I was having a brainstorm again, and I thought; Why wouldn't we make a set together, well at last the base of a set.
Rules;
I would like serious posts, so no creature types like "Handless Wurm people" and no themes like "everyone in this plane is walking upside-down" and keep yourself mostly to the color wheel, so no trample in blue unless it's a good reason, no fear in white, no decking in white and so on...
We start with a theme for the set, then a sub-theme and race for each color, With each suggestion there should be a card example to give an idea of what you mean. These are the steps;
1st poster; Set theme + Short Explanation + Example Card
2nd poster; White Subtheme + Short Explanation + Example Card
3rd Poster; White creature type(s) + Short Explanation + Example cards (1 example per suggestion)
4th poster; Blue Subtheme + Short Explanation + Example Card
5th Poster; Blue creature type(s) + Short Explanation + Example cards (1 example per suggestion)
6th poster; Black Subtheme + Short Explanation + Example Card
7th Poster; Black creature type(s) + Short Explanation + Example cards (1 example per suggestion)
8th poster; Red Subtheme + Short Explanation + Example Card
9th Poster; Red creature type(s) + Short Explanation + Example cards (1 example per suggestion)
8th poster; Green Subtheme + Short Explanation + Example Card
9th Poster; Green creature type(s) + Short Explanation + Example cards (1 example per suggestion)
10th Poster; Gives a short storyline idea + Three keyword abilities to be included in the set (This could be anything but try to have them in-sync with the set's theme) + any additional card or set ideas on this set.
Example;

Enchantment Theme,
This plane is filled with great sorcerers and wizards, able to cast enchantments from their sleeves as if it was nothing,
>Name< :1mana::symu::symu:
Creature - Human Wizard (U)
:symtap:: you may put an enchant creature card from your hand into play enchanting ~.

Enchantment Hate,
>Name< :1mana::symw:
Enchantment (R)
:symw:, Sacrifice ~: Destroy all enchantments with converted mana cost 4 or more.
Quote from 3rd Poster »
Cat, Lion.
Sul-ba-katatata Warrior :1mana::symw:
Creature - Cat Rebel (C)
Sacrifice an enchantment; ~ gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
2/1
Sul-ba-katatata Warchief :3mana::symw:
Creature - Lion Rebel Cleric (U)
Sacrifice an enchantment; destroy target enchantment with converted mana cost 4 or more.
3/4
The Sul-ba-katatata are a Clan formed of rebelling slaves, they are fighting against the power and grip of the grand red and blue wizards, the tribe exists mostly out of Humans, Cats and Lions but contain several other races within the tribe.
etc, etc.

There is a war going on on Solaria, the Sul-ba-katatata clan has recently grown very large and are ready to make their strike against the grand wizards and to enshure the freedom of their kin. The (blue?) grand wizard Umbro wants to be shure the clan will be eridicated and sent an army of enchanted soldiers out to cleanse the field of these pests.
I Think the Sul-ba-katatata should cover Multiple colors, with at least White and black since some of the Sul-ba-katatata rebels have no good in mind.
Sul-ba-katatata Throat-Cutter :2mana::symb::symb:
Creature - Cat Rebel
Whenever ~ becomes blocked you may pay :1mana::symb:, If you do, destroy target creature blocking ~.
3/2
The abilities I would like to see in the set would be Fading, Echo, and Sanctuary (Whenever this becomes the target of a spell or ability for the first time in a turn, counter that spell or ability.)
These are just examples, the abilities are not in-sync and the names are quickly from the back of my head, so, let's start;
I Choose a Might Theme, with a lot of +1/+1 counters and lots of growth,
Avylum Broker :1mana::symu:
Creature - Merfolk Wizard
~ comes into play with two +1/+1 counters on it.
:symu:, remove a +1/+1 counter from ~: Draw a card.
2/1

And yes, the Broker's P/T was wrong due to some mistyping and doing cards in between, it's a 0/0.
@Casual, "Poster 1"; I think the subtheme might be somewhat more expanded, like in Kamigawa we have a spirit theme, and in this spirit theme there are a lot of Efficient weenies, I like your creature example, and I get what you want Let me give an example of what a subtheme for white could be;
White's focus is through combat, using creatures that start strong and grow weaker as they fight.
This would enable efficient weenies, lets keep this one for now.
