EDIT: @MDenham: I'm surprised you didn't require each submission to be a different Rarity, too.
I'm not that much of a dick. Besides, the "different rarity" thing was covered in round 2.
(Though there is one more rarity-based challenge coming up. I'm pretty sure everyone's caught on to the "each round has an additional card", so I'm not really spoiling anything by saying that the other rarity-based challenge is, effectively, half a booster pack.)
I'm not sure anyone got what I was trying to do with my lands last round thematically, so I thought I'd just share that they were all references to ancient religious and philosophical texts. (I got the idea from Socrates' name :D)
Polis in particular was a reference to Plato's work, the Republic.
I'd like to tentatively add my name for hosting duties, with the caveat that I would not be able to run October, even if no one else is available. I'll do the first available after that (or November, if needed), but I'd like to have enough time to prep some good story/flavor.

May your games be chaotic and your decks be Rogue.
It's not a cancel though. It's "counter target instant or sorcery spell" which is like a 'bad' Negate. I Didn't make it modal because then it would take up like 5 lines and be a lot uglier lol. Good point on the copy thing though, I forgot about that.
Fair point on the Cancel comparison; withdrawn.
It's still too cheap at 3 mana, though, and sadly sometimes ugly wording is necessary

Yeah, I'll concede the wording point (but it doesn't actually lose functionality so ?), but how is it too cheap? Yes it's versatile, but all the abilities are 2 mana tops; letting one card do any shouldn't push it past 3.

Maokun, thanks for your commentary - I did struggle to get a rare that hit both my flavour goals and mechanical ones, and the final submission was not ideal.
However, my pride won't let me let slide your comment that my card is "very badly worded", as it's worded correctly.
Whenever another creature enters the battlefield under your control, if Sangrell's Predator's power is less than that creature's power, put +1/+1 counters on Sangrell's Predator equal to the difference.
The wording here is based on Damia, Sage of Stone. Also, I think from one of your comments you misunderstood how the ability works - a Spider token would make Predator a 2/2, and an Ape would make it a 3/3. It matches the power of the new creature, not exceeds it. You need an intervening-if clause to make it only trigger on larger creatures, and you need to call out the card's name twice to avoid confusion over which creature gets the counters.

Eh, haven't netted one top 3 yet, so, my bet is I won't be progressing a round. So, might as well post some critique responses. First off, good call on the Prince causing infinite loops with me using the term "player" instead of "opponent". Second, the point on turning all your creatures into Ravenous Rats is also a valid point. Those I am cool with losing points on. Though, beyond those points, these cards are all multicolored, including a multicolored common. That implies a multicolored set. Multicolored sets always have higher degrees of complexity. More complicated cards with moving parts are acceptable.
Summons: Grave Exchange = Common. That was the justification for Nihoh's Summons being common. Also, Grave Exchange didn't see much play at all in my experience, even in limited environments. This fact makes me skeptical that my card would be too powerful. Also, how does garruk's companion combo with Garruk's abilities? How does chandra's fury combo with Chandra's abilities? They don't. The common planeswalker spells are supposed to be imitations of the planeswalker abilities so that they will combo with the other planeswalker spells.
Ambition: Liliana's Caress was a build-around-me enchantment, and neither one is any odder than the other. Garruk's Packleader provided a similar amount of card advantage (sans the Ravenous Rats thing). My planeswalker puts creatures on the battlefield, likes creatures on the battlefield, and makes players sacrifice creatures. How does the enchantment not relate to him?
Prince: Yeah, you guys got me on this one.
Did you not consider how the planeswalker would play? He's a control card that makes your opponent have to choose between bad or worse. Use the +1 ability. If they choose to sacrifice a creature, he's doing his work and you are likely to not need to use his board wipe. If it comes down to the fact that they're sacrificing a creature each turn and either you or he is still dying, then you don't have any creatures and need to wipe the field, hence, you naturally fire off that board wipe, thereby protecting him- and yourself. Once the board is clear or thin, the opponent will agonize about giving you a creature or losing one of his own. Either the board will remain clear and in your control, giving you time to find a new win condition, or they will actually give you a creature and thereby give you a win condition. Once that starts happening, it goes from one creature to three to a game you've already won as you swing through and then life drain them. The plus ability gives enough variance to make him an interesting card and a win condition, the low minus costs on the other two abilities make it so that he will stick around a long time and be difficult to deal with, and the different abilities interact in such a way that he is a reliable card. Yes, he's applicable when you're behind on creatures and when you have the advantage on creatures. Those are two opposite ends of a spectrum, yes. The fact that he helps you at both ends is a sign of versatility, not being weird. Also, it's a very, very powerful card, capable of board wiping again and again, while cranking out an army of 2/2 flyers for the win. Of course it's got to be expensive, are you crazy?
Maokun, my planeswalker's ult does not go infinite. You do not keep casting spells from it; it's a one-time thing. It lets you cast any number of spells, and then that's it. It's like Chandra Ablaze's ultimate; you cast any number of spells once and that's it.

