of it, so he wins over GM’s solid, but less impressive card.
Ryder052 – No card, no triumph. SelesnyaNewLife – a multicolor artifact was one way to answer the challenge, though I would have gone with hybrid personally. Your card is a bit bland, basically being an evolution to the Eye of Ramos cycle, but having a colorless All Suns' Dawn can be interesting. I’m going to wager that this is ok balance wise, and solidity I never bad thing.
ClearwaterStilts – Many problems. The +1 ability is basically giving a creature +0/+5 until end of turn, but that’s not as useful if it’s only on your turn. The -5 ability is life gain, the weakest o all mechanics. 10 life is only exciting for new players, everybody else would want a card that forwards them in the game. Compare with Ordeal of Heliod – for a fraction of the mana, you get a card that puts counters on a creature before it rejuvenates you. Your card takes way too long to get there, 10 life are not worth it by this point. Lastly, the -8 is the worse, since it basically built around having a losing deck. Prevention from losing is not he same as winning, and players should play to win. void_nothing – 1 cmc, rare, artifa…<yawn>… oh sorry, I didn’t mean to do that, but it’s hard to get excited by a card that does not further the game in any way. I guess if you have Magus of the Mirror, your card has all sorts of crazy implications, but really, that’s not enough. The counters should have allowed you to do more than just get your life back.
A close match from the wrong end this time. But while I find both cards to be fairly useless, void_nothing’s at least have some combo interactions that can appeal to an uber-johnny, so he wins.
Ink-Treader – That is a good blue agro creature, but not a zoo one. Zoo relies on it’s many colors to get the best aggro critters around, and while your figment is definitely aggro, there is no reason for it not to work just as well in any blue deck. A reliance on another color being in the deck would have fulfilled the requirement better. As for the card, it’s a bit too aggro for my taste. Mono blue can go bananas over decks with this, drawing cards and hitting hard, and all for 2 mana. Having opponents gaining cards from it helps, but unless this is the mirror match, you’re probably getting the better deal. If you had to be blue-white-green to make the most of it, I’d like it much better. Lynx_AngeloC – Pro-tip: always double dare this sort of challenge. They’ll always make you create boring cards. There is no need for your card to be rare. It’s fairly weak, even at uncommon. Considering cards like Sulfur Vent, the power level you’re working with here is pretty obsolete. There is really no reason it shouldn’t come untapped.
Ink-Treader, who made Lynx_AngeloC fall for his trap.
The Man At The River – You know, at this point I’m almost grateful you’re a no-show. GameWorldLeader – an open-ended Ghostway. While it fills the requirement, it also causes a lot of havoc that you probably didn’t intend, such as clearing the way for an alpha strike. I feel like you didn’t spend enough time polishing this. Lack of originality and easiness of abuse would have been your downfall had you have not been given a bye.
GameWorldLeader, Duh.
All who won may post their dares for the next round.
A flavorful way for white can sacrifice creatures (not the self, but others.) Without using other colours that can remain within white's portion of the colour pie.
I'll clarify that it doesn't have to be the last card of a cycle, you can also take any Magic card and do a different color version of it, as if it is part of a cycle.
Examples of unfinished cycles (off the top of my head):
The Cone of flame cycle (Cone of Flame, Incremental Growth, Incremental Blight)
The Morphling Cycle (Morphling, Torchling, Thornling)
The Guide Cycle (Elephant Guide, Griffin Guide)
The Tutor guide (Enlightened Tutor, Mystical Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Vampiric Tutor)

Gerrard's Mom VS. Jimmy Groove
Ryder052 VS. SelesnyaNewLife
SelesnyaNewLife, of course
ClearwaterStilts VS. void_nothing
Ink-Treader VS. Lynx_AngeloC
The Man At The River VS. GameWorldLeader
