Rudyard: I believe Eventide's criticism is right in the spot. Not only, as he said, the effects feel red, the lack of creature type is an omission and not a feature. It should have been a spirit. It may seem like a minor detail, until you realize it was one of the mandatory requirements.
The ability that makes it a spirit is a characteristic defining ability. Just like how changelings are all creature types all the time (though they're shapeshifters in the typeline for flavor reasons only despite the redundancy). So, it fulfills the requirement of being a spirit half the time. But I'll admit, that point is an issue of when it fulfills the requirement, so it's debatable.
Well, you could have made it more close to the spirit of the competition, and have it be a Spirit always and then "evolve" into Spirit Warrior or something. I also believe that "devolve" goes a bit against the whole flavor of the round's challenge.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Team Agyrem stands as a tale of self-improvement and the importance of never giving up: CodGod had a disastrous first round and ended first of his team. By the end of round 2 and with only one round left, Rudyard was last in the team, but still managed to end as second.
Anyhow, if you guys haven't voted in the CCL finals of the last month, please do so. If you already voted, some comments on the cards would be very much appreciated by both GM and me.

Predictably, some people didn't show. I know brasil_dude101 is still around and has worked up ideas for October, but you can move down to November and bump down the other people if you like, RPTS.
@Magic Brains: No card has ever, nor probably ever will remove emblems. A card designed specifically to hose the last ability of a mythic rare card (assuming you've had time to build it up to use the ultimate) is pretty limited.

@MagicBrains: Nothing directly removes an emblem from the Command Zone (yet). Something may eventually do so, but it would likely be a global effect that includes the Command Zone.
@RPTS: Karn Liberated removes emblems by restarting the game, but that's an indirect effect.

+1: Sacrifice a Goblin. If you do, CARDNAME deals 3 damage to target creature or player.
+0 : Put a 1/1 red Goblin creature token onto the battlefield.
-5: Sacrifice any number of Goblins. Put X 1/1 red Goblin creature tokens onto the battlefield, where X is twice the number of goblins you sacrificed this way.
@Twilight Kiwi: I see that you're waiting for late Top 3's in the Round 1 thread before calculating points, that's cool. When you do calc the points, can you indicate (maybe by Bold/Italic) who did submit Critiques and/or Top 3's in the previous round?
Just for my own curiosity really, I think only 4 of the "opposition" team did crits for Team Portal, which is kinda on the low side
You'll be able to tell; as per CCL rules, those who don't submit at least a Top 3 will be on probation, and failure to post a Top 3 while already on probation results in disqualification.

Was definitely a close one. Thanks to Ikeda for being a good rival, Maokun for holding a good month of interesting challenges, and everyone who competed for making the contest more fun.
Cool, thanks for working that out guys, I'm pretty busy with a new job and stuff. Went 3-1 at the prerelease after not being able to play in the earlier one.
I'll get the trophy request in soon, CodGod.

Now if I can manage to win August, that'll be some weird symmetry.

Thanks Kiwi for stepping up to take over, I'm not completely ready to run yet.
Also, has anything dealt with the REMOVAL of emblems?
This is for me more than it is for anyone else. I sucks at colors.

School has come crashing down on me (I messaged GM about this) so if you'd like to, feel free to take October.
Got it. Sign-ups will be up in a few days.
I'll get the trophy request in soon, CodGod.
