This + Any mana that isn't a forest or island and taps for 1 >> Infinite mana. (For those of you who can't tell, that's turn 2 inf mana).
This is due to the fact that the ability doesn't require you to have a forest or an island (because it doesn't target the land). So having two non-basic lands (this plus one more) means that you won't need to return any lands back to your hand, and therefore can activate it once without fear.
That being said, it is completely broken, and should be changed.

This + any land.
Tap the land for mana. Spend that mana to activate this card's ability. It produces GU. If you have a forest or an island, you will return it to your hand at this time. Now you have two mana, and a way to make that two mana turn into three, into four, etc. and forever.

It would surely be you, dear wife."
But when an ability resolves, if it can't complete all of its requirements, it does as much as possible. Once the ability resolves and you have no islands/forests in play, you can just keep using it.
EDIT: Nath'd, just like in the rules forum :P.

Take a mechanic from the pre-mirrodin era, and a mechanic after the mirrodin era, and create a card that flavorfully melds both mechanics.
I'm confused. You were the one who thought it wasn't broken?
