I'm going to have to agree. At this point, here's what will have to happen for this contest to finish in time:
1) Judging for this round finishes by the end of Thursday, 2/17.
2) Next round, instead of having 13 groups of 2, we have 8 groups of 3 and one group of 2.
3) Next round begins on Friday, 2/18, and runs until the end of Sunday, 2/20.
4) Judging begins at the end of Sunday, 2/20, and runs until the end of Monday, 2/21.
5) Round 3 begins on Tuesday, 2/22. Since we have 9 people left, round 3 is judged in groups of three people.
6) Round 3 runs from Tuesday, 2/22, until the end of Thursday, 2/24.
7) Judging begins at the end of Thursday, 2/24, and runs until the end of Friday, 2/25.
8) Round 4 gives us one final group of 3. It begins on Saturday, 2/26, and runs until the end of Sunday, 2/27.
9) Judging begins at the end of Sunday, 2/27, and runs until the end of Monday, 2/28.
10) The final card is posted on March 1st.
That's IF we run lots of groups of 3 and IF judging is done quickly and reliably and IF we get this round finished by tomorrow and IF Wolfwood basically already has rounds 2, 3, and 4 set up and waiting.
I don't think the contest is dead dead.... (But of course I'm still in the running)
I don't see terrible harm in having the card of the month up late. But I do suggest that there be a better judge recruiting process.... maybe make judging open to only moderaters?
That really narrows down the amount of people eligible to judge. Not to mention the fact that even if some of them did sign up as judges, it's not guaranteed they'll be here to judge, as things might come up in their lives or something.
On a side note, what was wolfwood's stance on the situation? Since he really hasn't posted in this thread as of late, I was wondering if anyone has contacted him (via PM or some other method) to see what should be done...
Alright now, I'm going to be a rebel against the system and judge the remaining cards myself... Nobody else has stepped up, and I'm already a current judge, so I shall do this... Now... Give me an hour...
My word is law... Only to be overridden by Wolfwood and mass-people hating me and... pretty much everything else can override me...

Your last edit was after Wolfwood called end on 02-14-2005, Possible Disqualification Flavor/Creativity – 3.5/5 – Giving pseudo-ninjutsu to a creature works quite well, stealth and all, but Espionage means obtaining information. Attacking creatures don’t really do that. But the swapping ninjutsu-style works, if not in a slightly bland way. Balance - 5/5 – Mana cost fits very well. Wording - 4/5 – You need to indicate you’re returning an unblocked attacker, otherwise, this card would allow you to virtually attack any time you want. All creatures are unblocked when not in combat.
Round Fulfillment (RF) - 5/5 – Creature A goes into hand, then back into play. Creature B goes into play then back to hand. Follows almost perfectly. Bonus - 5/5 - Card render and Mana symbols used and blue used +5...
:::::Wanderer359 vs philosophile::::: Wanderer359 - #23 – Memory Shift Flavor/Creativity - 4/5 – It’s an enchantment with an activated ability, not an ordinary entry. It also works quite well for its purpose, if maybe a bit too complex for a simple ability. The same ability could have been performed a different way, and this card seems too forced to fit the structure of this contest.
Balance - 5/5 – It’s effectively a brainstorm every turn for a bit more mana. Cost is about right as it thins out your deck of unwanteds and nets you useful cards. Drawback of high casting cost and ditching 1 card to top of library works. Wording - 4/5 – Put the top card of library into your hand = Draw a card… Round Fulfillment (RF) - 4/5 – Removing 2 cards from the game then putting one into your hand is a bit redundant, plus it breaks the archetype of manipulating one permanent at a time. Bonus - 5/5 - Card render and Mana symbols used and Blue +5...
philosophile - #24 – Unearthed Secrets Flavor/Creativity - 4/5 – Making it a global effect is good, but green manipulates creatures and lands while blue manipulates cards in hand. Nothing too new… Balance - 4/5 – Perhaps borderline on the weak side as you could just tap your mana and play the creature anyways. And returning a land to your hand and allowing your opponent to do the same is a punch in your own face. The card manipulation is just there for the extra blue. Wording - 3/5 – “All players” should be “Each player,” “they” should be “he or she”, change to “then that player returns a land they” Round Fulfillment (RF) – 3.5/5 – Creature goes into play and a land comes into hand. Not same permanent. Card goes into hand and card goes out of hand, not necessarily the same permanent. Bonus - 5/5 - Card render and Mana symbols used Blue and Green Used +5...