Ah, you are right. Anyway, I gave you first place already so it doesn't change anything.
You, on the other hand, apparently didn't take the time to properly understand almost any of my cards!

Disciple is a fair common, but I don't like weird esoteric abilities on commons. This doesn't do anything special unless you get it from like a Green Sun's Zenith or something (although if you do, it is crazy) and a half-useless ability like that doesn't deserve to really go on a common, I don't think. Tries too hard to synergise with the planeswalker.
uh... it also triggers from any "flickering" which is a pretty common effect nowadays? saying that the interaction with the planeswalker is forced basically says the same of cards of this type that Wizards has printed. Not to mention it also benefits from being reanimated or put into play with my rare card or with Bloodbraid Elf, etc, etc.
Uncovation (what kind of word is that, even? A play on invocation?) is way too clever for its own good. It literally does nothing 90% of the time and is a blue (?!?) hate card for tutors. What even. Should cantrip or something with that kind of cost.
Yes, Unvocation is a quite obvious play on words, something that wizards does all time. Now let me give you an incomplete list of things that this card counters:
-Flickering (meaning that it also comboes with my PW's second ability)
-Reanimation
-Cascade
-Summon effects a-la Green Sun's Zenith
-Tokens
-Ninjutsu
-Undying/Persist
-A long list of cards that put cards from your hand or library or let you cast from the graveyard or from exile.
In addition, it stops all such cards that would enter the field in a given turn, meaning it hoses multiple token production, cards like Ghostway or Warp World, Liliana Vess' ultimate, etc. etc. Just as an example, in the current enviroment, it would be a fair tool against reanimation decks, flickering decks, token decks, selesnya decks, etc. and if you take a little time going back the last several years, you'll see how it's able to stop a main theme from each block. It's narrow, yes, as all hosers have to be- but far, far from useless or underpowered.
The planeswalker doesn't really seem to have synergy or cohesion as a card and is kinda... meh. The ult is lame and doesn't do anything, the +1 is an interesting tempo-for-mana trade (although cool with guys that cost less than 1 mana) and the -X is really the only good ability. This is all on a 5 mana walker? ._.
Perhaps you are missing that the first ability can be used with your mana open, meaning that following the curve, you can turn a 4 mana creature into a 10 mana creature? It's a fixed Food Chain which is a extremely powerful ability. The -x ability can also be used on your own creatures as a sort of delayed flickering. Finally, the ultimate protects your cards against:
-Targeted removal or damage
-Being countered, copied or redirected while they are in the stack
-Being exiled or stolen from a graveyard.
Basically, you'll be playing mostly unimpeded for the rest of the game. Just giving Hexproof to your permanents costs 5 mana and this does much more. I don't see how that's "nothing" in your words.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Good news: Three more days until it starts!
