Keeper of The Neverending Tales 2RGU
Legendary Creature - Human Shaman
If you would sacrifice a Saga that has number of lore counters greater than or equal to its final chapter number, exile it instead then return it to the battlefield at the beginning of your next pre-combat main phase.
Tap an untapped Saga you control: Add one mana of any of that Saga's colors. Spend this mana only to cast enchantment spells.
3/2
I wanted to make a Saga commander that plays in a different space than Satsuki, the Living Lore. The wording is intentional to keep the Neon Dynasty sagas still turning into creatures and not create too weird a loop with Urza's Saga/Blood Moon.
A Saga’s final chapter number is the greatest value among chapter abilities it has. If a Saga somehow has no chapter abilities, its final chapter number is 0.
If the number of lore counters on a Saga permanent is greater than or equal to its final chapter number, and it isn’t the source of a chapter ability that has triggered but not yet left the stack, that Saga’s controller sacrifices it. This state-based action doesn’t use the stack.
Which is a really weird but interesting interaction
Shame we miss on black and white sagas with this though, I mean Temur is ok but I feel you have better sagas to work with in Abzan
Yes, basically its to take the usual process of sacing the saga after its last ability to have them come back and do only their first chapter on the next turn, which is why I put it on main phase instead of upkeep.
(And, if you haven't heard of it, Blood Moon kill Urza's Sagas because they loose all their chapter abilities from the Moon but are still Enchantment Sagas with more than 0 lore counters on them. Wierd interaction that comes up in Modern a lot)
And Abzan does seem like a good fit too, but I was trying to avoid anything with GW so it wouldn't just auto-replace Satsuki as a commander or want to auto run her either.
Instead of using a saga for mana, It might be more interesting to sacrifice them to return other sagas from your graveyard to hand.
If it seems a little powerful, you can restrict the ability by mana value, nonland to prevent shenanigans with urza's saga etc...
The ability may need to be sorcery speed to prevent abuse with the first ability on your card.

The problem is that the first ability would allow you put the last lore counter on a saga, sac it in response to the chapter ability to get another saga from the graveyard, and still benefit from the replacement effect to exile the saga you sacced.
The mana ability is mainly there because I wanted another synergistic ability that wouldn't take up too much textbox. Another option would be something like
Other creatures you control have "This creature gets +1/+1 for each Saga you control that shares a color with it."

That would require costing a little more though.
Thats why I think it may need to be at sorcery speed. That way its only one of the abilities.
Alternatively, you may want to only have each ability trigger once each turn.
