An MMORPCCCG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Custom Card Creation Game)
STARTING AND ACCEPTING NEW PLAYERS
Mexus is a freeform roleplaying game, both shamelessly and respectfully stolen from Socrates´ (And then Rithaniel´s) card-making world-proyects. A splintered world of mystery and adventure is yours to explore as you grow in an inmersive adventure, challenging your wits and will as you try to fulfill your unshackled purpose, but first, the fluff:

1. The World of Mexus
An almost boundless world that endlessly beffudles cartographers and explorers. Mexus is a large conglomeration of awing landscapes, inspiring stories, exotic folk, perilious beasts, great evil, and boundless magics that shine under the Splintered Sun, a pair of mysterious, assymetrical stars that cycle through a strange cycle of day and night. The plane appears to be boundless; there isn´t an euclidean representation of the plane´s layout as of yet, as if it kept changing, expanding, but for most, the approppriate word is "recovering"
There are only two constants on Mexus, one of them, is the leylines. Legend has it that the world of Mexus was once shattered into an uncountable ammount of pieces by a nondescript cataclysm. Beings of enormous power managed to slowly restore the plane to its glory, and these strange fissures of raw magic are the stitchlines of a world torn apart. The second one is Pantheopolis, the Golden City. Considered the center of Mexus, this utopian sprawl is where the sacred ritual took place, unafected by the leylines bizarre influence and ever expanding and under constant vigil of the mysterious, omnipresent Mox Wisp, it is the safest haven for the common folk
But the reality behind these magical influences is far grislier, and truth can only be caged for so long....
1. Character Creation
To have your character created, please copy and fill the following questionnaire into your first post. Answers need not be long. Based on these answers, I will create your avatar. You will also be assigned a starting Trait
What is your name? (What are you called?)
What is your race?(s?)
What is your class?(es?)
Do you hail from the Golden City? (If not, you can actually describe where you come from. If the answer is yes, you´ll start somewhere in Pantheopolis)
What is your personality?
What do you look like?
What do you know or think of your world?
What would you describe as your greatest strength?
2. How to Play
To put it simply: You post what you do, I post what happens. I will guide you as to what options are available to you, especially when it comes to travel, but it's going to be very freeform. I will have some things set in stone on my end, like some quests and items and characters (the map morphs, but most landmarks stay there, no sudden hometown caving in into quicksand, no sir). The rest will be a fun as-we-go experience.
As you adventure, you will face enemies and obstacles. This is where the custom cards come in. Each non-combat challenge and enemy will have a numerical difficulty assigned to it. You will design one or more custom cards to address the challenge and I will grade each on a scale from 1 to 20 based on two main criteria: Whenever it is flavorful to the challenge, and whenever it is a balanced card of Magic the Gathering. Up to two aditional points are awarded for having correct templating
Mana is not unlimited. You will start out with some and find plenty of ways to replenish it along your adventures. This is something you will need to keep track of (see The Most Important Rule). Your starting mana is determined by your colors. Monocolor characters start with 5 Mana of their color, Bicolor characters start with 4 Hybrid mana of their colors, Colorless characters start with 6 colorless mana and 1 mana of any color (Marked as X) As an additional rule to mana, you CANNOT gain mana via spells. Mana spells can be used to complete challenges, but will not give you the leftovers unless instructed to. Any mana ability your character might have can only be used when casting spells for challenges
Combat challenges will also be a thing, of course. If you choose to engage in direct combat, your avatar will block or be blocked by the opposing creature, you will be told which you are and, in some party situations, you´ll be asked to also declare blockers. You can create custom spells in combat, but since combat casting is difficult, there will be some luck here. Your card will be graded 0-10 on quality and balance, then that score will be added with a 4d5 dice roll and any combat mods you have. If the final result is at least 21, the spell is cast. Given the volatility of combat spells, you can queue up to three spells per turn in combat, unless specifically told otherwise. Please specify the conditions under which each should be cast (for example, cast Spell C only if Spell A fails but Spell B succeeds or something like that).
As an additional caveat, there are rules for multicasting spells. When you try to cast more than one spell to defeat a challenge, these will recieve a Multicast penalty which will reduce its final result by 2 for each place beyond the first. This does not affect Combat casting queues (if X fails, then Y), but rather, consecutive casting for a same challenge (do X, then do Y(-2), then do Z(-4)). Multicasts result in less experience gains than using one spell to resolve the particular challenge
The rules for traveling through the world are as follows: Say where you want to go. You can go anywhere that's discovered, but longer trips are more likely to be interrupted by attacks or events. You also cannot walk through uncharted territory on the expanding world. If you enter a zone that isn't on the map at the bottom of the most recent update, your turn ends there.
Finally, there will be character progression. As you complete challenges and do stuff, you'll gain experience. When you level up, your avatar will improve. Sometimes you will be given options as to how these improvements happen, sometimes you won't. As you progress through the story, you´ll earn new abilities, attain wealth to invest in powerful artifacts, and ultimatelly decide your destiny
