The Abyss Inside the Fog Legendary Land
When The Abyss Inside the Fog is summoned, you may roll a six sided die. If you do, you may put a fog counter on target creature with power equal to or less than the result of the roll.
Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to you by creatures with fog counters on them.
: Add C to your mana pool. You may pay 1 life. If you do, return The Abyss Inside the Fog to your hand.
I was looking to do something really eerie and captivating in the horror genre. I ended up with something that's not quite Maze of Ith, but an intriguing contemporary. To extend design's appeal, I increased interactivity by adding the return to the hand effect. This not only acts as ward and chains with landfall effects, but also increases the range potential for the Fog counters; which for a legendary land I would argue is necessary for grandeur. Like being swallowed by a whale.
Lotus Chest0 Legendary Artifact
Whenever another permanent you control leaves the battlefield, if Lotus Chest is the only nonland, nontoken permanent you control, you may create a tapped Treasure token. If this is the third time this ability has triggered this game, exile Lotus Chest.
Yet another lotus novelty from me. It shouldn't take long for people to see the potential here with things like Norin the Wary. The conditions make it counter-intuitive running alongside moxes and mana rocks, but not other lotus (which I think is cool). I think it has the blend of power and challenge fully befitting for the royal family of such designs.
Bonus
New World OrderW Enchantment
As New World Order is summoned, name a nonland card.
Whenever the named card is cast, you may gain 3 life and put a counter of any type, except indestructible, on a permanent you own. Who is the greater fool—the fool who leads or the fool who follows? It is the one who leads that is the greater fool—for only the greater fool would invite such a crushing magnetism.
Alt Flavor Text
Evil only bites the hand that feeds it in time. The centrifugal force that binds us all in existential physics. The grasp of which none of us can escape.
Here's a reprise I did for New World Order. I was seeking to simplify the operating function. The flexibility you see is intentional, so you can name a card of an opponent's and play off of them, or you can name one of your own cards and play off your own spells with a nice bonus. Some might love the way it works with things like Reinforced Ronin and Glitterfang; as well as Rebound; as well as Jump-start. The alt Flavor text was originally intended for Path of Ruin, but now amended could go either way.
EDIT: I've revoked the ability for this effect to place indestructible counters as it's too anti-climatic, even in the weakest cases.
