I'm very much on the fence about Encase; it's a mechanic that requires a lot of memory, particularly because you need to note the state change every time a new spell is cast. In addition, it triggers only with noncreature spells, so there's the added bit of potential confusion there.

Hmm, honestly I don't think it would take that much tracking to make Encase work. All you'd need to keep track is which permanents ETBd after the last Encase trigger (To solve that, I thought of ways to Encase creatures to "copy" the Encased colors, but that would be a rulings nightmare). Once you do that, there's only one Encased set of colors for all permanents at all times.
In the other hand, having it trigger off Creatures just doesn't works - it would be impossible to keep a color Encased for more than one turn, and even more so to build a deck around it. Missing triggers doesn't makes it any harder than Prowess.
In another unrelated note, 75% of our pack is noncreatures. We need to up the Creature count ASAP.
