This was a ten player card creation game... the numbers shall dwindle until there is only one... The Monarch!
The Rules:
First (10 person) sign up - First ten players are in.
Each round will be judged by me and the eliminated player of the previous round. The eliminated player chooses the next challenge and helps me judge. The worst score of each round is eliminated.
So if you have the lowest score, be a good sport and help me with the next round.
The last person standing is the winner, and will have his/her favorite card of the competition displayed here: The Monarch of Card creation... Asrama.
Cards will be scored on a scale of 1 to 10: I will be looking for originality, playability, balance, and overall wowness.
Ok sign ups are on! Only sign up if you are willing to continue this game for a few weeks. These elimination games take 2-3 weeks if they are efficiently run.. I will run this efficiently.
Mental Misstep Hysteria sweeps the nation! Legacy format to never be the same! Wizards releases new card made of space-age polymers and Tang, infused with the DNA of Ramses II, Alexander the Great, and Joe Montana! Every Legacy deck to begin “4 Mental Misstep and 56 other, less exciting cards” forever more!
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
That is the 10! Round 1! This is the only round where I have to be sole judge. The rest of the rounds, the previous eliminated person please help with judging... (PS: I considered having everyone keep judging, but I think the logistics of that will be a little more difficult.)
Players: Asrama kay X Maokun SnoopYah KrtZer0

Scoring: Cards will be scored on a scale of 1 to 10: I will be looking for originality (2.5), playability (2.5), balance (2.5), and overall wowness (2.5)

I liked the only produced by creature mana idea, but I think that it really weakens the card's playability. It is pretty well balanced, but it has to be in a limited number of decks. In limited, it would have to be a specific set for this to work. Wowness lost some points because I felt that Cat Warrior was an odd creature type for the art, it doesn't quite accord with WOTC ideas of cat warriors.

There is nothing too exciting about the mechanics on this card. I like the flavor, of a beast controller. That makes sense. It is pretty playable in a heavy beast type enviroment. I like the planeswalker angle on this card. I think it is difficult to make a good planeswalker though. I think if this were printed it would have trouble with microtext to fit all that flavor on the card.. That hurt you in the wowness. The other problem I had with this card, is that a planeswalker would be able to single handedly defeat an opponent. Just that card, with nothing else in play, should have the abilty to win the game somehow. This one is dependant upon lands, which also does not relate so storngly to the art on the card.
