Okay so I have been working on the Enemy color dragon cycle to parallel the ally color ones from from Fate Reforged. I have spent a few days trying to balance them best i could and Two have been really difficult to balance properly (Though when i saw Boros charm i finally knew what to do)
Sadly the one that is not working is the GU one. His originally ability was giving all attacking dragons hexproof. But that was sub par, and he had evolve. how he has hexproof.
So version two was that every time a dragon you control attacked, opponent non creture spells would be taxed for each dragon. Well that feels like a UW effect so I did not like it at all.
Now version three is that when a dragon attacks, it gets a +1/+1 counter. I do like that. but it feels just way too weak. and the other option is giving all creatures you control a +1/+1 counter. I feel that may be too strong (You attack with 10 dragons, All your creatures get +10/+10 permanently.)
so I turn to you guys to focus in this one dragon. I want to give him an ability that feels like a GU ability while not being too weak or OP.
The effect also has to read "Whenever a dragon you control attack, {insert effect here}"
Simic is so linear towards +1/+1 effects, that it is tough to make them feel unique. Either you have one that does not feel like GU, or you have one that is boring.
Something where you reveal cards until you hit a nonland, put all lands into play and draw the nonland? Reveal number can be number of dragons. That might be a wordy text box

Well actually the wording on taht would be
"Whenever a dragon you control attacks, reveal the top card of your library. If it's a land card put it into play, otherwise put it into your hand."
Since it says Whenever a dragon and not one or more dragons, it triggers for each dragon.
I actually really like this idea, Dragons cost a lot, so ramping is nice.
You could also take the Kruphix route, which gives you mana that doesn't disappear as steps and phases end.
So
"Whenever a dragon you control attacks, add one mana of any color to your mana pool until end of turn. You don't lose this mana as steps and phases end."
Probably worded incorrectly but you get the point Currently my favorite. (Need to know how to properly word it)
"Whenever a Dragon you control attacks, untap target creature or land. Until end of turn, whenever you tap that permanent for mana, add one mana of any type that permanent produced."
Untapping stuff is in both green and blue. Mana doubling, especially temporarily, is very green and feels like High Tide so blue feels right.

That sounds goo but i went with the "adding mana, doesn't deplete until end of turn"
the untap actually feels like a GR thing anyway (Mana reflection, Mana flare). I say its lucky i didn't make him a milling dragon. (Sword of body and mind)
