Slumbering is a bad idea for a mechanic. Serra Avenger was an alright card, but even then it's easy to forget what turn it is. The card itself is also way too strong for a common.

Counter target spell with converted mana cost 5 or more. The bigger they are, the harder they explode into pretty sparkles.
I'm pretty sure this is completely unplayable. If it was one mana and hit CMC 4+ it would be, but as it stands this card's just going to sit in your hand. Lastly, it doesn't have anything do to with curving out, as most counterspells do.

I like this design! I'm imagining a casual deck where you go turn 1 Swamp, Dark Ritual, Dread Revenant, One with Nothing. This fits the challenge in a creative way, and the card itself is interesting. Do I dump my hand early so as to make this big, or do I play it now as a 4/4? Nice entry.

Okay, so I see that you made it a 4/3. You missed an opportunity to use threshold here. Also, the card's just fine played on curve because you can get threshold later.

Cute design, but playing this card off-curve is probably a little weaker because creatures are more likely to die as the game goes on.
