Semi-Finals! Congratz to all of our contestants to make it this far. An honorable mention goes to Lorgalis- an amazing designer who didn't make it this far simply due to a technicality. Either way all four competitors are great designers and I expect your best.

Odin (:symw::symu::symb:) is the god over wisdom, war and death. He is a cruel taskmaster who rules his followers with an iron fist, and spreads disease and famine to his foes. Mechanic wise him and his followers specialize in 'prison' mechanics that punish others for taking actions against them, and drains their resources and strength while gaining him insight and intelligence. Taxation-Cantrips (sometimes double)-Wither.
Freya (:symg::symu::symw:) is a goddess over fertility, prosperity, and prophecy. Her followers see her as beautiful and gentle, while her enemies see her as deceitful and treacherous. Her strength comes from the rejuvenation of her resources as well as her deceitful tricks. Twisting the future by making what is, not, and ambushing other mages with spells, she is a formidable opponent. Untapping Lands-Phasing-Pitch Cards
Baldur (:symr::symg::symw:)- is fair, peaceloving, and bright. His spells reinforce his allies and provide them with the strength to sustain themselves without harm. His enemies are few, but those that exist yearn to see him dead. The light that emanates from his body is invigorating and blinding to his enemies-Life gain, 1st strike heavy- Pump
Thor (:symw::symb::symr:)- Fierce, powerful and destructive. He is loyal and true to his friends, and shares no pity or hesitation to crush his enemies. His magics are the more blunt kind, explosive and brutal, while sometimes sloppy leaving openings for their own undoing. With Mjolnir at his side he is always ready for a fight.-Destruction abilities (permanents or LD or damage all)-Punisher Mechanic-Vigilance
Geirrord (:symu::symr::symg:)-A giant of a god whose followers number the remnants of the victims of Thor. Determined to destroy to prepare themselves for whenever Thor may arrive their magics are tempo and ambush oriented. Bounce/Tempo-Regeneration-Kamikaze (when ~ goes to a graveyard you'll be sorry)
Sleipnir (:symb::symg::symw:) A steed like no other, the presence of Sleipnir is rejuvenating and refreshing. He is at one and harmonious with nature, and can call upon her vast resources to aid him, all the while punishing his enemies for greed and spite. Regrowth/Reanimation-Land Fetch-Balance/Pox punish fore greater resources.
Freyr (:symr::symw::symu:)-A god who brings pleasure to mortals and is full of bravado. His magics are great but require vast resources. In battle he is aided by a sword which fights by itself, and at sea by a ship that always has the favorable breeze. X-spells, Pitch Cards, artifacts
Jormungand (:symu::symb::symg:)- The world serpent. Most of his followers have never seen him but awe at his deeds and power. His size means his actions effect the entire plane, not just the battle at hand, while his poison is toxic enough to kill the mightiest of enemies-Deathtouch-Transmute-Symmetrical effects
Loki (:symu::symr::symb:)-A trickster and even seen as the source of all fraud and deception. In battle he is never quite what he seems, being able to change form at will and deflect spells thrown at him. His ideas breed cruel and clever deceits that only increase the cult following he has. Fork spells-Transmutate-Change form (p/t, creature type)
Fenrir (:symb::symr::symg:)-Feral, ferocious, primal and powerful are all kind words used to describe Fenrir. His enemies prefer the title demon. His powers specialize in brutality, and power, but have grown and evolved to make sure he is never bound again. With his new talents Fenrir has amassed an army of wolves to accompany him in the war to come. Haste-Shadow-Token/Wolf love
Battle Royale!
I'd say the flavor and feel of our set is complete. We have warring armies and Gods to lead them. Powerful spells and epic battles. We have a full flavored set. Now we need the icing on the cake. The challenge for both sides will be the same. A simple task really. Make two {different} cards that expresses a nich or sect of Ancient Nordic culture. The card needs to feel Nordic, and must fit into the flavor and feel of the set. No God requirements.

I had to double check the challenge rules, as I noticed that I was the only player not to have submitted a land card this round :/
1T4 - Plains of Asgard. Asgard is a setting worthy of a mythic rare, but your card doesn't feel very mythic. Legendary rare would've sufficed here I think. I think also it needs some sort of combat trick/bonus to fully capture the flavor you were trying to invoke. Hydromel Cup. I like this card a lot, though while it doesn't feel very nordic to me, the flavor in and of itself is very good. Solesticio - Viking Guide. This one is utterly elegant. the card itself is simple, but the flavor is awesome! Nordkinn, the Coastal Peninsula. The flavor here is also very good, as a viking land. A land that steals other lands feels kind of weird, but I'll get over it. Overall, very god job! Winner - Solesticio
Solestico:
excellent cards, fit well with theme, nice balanced abilites overall great.
1T4:
also, excellent cards, don't understand the Hydromel Cup but both very cool cards, sadly not quite as good as Solestico so
Winner: Solectico
Edit: Dang, Jutland Scop is a 1/1 that's what happens when you post too quickly, also huh looking at your comments yeah Meadhall is way too good, thought I balanced it. Oh well, it was an honor to have gotten so far among such great designers on one of my first CCLs,
@GiftsTrix well my Scop failed but I will reconcile one comment: a Scop is an Anglo-Saxon bard, well it was fun

L0ng5h0t: Runestone: Give First Strike to your creatures for almost free can be powerful. Despite that, your card seems balanced. Ship: I have mix-feelings about this one. At first glance, it seems a little underpowered. Blue control decks wouldn't run it for being underpowered, aggro blue decks either, 'cause it's overcosted. But at the end, it's seems balanced and very cool, an aquamoeba style with an extra.
WUBPRGspellsPlanarChaos: Meadhall: I think you have forgotten two rules: 1. Don't do land cards strictly better than basic lands. Do it legendary or coming into play tapped. Evreybody would play 4 of them, without prejudice. 2. Don't obsolete a previous magic card (at least recently). Kher Keep is trash compared with you card. Althoug, I love the flavor scop: well, a creature without P/T is never good. Also, it's confusing. Why should your opponent counter it, unless he has more mana than you available? (even that, I'm not sure he would). It seems very underpowered for a Rare.
Winner: L0ng50t is the finalist!! Congratulations for the 4th consecutive time (at least).

Just a heads-up to all you CCLers: I just posted early sign-up for Oct. up here.
(As a nod to Griftstrix's great CCL-running skillz, I've made one more round using his great setting.)
Good luck in the current CCL, friends. Hope to see you in October.
