Last night, I'd thought of a counterspell that rewarded you if it countered a spell targeting a Jace planeswalker you control by letting you draw three cards. It was intended as a middle finger to Jace haters, but my brother convinced me not to design cards out of hate, so I was inspired to design cycles of uncommon and rare spells that get better if you control a planeswalker of the appropriate type. The uncommon spells all either get bigger or add an effect if you control a planeswalker of the appropriate type, while the rare spells copy themselves once.
Gideon's Charge1WW
Instant (U)
Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn. If you control a Gideon planeswalker, creatures you control get +2/+2 until end of turn instead.
Gideon's ReinforcementsXWW
Sorcery (R)
When you cast this spell, if you control a Gideon planeswalker, copy this spell.
Create X 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens with lifelink.
Jace's Denial1UU
Instant (U)
Counter target spell. If you control a Jace planeswalker, draw a card.
Jace's GambitXUU
Sorcery (R)
When you cast this spell, if you control a Jace planeswalker, copy this spell. You may choose a new target for the copy.
Target opponent reveals the top X cards of their library. You may cast an instant or sorcery card from among them without paying its mana cost. Then that player puts the rest into their graveyard.
Liliana's Beckoning2BB
Sorcery (U)
Destroy target creature. At the beginning of the next end step, if you control a Liliana planeswalker, return that creature card from its owner's graveyard to the battlefield under your control.
Liliana's ReckoningXBB
Sorcery (R)
When you cast this spell, if you control a Liliana planeswalker, copy this spell.
Creatures get -X/-X until end of turn.
Chandra's Fireball1RR
Instant (U)
~ deals 3 damage to target creature or planeswalker. ~ also deals 3 damage to that permanent's controller if you control a Chandra planeswalker.
Chandra's FirestormXRR
Sorcery (R)
When you cast this spell, if you control a Chandra planeswalker, copy this spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
~ deals X damage divided as you choose among any number of targets.
Ajani's Guidance1GG
Sorcery (U)
Reveal the top five cards of your library. Put up to one creature, enchantment, or land card from among them into your hand. If you control an Ajani planeswalker, instead put up to two creature, enchantment, and/or land cards from among them into your hand. Then put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
Ajani's InvigorationXGG
Sorcery (R)
When you cast this spell, if you control an Ajani planeswalker, copy this spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Put X +1/+1 counters on target creature. Until end of turn, that creature gains trample and "Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, draw that many cards."
I would consider keywording the "if you control a -type- planeswalker, copy this spell" ability.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I would not keyword the "planespire" ability because it's apparently only for the rare cycle; I think a non-keyworded theme serves better, especially since the boosted abilities require a narrow condition.
I have always wanted to play Gideon Tribal since the planeswalker uniqueness rule was done away with and planeswalkers fell under the legend rule.
Why are the Ajani spells green when Ajani himself is always white or part-white, and all the other cards with Ajani in their name except one are also white?
Why are the Ajani spells green when Ajani himself is always white or part-white, and all the other cards with Ajani in their name except one are also white?
Because he's currently the (sole) representation of green mages in the Gatewatch, and it's a monocolor cycle. Of course that also means Liliana is out of place, but otherwise, no black members of the cycle.
These were designed with War of the Spark in mind, and since Nissa's gone running back to Zendikar and Ajani's part green, I figured he could fill in for the green part of the cycle. Heroic Intervention and Solidarity of Heroes are other green cards associated with Ajani. What's the point in making him part green if he can't get any monogreen cards?

Well, Liliana never actually forsook her vow, so technically she's still part of Gatewatch.

Well, there is the chance that WAR will have a planeswalker in every pack, so to speak, as a means of increasing planeswalker as-fan. At any rate, these are built more with Constructed in mind than limited.

I don't have a minute to review these cards in detail right now, but I'm really in favor of the concept. (Limited issues do exist, sure, but it seems like you're thinking about ways to address that.) I'd love to see more.
Sooo, since nobody seems to have mentioned planeswalker deck exclusive uncommons... this kind of effect exists on real cards e. g. Avid Reclaimer. We're all on the same page here, right?
Even the anti-planeswalker concept has been explored in HOU with Nissa's Defeat and cycle.
I like these exactly where they are and wouldn't mind more signature cards. The expand the planeswalkers thematically to lower rarities, but mechanically they do not really matter for Draft or Sealed, so precons are a grand home for them. I'll say that I don't really enjoy the planeswalker deck rares we have right now.
I'd prefer an ability word over a keyword, so it can encompass both the uncommons and the rares.
