Welcome to the first round of the Vorthos Creative Challenge. The monthly Magic Card creation contest tailored to the Vorthos in all of us.
This time I'm going to experiment with the bracket a bit for fun. The ten best from this round will go into the second round, the six best will pass to the third, and the top three will battle it out to join H1jAcK as a bearer of the covetous Vorthos Crown.
You might have figured it out by the requirements of entering, but the first challenge is to create a card of your named type from your named setting. Cards can not be edited after Monday, January 7th at 11:59pm Eastern time(just before it becomes Tuesday).

Remember that here at the VCC, we're all about flavor, so make sure that your card gives us a glimpse of your setting. We should be able to understand your setting by the flavor crammed into this single card. People that have never even heard of Ravnica, Hyrule, or Ponyville should be able to get a pretty good idea of what it's about by reading your card.
That being said, make sure the card makes sense. Give a render with your text card if you like, but it's not necessary.

You control equipped creature. 2: Choose a creature that was dealt damage this turn. Flip a coin. If you win, attach Pokeball to that creature.
I thought about making the classic of Ravenloft like Strahd, Azalin or Von Richten, but opted to make a more obscure legend instead.
Tristessa, Dark Lord of Keening 1BB
Legendary Creature - Banshee
Haunt
When Tristessa, Dark Lord of Keening comes into play, destroy target creature unless an opponent have you gain control of another creature he or she controls. If anyone does, remove Tristessa from the game Haunting that creature.
At the beginning of your upkeep put a -1/-1 counter on the creature haunted by Tristessa. When that creature is put in a graveyard from play, return Tristessa to your hand.

Tristessa, a shadow fey banshee who perpetually seeks her dead daughter, rules Keening. In life she was a noble in Arak's Unseelie Court. When three outlander were brought to Arak by Ravenloft's Mists, they were initially welcomed by the shadow fey. Their worship of Lolth became a popular cult among the Arak. When the drow had all been killed through a series of assassinations, Tristessa became the head priestess of Lolth's cult. The followers of this cult began to change in appearance: instead of their normally bone-white skin, they became similar in appearance to the . Tristessa then gave birth to daughter born with spider's legs. This was the final straw for Prince Loht, ruler of the Unseelie shadow fey, and he outlawed the cult and Tristessa and her deformed baby were killed by her fellow shadow fey by being staked to the ground and left to die in the sun.
Tristessa's death and the loss of her child have left her mad with grief. She constantly searches for her baby, destroying any living creature she encounters. She does not seem to understand the passage of time. If she encounters a living creature, she demands the return of her child. If the creature gives Tristessa a live humanoid baby, she thanks them profusely abd retreates ti the mines of Mount Lament. If the creature does not give her a baby, she destroys it.
If given a baby, Tristessa treats it as lovingly as her own child, but unconsiously uses her withering touch to give the baby the deformities she expects to see. Tristessa cannot care for a live infant, and it soon starves or dies of thirst.
Aura of The Omnipotent 1UR

Legendary permanents you control have shroud.
Whenever a black or red creature deals combat damage to you, that creature's controller gains control of Zelda, Princess of Hyrule.

I knew I should have picked a more well known fantasy setting. Oh well, anyone looking for more info about the world of Erna can look here. I highly recommend the books for anyone interested in a good read.

Enchantment - Aura (uncommon)
Whenever a mountain is tapped for mana, enchanted creature gets +2/-1 until end of turn. Many adepts have been tempted by the raw power of the surging Fae. All, sadly, were burned from the inside out.

The Devourer Wurm is a primitive divinity worshipped by the wild Ogrun, Trollkin and Gobbers of the Kingdoms. It is an incarnation of the rage of nature, of instinct and destruction, and is all but unknown to more civilized cultures. As technology advances more and more, the remaining wild cultists call the rage of the Wurm to return the world to what it once was.
Horizon of Vana'diel Legendary Land (R)
When ~ comes into play choose a color. T: Add one mana of the chosen color to your mana pool 2, T: Players play a MAGIC subgame, using their libraries as their decks. The player that wins may search his or her library for any two cards and put them into their hands then shuffles their library. When war seems inevitable, the strong must stop it.
The mini game would have to be off cards rules text but has already been established in previous cards ShahrazadEnter the Dungeon. Basically you each shuffle your library and start a new game. Then shuffle the cards you used and continue your previous game when the winner gets a free double tutor.
With this card I wanted to focus on the openness of the MMORPG. When it comes into play you choose your allegiance (Color/Race) and whenever your current mission is to difficult (the game you're in) you can go on a new quest in search of weapons/armor/various bounty to help you finish your original quest.

Looks like the round is closed. I can see that there are a lot of slackers though, so, as a special offer (or maybe Atrius was more successful than we thought), I'll allow all you friendly flavor aficionados a bit more time.
Instead of the big DQ, I'll just take off 3 points from your score if it's edited between Midnight (which was a few minutes ago) and 10am (when I'm expected at work).
"But, Dodavehu," you might ask, "you haven't even posted anything even close to a rubric this round. How much will 3 points hurt me?"
Well, that's just a risk you're going to have to take. Maybe you'll just lose 3 points out of a possible 100, maybe you'll lose 3 out of a max of 2. Who knows? Think carefully before you decide to edit.
