People do not seem to understand this game. You are meant to combine two mechanics into one mechanic. What people are doing is putting two mechanics on one card. That game exists already.
Let me show you some examples:
If you get to combine evoke and persist, you do not make a card with evoke and persist, you make a card with disfigure (which is based on evoke and persist):

That card has very little in common with Persist or Evoke: Persist allows a creature to come back from the graveyard and and Evoke forces you to sacrifice the creature right away.
Also you should probably go for complex mechanics and keywords rather than basic effects - e. g. above you have PUMP and DAMAGE PREVENTION, which I would classify as effects rather than mechanics.
You can classify them however you like, but they're still mechanics. What you mean are called "keyword mechanics", but I'd suggest that combining full keyword mechanics into something new is far more difficult and unlikely than combining simple mechanics, as your Persist/Evoke example shows.
I will try harder to combine the given mechanics, though. For a few of my cards above, I gave up on merging the mechanics and settle on just having them interact in a new way.