Some turns will inevitably be more interesting than others. I will do my best to respond quickly enough that you're never waiting for days. Regardless, i should add that as a previous RP mod, i´ve noticed people rely on me to make progress on their adventures (this sounds less lazy in context). A general tip i will give you is to try and make things happen. Everyone will be hopefully started off in the same level but only those who trully want to thrive will
3. The Most Important Rule
Once your character is created, you are in charge of keeping track of and updating your own character's stats, abilities (Abilities are split into Traits (Positive) and ills (Negative), inventory, quests and anything else worth keeping track of. Please include ALL of your character's basic information in EVERY POST you make in this thread. It might make sense to keep a sort of "log" or "journal," and/or to put all your character info for this game in a spoiler in your signature. Don't cheat and make yourself awesome or rich and hope I won't notice. I keep a ton of tabs and i might just have to hurry up some bossfights in return
It's also helpful, if you can say what just happened to you, so I don't have to backtrack and check as much.
4. A Strong Recommendation
Read everything that happens to everyone whenever you have the time. Information that holds true for other people will often hold true for you. Also, how else will you know if someone else is in the same area as you, possibly even doing the same thing?
5. Real/Anticipated FAQ
Wait, when did that happen? Remember to read what is going on with other players as well. Sometimes what they do will affect your own story, and it's best to not be blindsided when that happens.
What´s the Golden City like? It´s like Notre Dame from the Disney Movie where there´s a million of difference races and services and the security is itching to prove you a gypsy.....that sounds wrong. A better analogy would be Ravnica if the Azorius had won the race
Can I cast permanent spells? Yes, but they won't be permanent. Each spell exists solely in the context of the challenge it is created for. This isn't to say you won't acquire permanent permanents, but you probably won't cast them yourself.
What if I want to cast a spell to accomplish something that isn't a challenge you gave me? Feel free to do this. If you do, I will treat it as a challenge, choose an appropriate difficulty, and then see if you succeeded.
What are spell mods and when are they applied? A spell mod increases or decreases your card's score against its difficulty check. They are applied whenever a difficulty check is made, so if you cast multiple spells for a single difficulty check, you only get the mod applied once. Since every spell in combat gets an independent difficulty check, those mods apply to each spell.
How do I get mana? Exploration and rewards. Also certain forms of self growth
Can I pool mana with allies to cast spells? Yes, if you have their permission.
I have a lot of weapons. Do all their effects apply? No. Once any player actually does have multiple items of a single type, I will make y'all start bolding your equipped items.
How much can I do in a turn? As much as you want without doing my job for me. Don't feel like you have to give me only one thing to address each turn. If you want to investigate multiple places/objects/people in a turn, do so, just make sure you let me actually tell you what you find. Obviously submitting a card or traveling to an unknown area "ends your turn."
Can I speak for NPCs? Yes, provided that I have spoken as them already, so you know their personality.
Can I make up NPCs I see that you didn't tell me about? Yes, provided its reasonable they'd be there and you don't create too much lore in the process. Alternativelly, if you want more lore to be made around them, PM me first
Can I create my own locations? Only your character's home, and note, while you can control it's history and landscape to your hearts content (unless its the Golden City), once it's made, it belongs to the world, and where it is will be determined by me, while what happens to it in the future will be up in the air.
Aaaah, I missed a lot of updates and can't find my last one, what do I do!? Search for your avatar's name in this thread and you can find the last update that mentioned you in no time.
Can I assume that the description you gave someone else for an area is the same description I'd get? Sort of. Things change as you shape the world (alternativelly, the world changes). If someone solves someone's quest, that person might leave. If someone picks up an object, that object obviously isn't there anymore. But unless it's outright stated somewhere that a thing or person is gone, assume it's still there. New things (and batches of land) can pop up unannounced all the time.
Didn't you copy & paste a lot of this from Kardia? Jokes on you, i copied it from Destent. We all have different ways of modding and different worlds that I´m sure can coexist
((Obviously I would be the first one to post, Gregar ))
What is your name? Vishal Nalar
What is your race? Ithok (A race of human-dragon hybrids that are more human. Take on some dragon traits.)
What is your class? Warrior, Berserker
Do you hail from the Golden City? Yes.
What is your personality? A brutish warrior, Vishal is intimidating, but proud. As an Ithok, he is destined to destroy his enemies but also protect his best allies. He does not easily make allies, but when he does, he is the most loyal ally you can obtain.
What do you look like? Ithok are very large-built humans, averaging 7" tall. They are muscular and have a few notable features: They have red pupils that often glow gold and have long, dragon-like, human tails (Instead of scales, they are flesh and muscle that are covered in metal plates the Ithok weld onto them). Ithok also have clawed nails, like dragons.
What do you know or think of your world? The world is a vast place full of dangers to conquer, people to threaten and quests. Money is power, but allies bring more strength.
What would you describe as your greatest strength? The ability to intimidate my enemies, terrorize the townfolk and protect myself and my allies.

