I appreciate the design you were trying to accomplish with this card, but unfortunately Suspend is a sorcery-speed ability and so you can't Suspend Forbidding Arts in response to anything. The only thing I can think of to adapt is to change the suspend trigger to a delayed trigger along the lines of "When you suspend Forbidding Arts, the next time an opponent would cast a spell this turn, counter that spell." but as it is, it unfortunately doesn't work.
No, this is wrong. See the CR:
702.61a Suspend is a keyword that represents three abilities. The first is a static ability that functions while the card with suspend is in a player’s hand. The second and third are triggered abilities that function in the exile zone. “Suspend N—[cost]” means “If you could begin to cast this card by putting it onto the stack from your hand, you may pay [cost] and exile it with N time counters on it. This action doesn’t use the stack,” and “At the beginning of your upkeep, if this card is suspended, remove a time counter from it,” and “When the last time counter is removed from this card, if it’s exiled, play it without paying its mana cost if able. If you can’t, it remains exiled. If you cast a creature spell this way, it gains haste until you lose control of the spell or the permanent it becomes.”
Please indicate on the mannequin where it says "sorcery."
Can I get a rules clarification please? Hemlock brought it to my attention that one of the rules regarding suspend in the rulebook states: "702.61b A card is “suspended” if it’s in the exile zone, has suspend, and has a time counter on it." Now, Hemlock interpreted that to mean that whenever a card with Suspend in its rules box is exiled and has time counters on it, the card automatically has Suspend. That would be interpreting Suspend as an ability, not merely an alternate cost of sorts as I had been interpreting it. Do others agree that Hemlock's 1st round card works as intended, or does it need the phrase, as seen on Delay "It gains Suspend"?
Mainly asking for my own edification. Thanks!

It doesn't.
The point of reference you are looking for is the Arc Blade cycle. Cards that already have suspend and re suspended themselves do not need "It gains suspend" because it already has it.
Instead of "enchant land", can the card enchant a specific land type? "Enchant Forest" for instance. Can it say "Enchant land you don't control"?
I'll allow this one, since it's in the Spirit of the Challenge (tm): The idea is to design a permanent that can attach to a land and only a land. I said "enchant land" because saying "Aura that can be attached to a land" would have allowed people to make enchant permanents.
For some reason, I can't see any of the mana symbols in any of the threads. Is anybody else having this issue, or is there something going on with my computer? It just started happening within the last hour.
Sorry. I have a bad habit of assuming everyone in these threads is male. I'm trying to break myself of that habit.
Edit: Congrats Hemlock!

Yeah, I just switched to my other computer and everything looks fine, so it's definitely a problem on my end. Thanks for the response void.

Is there any place I can go to find out anything about Commander 2018? I can't find much about it yet, and I'm wondering if I'm supposed to be designing with anything more in mind than just "Make a legend that could be the face of a Commander deck"?

There's a decent chance I won't be able to finalize my finals entry tonight. I apologize for this, and understand if it is too late to ask for an extension. I'll try my best to finish up by midnight.

I am a bit confused now that I see the entries for January starting. The way I read the prompt, I thought we needed to use a creature type and/or subtype that hadn't been done before. Was I incorrect?
From how I understand it, you are indeed incorrect. We use existing creature subtypes but we choose a type that doesn't already have existing support cards. (Or very few support cards within reason.)
So I assume that, since the final poll hasn't been posted yet, my request for for an extension has been excepted? Again, I apologize for the delay. My wife and I went out of town for the weekend, and it turned out to be a little more hectic than I envisioned. But I'm home now, and will finish up my entry ASAP. Is it safe to assume that new deadline is tonight at midnight?
