#707 - "Recursive" Artifact (U)
If this card would be sent to the graveyard from anywhere, return it to the battlefield at the beginning of the next phase or step that would occur. If the untap step would be next, it will instead return during the upkeep step.
Yeah considering that it does nothing by itself, I could see it saying:
"At the beginning of each player's upkeep, if ~ is in your graveyard, return ~ from your graveyard to the battlefield."
Just as a silly little experiment honestly. Here would be creedmoor's version:
#707-B — "Recursive" 3 Artifact (U)
At the beginning of each player’s upkeep, if this card is in your graveyard, return it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
It indeed has some bonkers potential and the recursive ability as an enabler is how it was designed. Theoretically would work in a set at uncommon with common enablers.
The problem with this card is that ONLY exists as a combo enabler. It shouldn't be a uncommon, unless the set has common methods of using it.
What if the cost was increased, but it was a generic mana rock?
I kind of like the idea of something weird like
Eternal Powerstone 4
Artifact
T: Add C.
~~Recursion Effect~~
This card has a lot of weird applications now that it can make mana also.
The ability to make mana would give it other applications. The first attachement is based on that idea. The second is based on it also having no mana cost.

Art is life itself.

Bonkers with welder.

Recursion is when something is defined in terms of itself. In Magic, this would probably take the form of an ability that triggers itself, such as:
This is a recursive ability, since it triggers itself some number of times.
Ex:
Gain 15 life
Trigger ability to gain 7 life
Trigger ability to gain 3 life
Trigger ability to gain 1 life
Trigger ability to gain 0 life
