I contacted him a couple days ago. It'll be several more days before he can get to his judging. It's such a close contest I value his judgings, but I don't want to pressure him if he's got other commitments. I didn't want to end the round immediately after JqlGirl posted her scores to give her time to make adjustments if she wished. I'll probably officially declare the winner tomorrow.
Yeah, I wasn't expecting a winner until after Jaxal posted because it's so close. Until then, I suppose I'll keep biting my nails...
Asking out a girl is like trying to cast a first turn Necropotence. Sometimes the other player will have the Force of Will to say no. You shouldn't let that stop you from trying it.

My long-delayed judgings are up. I apologize for the delay, but last week was eaten by a deadline that occasionally actually pays me, so it took precedence.
No apologies necessary. The judgings are much appreciated. I'm much happier to be able to declare a winner by a margin of larger than 1 point, which I couldn't do before. But now I can. So I will.
Congratulations Dragoon26!

Jaxal, just to question a few elements for future reference:

Flavor 3.5/5: I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but somehow it still feels cohesive.
Lol...thanks?

Quality 1.5/4: This card doesn't work: Modes must be chosen before targets (since modes can affect what is targeted, even if they don't on your particular card). This needs a 'choose an opponent' wording or something more awkward.
Um, ouch. So you're saying that I needed something like:
"T, Choose target opponent: That player chooses one - [Opt A]; or [Opt B]."?
Bleh, that does sorta sound dumb, doesn't it? Ah well, thanks for the feedback.
Yep, except you can't target as a cost (just replace 'target' with 'an'.) I think the least-awkward wording would be something like 'An opponent of your choice chooses one -'.

Okay, I'm curious (assuming anyone is still reading here). It's not that I didn't like Dragoon's card - I did, a lot (hence, in part, the 5 on flavor). But I'm curious why other judges didn't feel:
1) Because the drawback was so easily overcome, the balance wasn't in question.
2) Because this is allowing mono-black to remove enchantments and artifacts, there wasn't a problem in balance, here, too.

This is our last dance, this is ourselves under pressure.
Just one last question before the FCC goes completely under:
Can we have one last Best FCC... and I mean Best. Like out of all the winners of the year, just have one final poll to see which card becomes the poster child for this tournament?
Well, for the past two years, there's been a poll for FCC card of the year. First Kraj won, then Kenaron won. I doubt it will happen again this year, as there would only be two cards to choose from.

Which brings me back to this question, which got lost in the shuffle.
Is the fore-mentioned card of the month that will go up on the front page also going to get its own thread in the old card of the month forums? And, more importantly, are those cards the ones that will be voted on for card of the year?
In case I need to clarify, I'm asking about the new card of the month, with nominations taken from anywhere on the forum.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.

Actually Alacar won the first Card of the Year. I don't believe there was one for 2005.
M_E, Shepherd and I haven't yet decided exactly how CotM/year will work in respect to threads and voting and such, but there's a good chance it will function similarly to the way it has been.

Ah, thanks.

It was a pleasure to share this contest (as for many other people, the main reason I joined this forum) with almost of you!
@All: Keep designing as life itself keeps doing too.

That said, with the Feb winner declared and discussed I think it's time this thread can be retired.