What is your name? Jegudiel
What is your race? Angel
What is your class? Knight
Do you hail from the Golden City? No. From a plane of constant warfare and strife, a servant of the god Gaia. (Not really a God, just a Planeswalker and head of one of the many warring factions, calls herself a god though). Gaia teaches harmony, justice, and obedience to those who fight for her.
What is your personality? Austere and very justice minded, which also can mean self-righteous and bigoted. Seeks to help others before self but also to judge others.
What do you look like? Human-esque with long black hair. Two angelic wings, one white and one black. Always wears a circular pendant as a sign of faith to Gaia. It's a disc with one side white and one side black, separated by a sinuous line. Note, gender-less, appears like a masculine woman or a feminine man, depending on who you ask and when.
What do you know or think of your world? It is a place with great potential for peace and prosperity, if it wasn't for those who refuse to step in line.
What would you describe as your greatest strength? Dedication.
You stumble on what seems to be a small outpost near a razed forest, or what you might believe is. This little town has perhaps 10 houses and no discernible main services, which suggests it is intended for a non-social use. From above, the neighboring jungle seems to have started to spontaneously and haphazardly decay, whereas entire batches of tree has uprooted and died, and even a visible river is tainted by an unknown substance. Whether it is a coincidence or not and should require your attention is out of anyone else's hands

What is your name? (What are you called?) Kon-Sen What is your race?(s?) Human What is your class?(es?) Warrior Do you hail from the Golden City? (If not, you can actually describe where you come from. If the answer is yes, you´ll start somewhere in Pantheopolis) Kon-Sen has lived in many places, but he currently resides in the Golden City. He has just completed training at military-style combat, and is currently seeking a new technique to master, either within the Golden City or elsewhere. What is your personality? Kon-Sen has but one goal in life: to be the greatest fighter in all of Mexus. He is skilled at both armed and unarmed combat, as well as minor fire magicks, and those are the only tools he needs to solve any problem in his path. He is eager for any chance to test his prowess against all foes, for victory proves his superiority and defeat hones his skill. He takes time out of every day to perform training exercises, and is forever in search of those who can teach him new styles and techniques to add to his repertoire. Kon-Sen has difficulty taking "no" for an answer. "No" to him means "What you want will not be given to you, but can be earned if you try hard enough". What do you look like? 5' 6", tanned, well-toned, shaved head, no facial hair. What do you know or think of your world? Kon-Sen sees the world as two parts: Things that will help him achieve his goal, and things that prevent him from achieving his goal. He continually seeks out the former and tries to defeat the latter. What would you describe as your greatest strength? Combat skill, followed closely by discipline.

