An attempt at a cool mythic design for a 'weird world' themed set. Thought it would be interesting to combine black steal effects like Gonti, Lord of Luxury and resurrect cards like Rise from the Grave that can get opponent's creatures.
Whisper Weaver
Creature- Demon (M)
Flying
When Whisper Weaver enters the battlefield, exile up to four target creature cards from your opponents’ graveyards. You may cast those cards for as long as they remain exiled, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast those spells.

It’s nearly perfect. I mean, I only twitched once when I saw the “5” in the mana cost and the 5 power and 5 toughness but then read “four” in the rules text.🤓
Four targets feels like a more balanced spot for the effect.
Compare something like Opportunity.
Maybe this could a little bit stronger, but five targets feels perhaps too much?
If I were to make this a creature, I would tie the ability into the creature itself somehow. Seeing as this is playing on the puppeteer trope, there could a trigger to sac / put from exile to grave the creatures exiled with this once the demon (looks a lot like a horror btw) itself leaves the battlefield. It's supposed to be the one controlling them, no? The wording can easily get quite verbose there, so that would be a thing to solve there.
That all seems unnecessarily complicated.
As for it looking like a horror- I know. You could almost say it looks weird for a demon
I mean yeah, but the effect lingers beyond the creature and is sooo much beyond the body. I can't quite place it, but I think it's the effect lingering beyond the demon itself that bothers me - like it's entirely separate and lives beyond the demon itself.
Changing the creature type from Demon to Nightmare Horror seems like a decent idea to make the odd issue of "having the effect persist after death". Think of it like some horrific nightmarish creature that spreads its essence into the afflicted dead, then allows them to return once again, even if itself dies.
I for one love this kind of effect on a creature because it means I can abuse and reuse it multiple times with its etb trigger.

Other than that, I love this card. A nearly perfect design that is both feasible and playable.

I see no real difference between this and Elvish Visionary, or Man-o'-War, or Ravenous Chupacabra, or any number of other ETB creatures.
That all seems unnecessarily complicated.

Gonti, Lord of Luxury.
I don't have a problem with this.

No, but it provides a very good case for it being an acceptable way of doing things.