-TOTAL- Wanderer329 - 22
philosophile – 19.5
::::: Salubrious vs Greebo::::: Salubrious - #25 – Heroes of Old Flavor/Creativity - 5/5 – Hero[es] = Enchant creature. “of Old” = from graveyard. Excellent. Should have been black, but flavor overrides this. Balance - 5/5 – Costs 4, played as an instant, all poofs at end of turn. Two colors. All works. Wording - 4/5 – “to” should be “into”, “returned creature” should be “that creature”, “remove them both” should be “remove both permanents” Round Fulfillment (RF) - 4/5 – At the end resolution, both permanents go to the same place. Bonus - 5/5 – Render and mana symbols and white and green +5…
Greebo - #26 – Flickering Aura Flavor/Creativity - 3/5 – Swaps around enchantments from graveyard, hand, and in play. Basically an enchantment-version of Cauldron Dance. Balance - 5/5 - Balanced Wording - 4/5 – The occasional excessive comma, and the two clauses have the same basic structure, yet the first clause is split into 2 sentences for no reason. Round Fulfillment (RF) - 5/5 – It’s a cauldron-dance clone… Bonus - 5/5 - Mana symbols used and render and White and Green Used +5...
:::::sk.Quincy vs SorryGuy::::: sk.Quincy - #29 – Symbol of Confusion Flavor/Creativity - 5/5 – This is interesting indeed. Confusion may be a strange word for this and for blue though… Balance - 5/5 – Mutual benefit, cost seems about right, if not too much, but nothing significant. Wording - 3/5 – “his/her” should be “his or her”, random comma errors, “owners’” should be “owner’s” because the word “each” signifies singularity. Round Fulfillment (RF) - 4/5 – Opponent controls some of the effect, and the 2nd action may not happen if the enchantment never leaves play. Bonus - 2/5 –Mana symbols used and Blue used +2…
SorryGuy - #30 – Meddling of Material Flavor/Creativity - 4/5 – I’m going by your explanation here, as the text is riddled in errors. It’s a decent ability. Balance - 3/5 – This is a game-breaker here… Just get enough mana. Wording - 1/5 – Libraries and hands do not contain permanents. “Permanent” is a status given when a card enters play and stays in play. Comma errors. Mispelled “permanents”. It’s a “library” not a “deck.” Mispelled “sorcery.” “return all cards” should be “put all cards” Round Fulfillment (RF) - 5/5 – Moves A to play then removed from play. Moves B to removed then to hand. It works. Bonus - 5/5 – Render and mana symbols and blue +5… I wish people would actually make sense with their pictures, I’d take off a point for that…
I am glad someone finally stepped up and judged. Good job AB, even if you did hate my card! As far as the pictures, as long as it is not a requirment mine will just get stranger. I guess I hope that WW overrides but that is just being a sore loser and I am sure he will not!
Cool, we got the judging issue done. While these may not be the final results (We'll have to wait for WW on that), at least we made progress. Thanks Absolutionis for stepping up and doing that.
As for yoyamime's eligibility...I really don't think it's a big deal considering he had no opponent in the first place. As long as this doesn't occur when there is an opponent, it should be fine. Still it's up to the Judges and Wolfwood to decide.
k, finally! Now can we get somebody to make the next round and quick!? :biggrin3:

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
Results will be posted tommorow. This is going to be a very accelerated round to try and deal with the transferring control (Wolfwood no longer has time to run this, so I will be).
Results up tommorow, Next round will close Sunday at Midnight once up.