What is your name? Lukas Rakaro What is your race? Vampire What is your class? Archer
Do you hail from the Golden City? : Originally hailing from a village out in the wilderness, he was skilled hunter and bowman, but dreamed of getting out of his small village and exploring the world. He did so when he came of age, with tragic resullts. As he found himself lost in a city of ill repute, and quickly got in over his then naive head, soon finding himself on the wrong end of a vampire's fang.
Reborn as a vampire, he found a surprising delight in in his new form. His first act as a vampire was to express his gratitude to his sire by ending his life. He has since then been traveling around, he now often works as a mercenary or bounty hunter using it to make some coin and take advantage of his newfound strength, hunting skills and need for blood.
What is your personality? : Now that he is truned his most notable traits is his love of brawling, often finding the act of violence to be quite therapeutic. His sense of humor is dry and sarcastic, and he carries himself with swagger. While he is intelligent, and perceptive he often prefers action over talk, leading those that don't know him well to think him him more reckless than he is.
What do you look like?: He is quite tall and pale, with dark red eyes. Unlike most vampires that tend to wear their hair long, he keeps his hair close cropped, to not get in the way of his shots, when he fires his arrows.
What do you know or think of your world?: He see's the world as one large jugular vein, he intends to drink deep and experience as much as he can before something or someone put's his now prolonged life to an end
What would you describe as your greatest strength?: His aim, he was a good shot before he was human, and he's an even better one now with his enhanced senses.
The Meiden are much like humans except for their normally larger physical structure and their "cold" blood, much like how most beings have their own internal temperature, Meidans have body cooling, a method adapted to better help them survive the cold whilealso redirecting their energy flows of the body.
What is your class? Wizard
Do you hail from the Golden City? No.
The Meidan homeland is the Walking Glacier Reljan, a massive tortoise of ice that roams along the White Ocean, a plain of boundless snow. Reljan is... a natural phenomenon as far as most have been concerned, and like Mexus, is an unexplainable part of the plain. Reljan passively forms new formations of ice along its "shell", old ones either going downwards, being used by the inhabitants or being compacted and moved aside until it crashes down, great cracks and breaks being heard along the frostborn terrapin's shell rims as ice breaks and falls toward the snowy plains below.
In the center of the turtle's shell, on a mountain of ice that rises from the center, is the Meidan city of Pagos, carved from the mountain base and crawling its way up ever higher. It is the center of Meidan activity, as other Meidan villages and towns are located throughout the shell of Reljan. (This does not include the Meidan outpost at the borders of the White Ocean, Jorde.) Meiden are gifted with iceworks and known for their cold forges, nevermelting ice sculptures and such and their frost magics. Such is their love for their homeland that Meiden that venture away from Reljan are not usually without a shard or chunk of ice from the Walking Glacier, a neverchanging reminder of home.
What is your personality? Ialyr is a morally cold person, quite content to see choices as black or white and not go back on her decisions. She is also unchanging when making a moral decision, granting the Meidan "cold stare" of impassion. Socially, she's curious about the rest of Mexus, and probably prone to mistakes (she'll never admit it). Normally a light and seemingly happy person, she's set out to learn about her unending plane, and get better at ice magics while she's at it.
What do you look like? Ialyr shares traits common to most of her kin, pale skin that looks vaguely like you caught a hint of frostbite, lightish blue lips, a small crystal that peeks just right out of one's forehead, as if someone scrapped the skin from a patch and it turned out to be stone(crystal). Ialyr is a bit tall for her race at 6'10. She has platinum blonde hair (Meiden have either this or an oaky brown) that rolls down in flowy waves until they reach her shoulders, where they continue on for just a little bit. Her eyes are a blue of the pures sapphires.
What do you know or think of your world? The world is a vast and unknown place, and although living in frost would connect the world and save them from much suffering, I understand that for many, this is not the way. So the world is a vast pool of knowledge and experience.
What would you describe as your greatest strength? The cold, it is my friend, the foe of others, and fully controllable to reach the best outcomes.
What is your name? Cassandra Morgana
What is your race? Vampire Shapeshifter
What is your class? Artificer
Do you hail from the Golden City? Sure
What is your personality? Calm, cool and ambitious.
What do you look like? She has long black hair and wears clothes similar to the Lord of the Unreal. She also has small famgs and can Shapeshift. She has blue eyes and pale skin.
What do you know or think of your world? Not much except that Artifacts should be permanent.
What would you describe as your greatest strength? The Mind.

Pantheopolis is the utopian dream of order where everything is accessible, except chaos. This bright city has offered you hearth, home and provisions, but not a true, unshackled challenge. You realize that the city's frontiers are not far from here, that the horizon sparkles in the torn sky.
Behind you, there's the clamor of the marketplace, and while your funds are not very promising, you know there might be something behind their false smiles and noise, or someone that can't stand up for themselves. On the other side, you've got the mysterious Church of Voz, an ornamented palace of healers and clerics that offer their services to those in need, and whose hands are never empty nor uninviting to strangers. You also recognize the alley to your right, the roads that take to the Mage Corps Headquarters; an elitist faction of soldiers that uphold the law and order in the city before the Mox Wisps take their draconian toll, a place where all sort of martial talents are appreciated
There's a city to continue exploring behind you, and there is a world to begin exploring before you, and you are the one that can move

You've asked yourself what that bright pillar full of awe-inspiring luster is on the horizon many times over. In your still short experience in this world, you've always seen it on the horizon. This place in particular has little else to offer you, and you once again traverse the Golden City. It is well known that this place is hardly driven by war or infighting, but the multiple military, martial and arcane centers tell otherwise of the world surrounding them. The Mage Corps are probably very lavish and code-bound to teach anything of value, but they still host battle-driven tournaments to attract possible recruits, in which honor can be achieved. Rumors also float of Master Amatsu, a mysterious man known for shattering the landscape and defeating armies with his bare limbs, being last seen somewhere near the Library of Alexandria, the boundless compendium of knowledge the city has to offer.

