Ok, should have stepped in sooner, I'm in charge of these situations. Anyhow, my current plan is to cut to Top 8 after this, then cut to finals from the Top 8. If you have any objections, please let me know, but I don't want to have June running till the end of July, especially with the other stuff I have going on.
I think future policy will be to take over if 2 days pass after the host should have posted a new round.
I guess we're getting close enough that if too many people decide to host, I'll lose my usual hunting grounds (though with the way things are, that seems like a non-issue D= )... I hereby forever claim the October CCL as my own. >_>
Overall, nice job on the cards and the theme. You might want to work on how you raritize (not a word, I know) your cards though
Oddly enough I originally had them at the rarities you suggested, but I play a lot of limited and while one is a slight bit more complex than the other, swinging for 4+ in the air, on a 2-mana guy is a lot more powerful than Indexing so I switched them.
I'd like to petition for people that don't post a card for a given round to simply be removed from the contest. Sure there can be some kind of appeal clause in there in case there's a legitimate reason but there are a lot of people playing now and I feel it would just clean up the thread (and critique posts) a lot easier.
It was wonderful that MirrorEntity quoted all the cards we'd be critiquing this time (the effort you've put into this round both to help us and to give us great flavour is phenomenal and I appreciate it) but that isn't always the case and searching through over and over looking for a post that doesn't exist because player x dropped off the face of the planet last round is time consuming, especially when the critiques can take up a decent amount of time to begin with.
Has anyone offered to pick this up yet? If not I'll do my best.

1. Design a new Ravnica mechanic for one of the old guilds and make a card around it.
2.Design a mono-colored card using two Ravnica mechanics that both come from the color you're using.
3. Blow up a land.

It's going to take me a few hours to get this prepped, especially due to an element ME wanted in the second Round, but it should be ready to go within 24 hours.
EDIT: Round 2 Submission thread is up here. Some twists and turns await those still embroiled in the Great Chaos.
Wouldn't a simple Diabolic Edict effect technically fulfill the "give an opponent a choice" requirement? Not trying to be difficult or boring, just wondering.
Diabolic Edict isn't a choice when the opponent has only one creature. The "choice" is meant to be one thing bad for them vs another, different bad thing for them. Like a Fact or Fiction revealing no lands and worlds of hurt.

To be difficult, Molten Influence isn't a choice when the opponent is at 4 or less life ^_^.
EDIT: And hey, if I'm being difficult, simply attacking provides an opponent with choices.

Molten Influence is still a choice in that scenario. It's choice between losing now or later. Unless they invested in preciousmetals.
And the combat example isn't being difficult. Designing a card that says "Target opponent sacrifices all permanents he or she controls unless any opponent concedes the game" is being difficult.

So... cards (like Diabolic Edict) that give opponents a "choice" that can sometimes not be a choice don't count? If this is true, it should be updated in the challenges. My entry won't meet this challenges requirements?
Replicator's Mischief5UU
Sorcery (M)
Each player chooses a creature he or she controls. Each of that player's opponent's puts a token onto the battlefield that is a copy of the chosen creature. Repeat this process for artifacts and then enchantments.

I tried to convey what I consider negative "choice" cards via my examples. Ultimately, it'll be up to to the players on the other team to decide if your card fits the challenge or not.

Crit Thread is up. Links are provided to the Round 2 entry for the players that submitted them. Those that did not have been struck. After the reviews are in, it's cut to Top 8, and that thread should be up sometime on Sunday.

Put some critiques up. I liked some of the cards, but did not pass them through, on the grounds that they didn't meet the challenges. Sorry there folks.
[spoiler=Critiques] Cypher28 — That should be "card", not "spell" on that second ability, and no need for colon on the equip ability. I dislike tapping on an equipment, it always feels weird when you play with it. Unless I'm misunderstanding something, the choice between Vindicate and an expensive Cloudshift for you is ridiculous and isn't really a choice at all.
Its definitely not a Cloudshift. The card remains exiled until whenever you choose to return it. (Thus the tapping to avoid bringing back multiple at once, although you're right it should've been"equipped creature has etc etc..."). This means you can exile any card and bring it back as long as you have the two mana and the Spear open.

Link (card): I don't know if I've mentioned how much of a pain in the neck I think this day/night mechanic is. On a different note, I'm not sure how "each player reveals his or her hand" interacts with "players play with their hands revealed", but I suspect there's a distinct lack of synergy. (I can't track down anything relevant in the rules.)
Did anything about the challenge require synergy? The challenge states that the card must tie "mechanically or thematically" to the plane. Obviously, I chose thematically.
Oh, alright. I'm totally fine with a low score just because of Day/Night. It's very... yeah. Controversial? Bad? Something.
My problem with it is that it adds complexity without really adding much of anything else, based on the cards I've seen to date.
If I'd started working on a mechanic like that, I'd probably have put up a thread in the main CCC forum with a few examples that showed what else it added to the game, and then either put links to that thread with each card in the contests, or stuck a link to the thread in my sig.
Not going to have time to start Round 3/Top 8 until late tomorrow night, so I am extending Crits for another 24 hours to allow more people to at least post a Top 5.
Sorry for the delay.
EDIT: Tabulating scores now; should have Top 8 Thread up in a few hours. As a hint for next rounds topic, Chaos shall beget madness.

Well, that and it looks kind of fishy if I run it and participate at the same time.
