Modling GWU
Creature - Shapeshifter
3/3 X: ~ gets +X/-X or -X/+X until end of turn. 1G: Attach any number of Auras enchanting target creature you control to ~. 1W: Attach any number of Equipment attached to target creature you control to ~. 1U: Move any number of counters from target creature you control onto ~. GWU: ~ phases out.
Fractalling XGU
Creature - Fractal Shapeshifter

~ enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it. 1: ~ gets +1/-1 or -1/+1 until end of turn. G: ~ must be blocked this turn if able. U: Until end of turn, ~ can’t be blocked by creatures with greater power. GU: Put a +1/+1 counter on ~. It phases out.
These two are designed to mess around with things that both affect power and toughness and phasing in interesting ways.

You may have ~ enter the battlefield as a copy of any creature you control except it has—
“X: This creature gets +X/-X or -X/+X until end of turn. U: Change the target of target spell or ability with a single target to this creature. 1U: Another target creature you control can’t be blocked this turn. 2U: Return this creature to its owner’s hand.”
This one is a little twist on the formula in that, rather than being designed to be a super versatile threat on its own, it’s meant to support your other threats. The flavor here is basically that it’s an illusory copy of the original creature used to distract the enemy.
Also, I’m aware the formatting for this kind of card would be different, I just typed it out like this for clarity.
These are cool, but I'm concerned Modling and Mirrorling might not be readable if printed on a card - which is why the original morphling's abilities were so terse.
I do really like Fractalling's combo of abilities.
It's okay to go off the beaten path, if your end product is cool and unique.
I also had a crazy vision that these would be so unique in the Armada ability. Then I realized why, because Armada basically does make all Armada creatures -lings.

If this were me, first thing I would consider doing is fair exchanging one of the abilities for the larger one.
Check Aetherling for example.