With the prey being happy in their house, there are more places to hunt in, and your journey takes you to a sight strange to other words. The loud noises and apparent ruckus, audible from this distance to even un-heightened senses, suggest its bound to have some feisty folk. Right behind that outpost fortress, you observe the ground suddenly change in texture and appearance, rotten and melted under acidic downpours. Pagos will not move anywhere, being a self-sustaining ice paradise, it has been home of the Meidan, as well as weary travelers trying to traverse the white ocean. While your curiosity might have not yet taken you out of your home, it seems that the world's curiosity will. Reports from the borderland outposts report a strange phenomenom where the White Ocean ends. A wasteland is bordering the White Ocean, no snow falls beyond the arbitrary boundary it sets, and paranoid reports are arriving that it is actually expanding.

Living in the city has not been such an experience for you, focusing on trying to make your art sustain itself for time and forever. The city offers individuals that can help your art, as well as be benefited from it. The Library of Alexandria proves itself to be a grand compendium of knowledge, any and all forms of it. Similarly, one of the many centers of commerce around the city might provide the items you require, and from your position, the 107th District Marketplace is not far, well known from its high-value and its......less savory sources, it might provide the thing to spark your inspiration
But of course, you've most likely combed the city thrice over. What could be the best art to create, but one that Mexus' outlands can provide, and the enclosed Pantheopolis can't?
This place in particular has little else to offer you, and you once again traverse the Golden City. Kon-Sen stepped out of the barracks. He had been training in battlefield combat for the past two weeks--flying through the lessons much faster than any pupil the center had seen in decades, which was in line with expectations--and he had completed his final lesson moments ago. While he would never be so foolish as to dismiss a technique outright, Kon-Sen was relieved for his time here to have come to an end. They had focused on techniques useful for fighting as a corps--lots of shield and polearm, and maneuvers that were incredibly effective as part of an army but incredibly useless alone, that sort of thing. Kon-Sen understood why, of course. A military functions best when its soldiers fight not as individuals, but as a uniform unit, and creating such a uniform unit was a military academy's primary purpose, after all. But given how few people in the world exhibited but a fraction of Kon-Sen's skill, he imagined that the amount of time he would spend fighting alongside even one person who was his equal would be quite miniscule indeed.
The sun setting in the distance and the cool evening breeze touching his skin made Kon-Sen's fingers itch. This...was a great night for combat. Almost unconsciously, Kon-Sen's hand formed a fist. He could feel the blood rushing through his veins, his warrior spirit enveloping him and begging to be released in battle, his mind tumbling with possibilities for incorporating everything he had just learned into the well-honed combinations he had been developing for years. He needed an opponent, a real one, not the wet-behind-the-ears cadets or puffed-up captains he had faced for the past two weeks. He needed someone who could challenge him, to test his strength and cleverness as only a seasoned combatant could.
His destination was clear: the tournaments of the Mage Corps, playground of the greatest fighters in the Golden City.

It is a pleasure for your kin to be out of the city, of its holistic views and where people are protected from spontaneous demise down in their beacon at the horizon. With the prey being happy in their house, there are more places to hunt in, and your journey takes you to a sight strange to other words. You see a large, stone cottage, resting upon the grassy plain your feet lie on in this very moment. The loud noises and apparent ruckus, audible from this distance to even un-heightened senses, suggest its bound to have some feisty folk. Right behind that outpost fortress, you observe the ground suddenly change in texture and appearance, rotten and melted under acidic downpours. These follow into a marshland of a forest known as the Swamps of Lisga, home of a treacherous civilization of humans and rat-folk that commerce in threats, scavenges and knives.
The horizon is far today, and the night isn't abound as of now, there is still time to make choices
Lukas winced slightly, as he continued down the road, not from the sun, but more because he was still a little hungover from last night, and given his vampiric stamina, that was saying something. Then again maybe it was the girl he had met at his last locale the one with flame red hair, seriously, her hair was actually on fire. He had always liked spicy food and her blood did have nice kick to it, but perhaps she was to blame for the slight pounding in his head.
However that was the past and now it was time to look toward the future. He looked at the stone cottage that seemed to have quite a party going on, by the sounds of it.
So he decided to head to the stone cottage and see if his guess was correct and it was a tavern of some sorts, a little hair of the dog would do nicely before he continued on into this swampy land.

You've asked yourself what that bright pillar full of awe-inspiring luster is on the horizon many times over. In your still short experience in this world, you've always seen it on the horizon. This is the Golden City of Pantheopolis, a symbol of direction in a map-less plane that can be seen from anywhere. It is at a distance, but no travel should wear a true knight.
Jegudiel stares off at the city in the distance for a little time, robes rustling in the wind. Almost there. I can tell that much, even if distance is strange here. Jegudiel shakes his head and twitches his wings to clear his mind and then looks over the...can it even be called a village... the houses to see if he can find any sign of commerce or industry. The rotting lands and destroyed trees worry him, so he walks towards the houses seeking out inhabitants.

