For the sake of transparency here is how grading will work this month:
Entrants have a chance of getting 100 points toward their score each round. Scores for each Round are determined by the following equation:
Point Total = 100*((Placement Points)/(3*Number of judges))
Placement points are awarded so that a 1st place judgment is worth 3 points, a 2nd place worth 2, and a 3rd place is worth 1.
The number of judges in this case is number of judges responsible for judging your entries who submitted top 3s
Bonus points for submitting critiques will be added on top of these scores
Additionally this month progression onto the next round will be based on a running total until the finals.
Its ineligible due to being able to create any color. this round were looking for cards that create a specific (as defined by the card) set of two, three, or even four colors (cluestones/keyrune/signets form ravnica, obelisks from alara, Druid of the Anima, Urborg Elf ect.)
Would the challenge read better as: "Design a non-land card that can add exactly two, three, or four specific colors of mana to your mana pool."?
I guess the problem was that I wasn't sure what the current standard was for scoring (I always thought it was weird that it wasn't more transparent) I should have asked rather than decreed
side note for those that want the bonus points for this March's CCL, as I am unable to view who voted and didn't vote, please post a critique, even something as abbreviated as Katamari's, in the voting thread so that I can get you your points.

How it works is once the poll is completed, the past host who created the poll thread can send you the names of those who voted. They can see all the names. It's not required to post.
That said, as finalists I know FreshMeat and I appreciate any feedback.

Correct. Although either kjsharp or I will send the list, feedback is encouraged.
The scoring math has been the subject of discussion many times - afaik the formulas in the OP should still work.
The important point was that everyone be given points based on the number of points they had available, factoring in missed critiques. If Player A only got critiqued twice and got 1st place both times, it's not fair if the number of points is the same as Player B who got 2nd three times but out of six critiques. That's why everything was percentalized (out of 100) per round.
All that says is that the mana ability can generate an equal or lesser amount than the initial ability cost. This is in addition to also producing more than the original ability costs. It doesn't really restrict anything.
IcariiFA and Antiantiserum have the correct interpretation, sorry for the unclear clarification. This challenge was apparently much harder to put into words than I anticipated.
That clause was basically to say that a card that filters mana is okay (which I guess I could have just said...)
Another note, as I'm still seeing two cards that don't quite meet the challenge:
WE are looking for a card that adds A/B, A/B/C, or A/B/C/D, but NOT A/B/C/D/E to your mana pool (where A,B,C,D,and E are different colors of mana)
Specifically:
if your card only adds 1 specific color of mana to your mana pool, you card does not meet the challenge
if your card has an effect that adds a variable color of mana to your mana pool (i.e. Charmed Pendant, Coldsteel Heart, Corrupted Grafstone, Elemental Resonance, ect) your card does not meet the challenge.
The scoring math has been the subject of discussion many times - afaik the formulas in the OP should still work.
The formula in the OP works wonderfully. I made an excel spreadsheet using the formula when I hosted. I also included a screenshot of the round's spreadsheet when I made the announcement of who made it through the round. I wish more people would do that for transparency's sake.
It would be cool if there was a link to an open spreadsheet for hosts to use. Something on Google Drive for instance. Although it might be difficult to maintain the integrity of said spreadsheet if it was usable by all. I'm pretty sure there's a way to lock the math going on in the background though. Is such a thing even possible? I'm not exactly Geek Squad material.

