If you would draw a card, draw two cards instead. Greed -- At the beginning of your first pre-combat main phase, if you have more cards in hand than each opponent, you lose life equal to the difference between the cards in your hand and the cards in the hand of the player with the least cards.
This card was part of a set that i started to design many years ago after the release of the Tarkir block, because i wasn't totally pleased with the way they designed the wedges and so i wanted to add my personal take on them. Greed is the mechanic i designed for the UBG faction, it basically can give you either an avdvantage or a malus (as in the case of this card) for being the player with the highest number of cards in hand.

As an ability word, I'd need to see more iterations of greed on other cards to know if the concept makes sense as a mechanical theme for a faction. As it is, this card is probably too strong, since you just have to keep playing your cards or have a discard outlet to avoid the whammy, which is easy enough to in black. With that consideration, its a slightly better Teferi's Ageless Insight in black.
You could change the trigger to check on the card draw itself, so that big draw effects are immediately punishing.

The card in a vaccum it's surely strong but it's really bad in a lot of situations (for example against aggro or combo decks or when you have a low life total), probably the new template could make it unplayable, still it's possible that it can give life to some busted combo deck.