Cassandra Morgana bored with the city heads out towards the Mexus Outlands for power and items that the city can not hold to create artifacts that last for all eternity. So to speed up the process she pulls a metal ball which turns into a large set of wings and attempts to fly away.

What is your name? (What are you called?) Vorin What is your race? Human What is your class? Spellshaper Do you hail from the Golden City? Yes What is your personality? Passionate about learning, scattered and hard to predict. What do you look like? 6'0", medium length, dark brown hair, loosely tied back and green eyes. Comfortable purple robes with a hood that is generally down and light traveler's pack filled with old odd ends. What do you know or think of your world? Not much is known to him, but he is eager to get out there and dirty his boots. What would you describe as your greatest strength? Same as his weakness, his unpredictability. He is hard to read, but at the same time he can't read others very well.
Name: Jemals Dagegen Verstand Race: Kor Class: Gramarist. Though, you likely do not know what a Gramarist is. To understand what a Gramarist is, you must first know what Gramarie is. To explain, isn't it curious how a wizard can summon up a demon with a few scribbles on the ground, and we never wonder what in those scribbles could have changed the world so? What of a dragon's fire breath? Where does it come from? The coils that bind an air elemental into a coherent form? How do they function? So many people in this world of magic and spells take such things for granted, but a Gramarist does not. Gramarie is the list of natural laws and principals which give magic their making, and everything which lies in the realm of that which is magic also lies in the realm of Gramarie. To control Gramarie is to control how magic even works. A Gramarist is one who researches and manipulates Gramarie. Background: Jemals grew up in a small town known as Gefahrzuhause, which was built in a peculiar location, on an island of fertile farmland perhaps 10 miles in diameter, but which was ringed by a moat of concentric Leylines, which lit the island with eldritch light at all hours. The land beyond these rings of Leylines was airborne ocean, with an entire body of water of immense size carrying the little island and hovering in the air, miles above the wasteland far below. Gefahrzuhause was built in this curious location specifically to study it and the exceedingly strange Leylines ringing the island. Many discoveries were discovered in this place, and thus Namenkuriosen, the school of Gramarie, was founded in the town. This school is where Jemals parents met. Though, the couple could not handle the child once it was born, and thus left it as an orphan in the school. He was raised by the professors of Gramarie, raised to be a Gramarist, to understand the laws of magic. Though, Gramarie theory is all good and well, but such powers and secrets are meant to be used, and so, Jemals left the town, and set forth to explore a world of as-yet unsolved mysteries. Personality: Stupidly patient at times, yet dangerously inquisitive at others. Jemals knows a lot about a lot different things, but is never content with what he knows. His mind is full of equalities and the notion that lines aren't meant to be respected or crossed, but examined for what they are. He is a very odd character to have a conversation with, as he's always trying to find out more information, and get to the basis of what you may have said or been about to say. Appearance: A thin Kor man with a rich smile in his early adulthood. Wearing a vest and pants seemingly made out of belts and pockets and laden down with a heavy backpack overflowing with books and notes covered in Gramarie formulae. So much of his inventory is taken up by notes that he actually keeps his pots and pans for cooking tied to his belt. World View: The world is a giant puzzle. That's about it. Though, unlike most people who see a puzzle, he doesn't want to solve it, he just wants to understand the rules. Greatest Strength: His Powers of Gramarie
"....this is disturbing." Ialyr commented, having read a notice on one of the recruitment boards in Pagos.
The White Ocean is receding... it is a horrifying reality, but also so interesting. she thought, making her way towards the Euchris' Landing, the usual takeoff point for people who wish to get directly off Reljan. There was a small host of other Meiden on the landing, and one with a cerulean list along with writing board.
"Hi, I'm here to sign up for the investigatory expedition across the White Ocean, Ialyr Crestfall" she smiled at the Meidan recorder with the list.
"Crestfall.... Fine. You are now part of the expeditionary force, remember that should you be separated from the rest of the group, take note that there are two directions in which is is most recommended to go to, away or to Reljan, both are acceptable, but moving opposite Reljan is more likely to take you to the borders of the Ocean," he nods, a few more Medien gathering for the team as a wizard makes his way near your group.
Ialyr tries her best not to commune with the other Medien as the mass summons takes place, she can feel a small giddiness swell p inside her heart, an excitement for the future to come, she smiled, the group being ported a few kilometers away from the back left foot of the glacial creature of burden, Reljan.
She smelled the air of the White Ocean, it wasn't as pure as the crystals back in Pagos, but the feelings of blue and white mana flowed ever so softly like snow gently falling.

