thank you Post Hotel, for having free internet in the room for the next four or so days. I won't post MUCH, because I'll be hiking and stuff, but I can do like one more round of this. Also, to those whom it may concern, I've been busily working offline with Safeguard, and will be updating the spoiler to include approx 206 cards. (ruggles, as my best individual commenter, i'm looking at you on this one.)
Anyway, I can't judge this right now, but I will judge it tonight before I update the set spoiler.
Wachachacha....judging.
Alabran, this is an interesting melding of phantoms and bloodthirst, but I don't really want any phantom creatures at not-rare because of the easiness to creature unkillable-by-damage phantoms. Its a cool design, but more comboable than I'm looking for.
seratonin, I really can't decide the power level of this card. Bloodthirst X is always a dangerous proposition, and I think adding insult to injury isn't really what the set is about.
Quazifuji, I like this card a lot and almost did something similar at common with different numbers. I think this card is balanced and works pretty well.
Dranith, this is too good, methinks. Even without bloodthirst, this can be used with spending the counters via ability costs, then getting the counters back. Also, 5/5 for 3, even one that dwindles, is a bit too good for black.
FSI, this is a cool idea somewhat similar to Quazi's. I like the fact that this seems a bit more up-to-uncommon-snuff when there are not counters on it.
Ruggles, this card does a bit too much. While I get that you might be destroying your own stuff, I just worry about someone piling on a lot of counters all in one turn and wrathing with it, which I think is a bit more powerful than I'd like in the card.
Temeraire, this is a pretty cool card I must admit, but it honestly might still be overpowered. Consider the number of ways besides its own ability to put counters on it. I just personally dont like creatures with p/t over 1/1 to keep comin back at uncommon.
The winner, with a close victory over Quazifuji, is FuriouslySleepingIdea.
@Penguin: I don't see Pierce through the Ranks in your spoiler.
Green Uncommon Rising to Ocassion GG
Instant {U}
Target creature gets +2/+2. Ascend-- Target creature gets +4/+4 and gains trample instead if an opponent controls more non-land permanents than you.
Undying Baloth 2GB
Creature - Beast Ascend - If Undying Baloth would be destroyed and an opponent controls more non-land permanents than you, regenerate it and sacrifice a permanent.
4/4
Penguinwriter: I'm actually enjoying myself at the beach right now! I'll try to go over the updates to the spoiler, but I probably won't post until I get back, on Monday or Tuesday. Hope you're having a good vacation as well!
I'll submit this card instead, then. I hope you don't mind.
Call of the Wild 3GG
Sorcery {U}
Put a 3/3 green Beast creature token into play under your control. Ascend - If an opponent controls more non-land permanents than you, put a 3/3 green Beast creature token into play under your control.
i was hoping to get a full round in, but people seemed to really heed my initial saying that i'd be gone. ok, well i doubt i'll have internet until the 23rd now... for real this time.
Ascendant Elf
Creature - Elf Warrior Ascend - As long as an opponent controls more non-land permanents than you, ~ gets +2/+2, has trample and ":symg:, Return target permanent you control to its owner's hand: Regenerate ~.".

Thought of the Month: I gave up from trying to require the 'i' on my name: SolesticIo
i'm back from vacation and i hate making uncommons, so this game will be back up to normal speed before i go to bed.
edit: correction, by noon, or when i wake up. I just spent a whole day on planes
Desperate HydromancerUU
Creature-Human Wizard {U} U,T: Tap target creature that has a combined power and toughness greater than Desperate Hyrdomancer.
2/2
Illuviay's Slight 1U
Instant {U}
Choose new targets for target instant or sorcery spell. Ascend - If an opponent controls more non-land permanents than you, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Seratonin, this card is cool, because if you can make him weaker, he actually becomes stronger, which is very much in line with the set. I dunno if he's quite powerful enough, but he's not so drastically underpowered that uncommon is impossible or wrong. He's a cool lil guy, I must admit.
Ruggles, this seems like a rare. I think its a bit overpowered with the ascend part. Maybe if you up the cost by 1 or U we have a better card. But i think it could also be amended to say "you don't control" which fits the theme, because it only works if your opponent has good spells.
Temy, I think I'd give him flash, and make him a 1/2. But i like the ascend ability, i think its a cool powerful but not too powerful ascend ability, which is hard to balance out.
Alaraisin Bran, this card is a cool little card. I like it, and its a legitimate role in a set, kinda like the clash enchantment from lorwyn that let you draw cards. Its not too exciting, but its cool and playable in the set.
This is tough, because I'm actually fond of each card, but I think that the one I most see thriving in the set is seratonin's
winner: Seratonin
next: Make a red uncommon land destruction card (spell or permanent)
also, as you may have noticed, this game is now the main feeder of the actual set, as my creativity for the theme is waining. This is of course because of my other idea, which has a poll i hope you will all vote in.
The information necessary for the poll can be found in the main set thread here: PDE

If you were targeted by a spell or ability you don't control this turn, destroy target land.
@Penguinwriter and everyone: I want to invite you and anyone who wants to, to take participation of my set development. I'm not being too much constant but it's advancing for sure. ^^
Subterranean Blast1RR Sorcery
Bloodthirst 1 (When this spell would resolve, if an opponent has been dealt damage this turn, put a charge counter on it.)

seratonin, with giant growth as common, the unascended version of this card is just way too underpowered for uncommon.
ruggles, good card, not terribly exciting but no flaws
temy, this card seems overpowered to me. I don't like green getting big flash at uncommon (i saw big because this can be a 6/6 blocker no problem)
sol, I dont like that it gives green one mana self bounce to protect from removal. I think that's a very blue thing.
