An unusual, but simple little counterspell. It's surprising Retort isn't already a card.

Whenever you cast a creature spell, you may return Moyolecotzin to its owner's hand. If you do, target creature gets -6/-0 until end of turn.

Moyolectozin, meaning "She who creates herself". Outside of the admittedly odd name and creature type, this is a relatively printable uncommon, and could serve as an important enabler for the "whenever you cast a creature spell" theme that it represents.

Dapper Cummerbund 1

Equipped creature gains handsome (It must be blocked by non-handsome creatures if Dapper Cummerbund is untapped.)

A lot of cards with goofy names come and go, but most don't make the list. This one, however is very special. The idea that handsome works like this is absurd, but the card itself is really quite elegant. Debonair. Dapper, even.

This is a really cool take on Bad Moon type, two-sided effects. This is a card made for multiplayer, and it can give you some interesting political opportunities.

I'm not entirely sure why she's red or green, but it seems to work. Maybe she used to be Jeskai, but moved to Aenyr (in Temur country). My favorite thing about this card is that you can use it as a Rummaging Goblin if there's nothing tapped. Theft of Dreams is a really powerful ability to have on a spellshaper, and this could be pretty nasty as a commander.

Gix's Doom Engine (2/B)

This is the epitome of suicide-aggro. It hits you for an average of 3 for every one attack, and a squirrel token can stop it, but a 4/1 for 1 should be risky. As a bonus, it plays for 2 in a mono-red deck. This card has chutzpah with its drawback, not like the wimpy black-aggro cards we get these days. Dread Wanderer gets it easy.

Snarling Two-Timer RR

This is an interesting color pie blur. Generally, the City of Solitude thing is green, but it really works here, and triggering off the attack seems suitably red. This card feels so specific that it almost seems like part of a vertical cycle.

Almost no card makes it to this many words while maintaining this level of cohesiveness. Not only does this operate as a card (discounting some minor wording imperfections), but it has strong balance and working flavor, and it even makes developmental sense. This card is obviously set in Shadowmoor or Innistrad to go along with a discard-matters theme. The card unintentionally seems to reference both Cathodian and Voldaren Pariah. Truly, this is a masterwork of collaborative card-making.

Bridge to the Wild 2GG

If a creature would be put onto the battlefield, instead put it on the bottom of its owner’s library. Its owner creates a token copy of it.

The award goes to Bridge to the Wild. No one person would have ever thought to design this card with this mana cost and name, but every part fits. This is a really fascinating design that would almost certainly be a jank rare, but has wonderful implications. Truly a wonderful design.