Here you are, at the borders of the city, willing to go and experience things that you've never before. Perhaps step on your first Leyline, meet even more of the interesting folk out there, or slay mighty beasts and rescue princesses!....That sounds awfully farfetched
The city is behind you, and before you, there is an open plain split in half, almost literally. There's a clear, mysterious division in your path, not apparent by any visible means. On the left, there lies a grassy plain, you see some small and big game in the distance, and if you get closer, you might just witness a predator proving its worth. To the right, you see a more colorful, lush grassland, filled with flowers and following into a forest. There is nothing visible from your position but a large row of trees, so whatever is hidden here is unknown.
Looking further to the east and west reveal an even more puzzling horizon, owed to the plane's strange layout, and of course, the city is your refuge if you believe are not ready to yet brave the elements

You can still see the island in the sky, your past afloat above an oft drenched wasteland. With exploration in mind, you see the golden horizon in front of you, still visible even without the aerial vantage granted by the floating island. Pantheopolis is the hub of most knowledge and divine magics, but it is certainly not where an educated scholar would go.
You remember being given instructions by an old friend, about certain landmarks that you might be interested in. The Rockhill Summit is a very feisty place that can be found by trekking north, with fire-driven spectacles visible even from the lofty sky lighting up every night as the tribal Viashino practice their lively rituals. Another peculiar direction you were told was to go south, and just keep going until you find the lonely tree. If you gazed south, you couldn't even see a single tree in the horizon from that direction. You were told that this would be the case, and you should just walk there if you wanted to meet high standards of knowledge and fevered intellectual arguments.
East, West, and anything in between are unknown lands as far as your immediate knowledge goes, but you can always look there and find more options

You find yourself striding in the very rare, relatively empty spots of the city; Pantheopolis abhors a vacuum. However, staying in the city will not discover your past, and you will not get any younger by waltzing in circles avoiding human contact. Your immediate options seem to be to visit the Library of Alexandria and find some relevant texts; most of the employees are known to be spirits, you can't get more discreet than that. Of course, one of the many city gates is always near, in case you wish to open your own path.
Between hushed and excited whispers, you hear some peculiar news. The Kaiser of Rockhot Summit, a Viashino driven community, is said to be presenting himself today in this very plaza. A figure not seen in years at the grounds of Pantheopolis, and alleged links to dragons, it might be a fine investment to find a way to trade words with him

Mage Corps Splinter Division 6: The Mage Corps are a highly diverse organization, splitting all of their operations in diverse centers. Division 6 is in charge of management of information, items and most public relations. Its large space doubles as warehouse for evidence or items required by the corps, as well as a spacious area to host the events of the institution
The first thing that could be seen from the distance was a large line of audience, the Corps initially didn't allow spectators, as their tournaments were more of a culling method of determining new possible recruits, but all forms of controlled combat calls curious citizens like carrion calls the crows. Thankfully, the entrance for the "to-be" contestants was quiet visible, made brighter with the assistant of a young cadet, to prevent the large lines to be of distraction.
The participants line was empty, there was but one elf with a paper and feather marking all the attendants. She wore a pronounced red armor with sharp, gilded edges. Her weapon was strapped to her back, but from that angel, it was small, sharp, and had no visible handle, which suggested it was meant for throwing. She would look at Kon-Sen as he approached, tersely asking the routine question:
"Your name and your reason for joining this tournament, please"

Knefriteri gazed down at the various documents in front of her, unable to take in their meaning anymore than she could an hour ago. This is small time work I really need to move on she thought to herself. Giving more thought to the small rumors that echo though the halls of civil service she came to a decision on what needed to be done. The Cathedral of Voz has a potential of being a useful ally, a bit of pro bono work wouldn't go unappreciated Tapping her long fingers on her desk an unsettling smile crossed her face. "You don't look like the guy that's meant to deliver the missing pieces, or did he grew wings?....No matter! No matter! Sure you are here for business here Miss.....ter? No matter! Here! We have some stuffs and things and even objects!", he bumbles around in excitement, bringing unused wares to the table:
"So what brings you here? Getting goods? Delivering goods? Or are you the guy that wanted to sue u-No matter! Hehehe!"
Jegudiel looks at the man and tilts it's head to the side curiously. "The decay, the lack of life here. I simply wanted to make sure no one was in any danger. If anyone needed help." He takes in his surroundings again seeking for other people to see if any were in danger or looking oppressed and desperate. He stretched his wings to their full length and looked at the man sternly "What are you hiding, exactly?"
"Hmph. You have nothing I need." Vishar makes some sort of deep grunt before walking off, away from the merchant and the market. "Perhaps I would be better served to go to the Mage Corps and enter the tournament. Someone or something needs a good beating." Vishar heads in the direction of the Mage Corps.
He wishes to participate in the tournament.

