Over the eight months since the DCC switched to a "vote for exactly two" format, we've had a lot of people who don't seem to grasp the concept. (I believe the average is somewhere around once a week.)
At this time, we'll be accepting arguments for and against reverting to a single-vote format, with an initial decision to be made on or around March 31st. Any changes in the voting format will not be made until the first poll on entries in June, to keep things consistent within any given CCC&G Pro Tour season.
Proposals of other means to run the vote are not being entertained at this time; if we retain the multiple-vote format, we will look into other methods of conducting the vote to reduce the occurrence of misvotes.
I'm against the top-1 coming back. I think it can be really punishing given so many people submitting on a single day. Sometimes it seems what really matters is to submit a really nice design in a day where almost no one had also a really good design. This gives 8+ votes, and probably someone got a decent design useless because (s)he cannot resubmit it. Top-2 attenuates a bit that problem, as it gives credit for more than one good design. Still, I think it is not the perfect way to do it.
I get that this is a "popularity" kinda game, but as I said, votes can be misleading. Going on another way, and it would probably give much more work, what about something like CCL? Each player gives a top3, worthing 3, 2 and 1 points. Then sum up the scores. This way you are allowed to vote for more than one guy, but also allowed to give weight to your votes.

I think overall that would lead to a healthier game model, but look at the DCC right now. It takes about 10 mins to make the thread, and a lot of people still think its too much work. Add onto it tallying each posts votes? Seems like it only makes the creation of the thread a more daunting task.
It would be nice if there was an "organizer" like the other threads that would post the thread at a regular time (like what memnarch used to do) and posted on the Discussion thread when he/she wouldn't be available to post the next day. This organizer would change each month (if they so desired) and would be awarded some amount of points (similar to MCC judge points) for the pro tour if he / she did the large majority of work each month. If this was decided, we could actually implement a top 3 with very brief (like a sentence) explaining why people liked the cards they voted for. I don't know whether it would be better to give out 3-2-1 points or just leave it 1-1-1, due to the swinginess of the former. Thoughts?
EDIT: I will be posting the new thread around 0900.
That's what I meant with "give much more work". However, if we require players to submit the top3 in some pre-defined format, we could copy each top3 into a single file while creating the new thread and then run a script to automatically calculate the scores. This of course requires players to pay attention to the format and the correct names of other players, but that would be their responsibility. If they fail, just as not submitting 2 votes, they would not be considered. Also, the top3 submission would be much easier to spot than checking the 2 and only 2 votes.

Technically we have two - myself and void_nothing - but void_nothing is kind of busy with school right now, and I'm in the process of moving out (which is frustrating, taking about three times longer than it should, and it annoys my wife when I'm on the computer instead of lugging boxes out to the van). So think of us as more a "if nobody else gets it up, we'll try to get it up in a timely fashion" mechanism than anything else for now. (Once one or both of us has less intrusions on our time, it's more likely that one of the two of us will post the thread.)
Rather than just "at a regular time", we're trying to get it posted between 7am and 10am Pacific time, though (for obvious "RL is intruding" reasons) it's been a bit late the last couple of days. The three-hour window gives us some flexibility in getting the thread up but still puts it up early enough that it's fairly reasonable for everyone.
...at least, in theory. (In practice it's still coming up in the afternoon a lot, but when I signed up to help make sure this was going to run smoothly when we brought it back, I didn't expect to still be working on moving out, three weeks later.)
Sigh... I made the mistake of trying to clean it up a bit and it bugged out and messed up the post even more. Is there a MOD that can fix the DCC post?
This seems to be a more appropriate place to post about it.
So who's bad at reading? This guy. After my flailing yesterday (6 votes. Sigh.), I (briefly) read over the rules, and thought that it was 3 votes maximum. So, if at all possible, I'd like to avoid the disqualification (and the frankly terrifying prospect of potential warning/infraction in the future, although I'm never going to screw up like that again.) by taking back my vote for luminum_can. If not, it was fun, sorry for not reading the rules, and have a nice month. =D

That's fine Lanxal, unless one of the organizers says differently.
I decided to add the vote totals from the previous day in the scores, for reference's sake. So if Player1 has 30 points and got 5 votes yesterday, the entry is "Player1 30 (+5)". I bolded Rudyard's total because it includes the bonus points for having the most votes.
Also, I updated the Rules section where it said "anyone can post a new card for the day" to make sure they know that they need to make the poll multiple choice.
Today's vote was tough, there were a half-dozen different cards I wanted to vote for.
Also, I'm only just now noticing that a person gets bonus points for getting the most votes each day. I'd glossed over that before and never bothered double-checking the point totals.
Huh, odd that so many ooze cards popped up today lol. I honestly just went to the bottom of the page and went through a couple cards till I came upon the one I entered.
