Snow Creature - Zombie Hound (U)
Undead Sled Team gets +1/+1 and has haste as long as you control 2 or more Snow permanents. "A tireless team to traverse the tundra? Sign me up!" 2/2
Doubt is valid the idea of a card represents the transition beteewn winter to spring season??
That's fine as long as it doesn't explicitly violate the main challenge. Of course, you'll have to hope whatever judge you get is pleased in order to get top marks in the flavor category, but that always applies.

I don't have the time to reliably judge so if necessary I can instead drop from playing if required to make it easier for the judges we will hopefully have.
My judgement for the final round of last month is in.

Bravelion, I agree with your judgements in general, but there is one point I disagree with this go round. Regardless of a score change, I feel it's important to point out.
(2/3) Flavor - The name is very good. No flavor text. MSE shows a couple lines could have fit, but the cards looks indeed better without it. Because of that, and because of how good the name is and how well the card concept makes sense, I'll give you a little more than the half points I normally give in these cases.
Out of the four entries, do you objectively think the flavor of my entry is the weakest? I conveyed and translated Excalibur without naming it and the flavor of the idea rings in each line of the card. Just because there is room for flavor text, doesn't mean there should be. Your judgement seems to sympathize with the idea that the card does well without it, is perhaps better without it. But you "technically" have to score me down because I could have fit flavor text. Do you see it as weaker than the other three entries, which you scored higher? With no disrespect to the other finalist, I don't think the numbers here reflect whose card had the weakest flavor.
If you prefer a more technical point there is also the card which the ability it is derived from, True-Name Nemesis, doesn't have flavor text and would of had more room than my card for it.
I express this viewpoint with no disrespect, but am curious as to your reasoning.
@IcariiFA: It was way easier than you make it sound. The way I judge (and that's just my own personal way) is that in Flavor I allocate by default half points (1.5) for the name and the other half for the flavor text, unless there's anything else major going on but that's not your case. Having no flavor text means I don't give the latter half while I gave the full 1.5 for the name. Seeing the other things I mentioned (the name being very good and the card actually looking better in the frame without flavor text, just like True-Name Nemesis), I gave you an extra half a point (that's what my last sentence is referring to). I actually thought to give you one whole point more instead and give you a 2.5 total just out of how much I like the name and general concept, even if I didn't catch that this was meant to be a version of Excalibur. It was more maths than anything else really. And no, your flavor was definitely not the weakest in the round. Like, not at all. You're right that the Flavor score should not give that impression. On second thought, I think I'll adjust the scores and give you that 2.5 indeed. Thanks for the feedback anyway.
@everyone: In other news, I just realized I made a wrong copy and paste yesterday and accidentally overwrote the round OP with my judgments. That's been fixed now. I apologize for the mistake.

No problem, we're all just human after all. There is one last thing I should have said but I forgot to say: your card has a very good flavor, that's true, but while it meets the letter of the challenge (that's why you didn't lose any points for this), it wasn't the best fit in a month that flavorfully was meant to make you experience the rebellion on Kaladesh firsthand. My intention was that this was an invention, your invention of a lifetime, but the sword of a monarch isn't exactly the best fit for that. You don't "invent" a sword, but you may "forge" it or something like that. Still, that was just the intended flavor of the round and was not a challenge requirement (intentionally, to leave it as open as it could be), so no problems about this. It was just something I felt like pointing out. Maybe I'll make the intended flavor part of the challenge the next time I host. Oh well, I'll think about it then.

(2/3) Flavor: The flav text is pretty decent, but the name doesn't really make sense for me.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (sometimes referred to as "winter blues") is a state of depression that occurs in otherwise mentally healthy individuals only during certain times of the year, most frequently the winter. It is theorized by some that the lack of sunlight through the winter in some areas causes a person's serotonin levels to drop, thus causing depression. Doctors will often prescribe UV light therapy to those suffering from S.A.D. My card is trying to convey the idea that there is a plane in which the peak winter season brings a prolonged period of darkness, much like the "polar night" seen here in the polar circles of Earth. This prolonged darkness tends to cause S.A.D. in many individuals on this plane. Here's a link to the Wikipedia page pertaining to S.A.D......https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_affective_disorder I hope this help to make the name make more sense for you.

Quick check for round two:
- Subchallenge 1: Your card is not green, nor does it produce green mana.
- Remark: Producing mana of any color fails the first subchallenge.
So the subchallenges does not allow the card to generate green mana, the remark does not allow the card to generate ANY mana. That's really confusing.
Designing lands that don't generate mana is something MaRo mentioned multiple times is generally avoided nowadays. Fetchlands are an exception, but then again, we don't want a round full of fetchlands just to pass the first subchallenge in case people choose to design lands, don't we?
Uh, I thought it was pretty clear that this meant "T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool." Tapping for anything more restrictive than that clearly passes the challenge.

I was nearly finished with judgments last night when my browser crashed and I lost them. Going to redo them very quickly now and close the round/open round 3.
To be honest I felt really bad for this bracket because everyone did such an amazing job and it was picking needles and a bit of a Sophie's choice - so tremendous job here Leo, I think the details you picked were definitely accurate.
Many thanks. If you felt bad, just guess how bad I felt as I read your cards... I immediately knew I couldn't solve it without resorting to details, but luckily I'm quite good at that, it just comes natural to me. I still feel bad for PsyOp, they didn't deserve elimination at all. And yes, I would have said the same for everyone in my bracket, one of the hardest I've ever seen. No one deserved elimination among the three of you, but I had to make a choice as judge. You three have done the tremendous job, not me.

• The two public custom sets I've been part a part of the design team for:
"Brotherhood of Ormos" - Blog post with all info - set thread - design skeleton / card list || "Extinctia: Homo Evanuit" - Blog post with all info - set thread - card list spreadsheet
• "The Lion's Lair", my article series about MTG and custom card design in particular. Latest article here. Here is the article index. Rather outdated by now, and based on the old MCC rubric, but I'm leaving this here for anybody that might be interested anyway.
• My only public attempt at being a writer: the story of my Leonin custom planeswalker Jeff Lionheart. (I have a very big one that I'm working on right now but that's private for now, and I don't know if I will ever actually publish it, and I also have ideas for multiple future ones, including one where I'm going to reprise Jeff.)
So... Your bracket have 5 finalists?
It certainly does - that's how ties work in the MCC. You're in round 2, in other terms.

Uh, I thought it was pretty clear that this meant "T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool." Tapping for anything more restrictive than that clearly passes the challenge.

Thanks for the clarification, that is one extra point.
Hope that Raptorchan still goes through, it's my fault for not responding sooner.
Raptorchan is still eligible due to being eligible on points at the moment the second round began.