The Adventurer's Guillotine: Often confused as the "The Adventurer's Guild", due to its incomplete sign at the entrance, this place is a rotten mix of miscreants that gather in this place for the sole reason of drinking some of the strongest brews and most exotic, disgustingly looking food. Founded by a genius ratfolk from the swamps known as Siko, the place is a well known stomping grounds for mercenaries, smugglers, swindlers and criminal bands.
The moment you enter....no one looks at you. Most of the people at the far tables seem to be busy in a heated arguments, and there seem to be cards and money involves. Other corners are filled with scheming rats (both literal and figurative) that would care less about their environment. There's a goblin pinned to the wall with knives, a gift from a fellow at the other side of the bar. All of these chaotic, lovely sights are interrupted as a large Minotaur steps between you and the door frame. "What's your business here, wimp?", he eagerly insults your body frame
Now this seems like his kind of place, Lukas likes the looks of things here, at very least the drinks seemed strong, and hell he might even find a job to to round things out. However his elation was thrown off as a large shadow darkened his vision as a minotaur stepped in front of him
"What's your business here, wimp?"
He was in no mood for this,as his hand closed briefly into a fist before, it relaxed and he gave a pointed smile that held no warmth as he said " a drink, and maybe more, though beyond that it's none of your damn business, now if you'll excuse me.." he said then quickly thrust his hand out as he spiked the troublesome minotaur with a:

XXXMexus, the Hidden PlaneXXX
An MMORPCCCG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Custom Card Creation Game)
STARTING AND ACCEPTING NEW PLAYERS
Mexus is a freeform roleplaying game, both shamelessly and respectfully stolen from Socrates´ (And then Rithaniel´s) card-making world-proyects. A splintered world of mystery and adventure is yours to explore as you grow in an inmersive adventure, challenging your wits and will as you try to fulfill your unshackled purpose, but first, the fluff:
Table of Contents
1. The World of Mexus
2. Character Creation
3. How to Play
4. The Most Important Rule
5. A Strong Recommendation
6. Real/Anticipated FAQ
Anything that is bolded is something in the rules that has been added or modified from the 3 current iterations of MMORPCCCGs

(What are you called?) Kon-Sen
What is your race?(s?) Human
What is your class?(es?) Warrior
Do you hail from the Golden City? (If not, you can actually describe where you come from.
Lukas Rakaro
What is your race? Vampire
What is your class?
What is your race? Meidan
What is your class? Wizard
Do you hail from the Golden City? No.

If honor-bound duels and rigorous training bore the aspiring warrior, the Odd Districts, a series of narrow, untraveled streets, unwatched by the law-hogging Wisps and not dared by the common folk, might provide opponents less likely to respect any semblance of rules

[Inkfox Aesthetics] [The Spirit of EDH] U Sakashima the Impostor R Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
Name: Jemals Dagegen Verstand
Race: Kor
Class: Gramarist.

Working with two faces has its uses, it keeps you busy and you never run out of excitement. Currently, both your public and private faces have a job pending, and there's much juice left in this city to simply walk away. You've heard that a client of the Cathedral of Voz, the preaching school of healing, is irate with the institute and wishes for them to comply to his demands, to sadly no avail, perhaps a third hand could decide which party, if any, will win the deal. On the other hand, the Odd Districts are not without their jobs, and being a well known assassin in the city's underworld means that there are possible contractors to find in the dark, avoided alleyways that maze through Pantheopolis

After a short trip, Kon-Sen arrives to:

There's a goblin pinned to the wall with knives, a gift from a fellow at the other side of the bar. The outpost is really small as compared to most actual socially-driven cultures. And thus, there was no real market, or at least, not a lively one. When the Vedalken can't find an use for something, they keep it until they can either use it or profit from it, and for the latter, they need professionals. Much like its core, its hierarchy is circular and nothing goes to waste as they advance in a very specific, yet nondescript direction

The outpost is really small as compared to most actual socially-driven cultures. And thus, there was no real market, or at least, not a lively one. When the Vedalken can't find an use for something, they keep it until they can either use it or profit from it, and for the latter, they need professionals. A pale Vandal, the name given to the ratfolk from the Swamps of Lisga, waves at you from a distance as he apparently divined your intentions, he manages the only market the outpost has
"You don't look like the guy that's meant to deliver the missing pieces, or did he grew wings?....No matter!

Lukas opens the doors and approaches:

Put a -1/-1 counter on target creature. That creature can't block this turn.
Even the most stalwart guard can falter if you hit the right spot.
With the minotaur (hopefully) incapacitated for the moment, Lukas pushes past him and into the bar itself, sliding some coin the barkeeps way for a drink, and some information of any jobs that might be readily available (will leave it to you GF to tell many how many coins are deducted seeing as there's a spell on the stack before the action so to speak)
