A mechanic for ancient slumbering versions of current creatures. Tremorract is kinda unpowered, but still an uncommon which would make some decks. A more powerful rare version could cost 1RR normal, and have ancient 3R, dormant 2.
Swift Silentwing1U
Creature - Owl(R)
Flying
Dormant 3 --2U-- 5/6
Rumble - 3U: Draw a card (Activate only as a sorcery and only once each turn.)
2/1
The set would come with Fossil punch-out tokens, with an "Awoken" reminder on the back, so you use 3, then flip the last one to prevent memory issues (if you somehow forget the 9/9 that took 3+ turns to arrive.)
I use cardconjurer.com
To make this, I created the 3/3 first, then pasted over it using GIMP a second version 9/9 with the extra elements.
That's Neat. On the card, itself. I like the intention, maybe there are too many stuff happening there that it got me a little lost while reading the card. kinda like how all this will have this weird interaction with Solemnity
It feels awkwardly like a cheap rehash. It doesn't really add enough unique or interactive. For example, you will be wasting mana to active this ability for no reason in a competitive environment? And not being able to cast offensive spells (burn, destructo).
It's kind of like that type of idea that's too late now, and wanted to go up against prototype before it was a thing?
Kinda, there can only be one or the other.
The concept is neat. It really wants to be its own thing, where maybe the additional box and all isn't necessary. The concept would fit Ikoria, maybe. Or even like Ixalan. I think it fits in the realm of the two-sided cards. One could easily be burned out on those, and feeling like that medium lacks uniqueness in the same perspective as the opening point of interest. Two-sided cards though are infinitely more adaptable than a special box ability like Prototype or Level Up.
At best, you have to come up with your own custom box tier for this. Even if it would borrow from something like Sagas in a way, mechanically.