Only options I know for Google off the top of my head are that people with the link can view, view and comment, or view comment and edit.
I guess there used to be a doc linked but it apparently died.
Are points for providing critiques still included? It should just be:
(3x number of #1s + 2x number of #2s + 1x number of #3s + 2 pts if critiques)/(3x number of critiques given) x100
for the score each round.
I just realized that I posted this in the wrong discussion thread. This was meant for the MCC Discussion thread.
Sorry, I was running late to get my son to karate.
(2,5/3) Quality: There's no perfect example, but Chittering Host indicates that haste is listed before menace. There are only three other creatures that have both words in their text box, all listing a whole bunch of other abilites.
I feel like I'm explaining this on a monthly basis now but, menace definitely comes before haste in a single line of abilities that have no reminder text. The only reason haste comes first on Chittering Host is because menace has reminder text. The combination of Dire Fleet Ravager and Queen Marchesa show us that menace comes before haste if neither has reminder text. Here's a whole thing I wrote about it a couple of months ago.....
Flash
Defender, flying, first strike, double strike, menace, vigilance, reach, deathtouch, trample, lifelink, hexproof, indestructible, haste, protection from <name>
?Prowess?
Here's a synopsis of how I arrived at the list I did....
- The cards Akroma, Angel of Wrath and Chromanticore give a good baseline to start with. They show us the following order: Flying, first strike, vigilance, trample, lifelink, haste, protection from <name>.
That leaves us with the following keywords to figure out: defender, prowess, double strike, menace, reach, deathtouch, hexproof, and indestructible. Here's how I placed each of them...
Defender - Fog Bank shows us defender comes before flying. Simple. Double strike - Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas shows us that double strike comes before vigilance. Drogskol Reaver shows us it comes after flying. It's not possible to say for sure which comes first, first strike or double strike, but I think it makes sense that first strike would come first. Menace - Kari Zev, Skyship Raider shows us that menace comes after first strike, and Dire Fleet Ravager shows us that it comes before deathtouch, so it could fall anywhere in between those two abilities. I think it would come before vigilance and reach because it has to do with how the creature can be blocked, which seems to be given a lot of weight if flying is taken as an example. I'm actually surprised it doesn't come between flying and first strike, like the ability (intimidate) it replaced did.I'm not sure the crossed out sentence is true. All that can be said for sure is, intimidate came somewhere between flying and trample, as can be seen on Withengar Unbound. Reach - Ramunap Hydra shows us reach comes after vigilance. Deadly Recluse shows us that it comes before deathtouch. I think Deadly Recluse can be trusted because both abilities have their reminder text. Deathtouch - Deadly Recluse shows that deathtouch comes after reach. Gifted Aetherborn shows us that it comes before lifelink. It is impossible to say whether deathtouch comes before or after trample, but I think deathtouch coming before trample would make more sense for a card that had both (which has never been printed). Hexproof - Ormendahl, Profane Prince shows us that indestructible comes after lifelink. Insidious Mist shows us that hexproof comes before indestructible. Indestructible - Insidious Mist shows us that indestructible comes after hexproof. Hazoret the Fervent shows us that it comes before haste. Prowess - This one is impossible to say because Wizards has yet to print a card with prowess that doesn't include the reminder text (as least not that I could find). I put it where I did because I felt like it. Which is why I list it separately from everything else.
I did this as quickly as I could, so please excuse an errors or omissions. I hope my reasoning for the list makes sense. If there is anything glaringly wrong with the list, or my reasoning behind it, please feel free to respond. It would be cool to make this list as accurate as possible.
Edit: I changed the list so that prowess was listed separately from everything else. I don't want to give anybody using the list for reference to get the wrong idea. I'm also unsure about my placement of menace, although I'm all but certain it comes between first strike and deathtouch. I'm pretty confidant about the rest of it.
(2,5/3) Quality: There's a doubling in the flavor text in "is more is more". No other flaws detected.
This is a site flaw. If you quote my post, you will see that my flavor text does not contain this flaw, but for some reason the site doesn't diplay it correctly in my post. Here's a quote of my post that shows that the error was corrected.....

Destroy up to two target creatures with converted mana cost two or less. The loss of one parent is difficult enough, losing both is more than most can bear.
I jump ahead of two people if these scoring mistakes are corrected.

Somehow I still feel like I don't understand the parameters of the challenge. Is it okay if something adds CBG to your mana pool?
And would the following card pass the challenge even though it itself doesn't add mana but creates things that do? Summon the Shamans2RG
Sorcery (U)
Create two 1/1 red and green Elf Shaman creatures with haste and " , add R or G."
CBG is fine, it adds more than one distinct color and can't add all 5 distinct colors, even a card that added CWUBR would be fine as colorless is not a color
technically the 2nd card does not qualify\
As of 1:36 PM PST all cards that that have been posted in round 2 meet the challenge. so good job on that people!
The round is still ongoing and will be for another couple days - the finalists are both busy with March's contests as well.
