Trying to work out the kinks with a variation on the Colorless mana from BfZ/OGW, this time however, it is specifically colored mana that this new symbol represents. Cards using it have their own keyword, tentatively called Nexus for now.
Keyword: Nexus (This card is every color. [N] can only be paid for with colored mana of any type.)
Card Example
Chromaling [N][N][N]
Creature - Elemental Shapeshifter [M]
Nexus (This card is every color. [N] can only be paid for with colored mana of any type.)
N: ~ gains +1/-1 or -1/+1 until end of turn.
N: ~ gains your choice of Lifelink, Flying, or Menace until end of turn.
N: Exile ~. At end of turn, return it to the battlefield under its owners control.
NN: Regenerate.

Why does the card color be defined b a separate keyword ability? Each mana symbol defines what colors it is in the rules and those colors inherently determine the color of the card, so just making "Nexus" an inherent aspect of the mana symbol is just as baseline as saying that a hybrid symbol is each of its colors. Do you see a keyword ability called "Hybrid" on each card with Hybrid mana in the mana cost?
The reminder text is confusing there are six types of mana, right? So if mana of any type can pay for [N], how is it different than generic mana?
You also say it's "specifically colored mana", but then the reminder text says "mana of any type" rather than "mana of any color". One type of mana is "colorless", so the reminder text contradicts your intro text and implies the mana used to pay [N] doesn't need to be specifically colored.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
This would have to be costed the same as colorless artifacts, and echoing SecretInfiltrator, I'll volunteer the reminder text:
(N can be paid with mana of any color. This card is all colors.)
Similar to the reminder text for Beseech the Queen, this isn't attached to a keyword, just the fact that this new mana is being used.
This mana could be used to great effect in another set featuring the eldrazi to define whoever is fighting them (basically this feels more like anti-colorless, than colorless as your thread title implies.)
@void_nothing - The difference is thatyou cant use generic mana, or colorless mana to pay for [N]. Think the BFZ/OGW colorless mechanic, but requiring colored mana specifically.
@SecretInfiltrator - the Keyword is meant to be similar to Devoid from BfZ/OGW. unless there is a way they would print a 5 way split color symbol, I made the "Nexus" symbol as an alternative. Yes, there are 6 types of mana, WUBRG and Colorless. The difference is that you cant use Colorless to pay for a [N] cost. it specifies "Colored mana of any type" meaning WUBRG.
The difference in [N] and generic is that anything can pay for generic, [N] HAS to be colored mana.
@Superbajt - The set I'm designing is a duo of Shard/Wedge big sets, The theme is a new plane where all of the mana is in a massive uproar due to a multi-verse shattering event, it has over-saturated the world, and very little, if anything, is colorless. Mono-Anything decks wont be in the format if it would actually see print. As far as eternal formats, if a Legacy/Modern Mono-R decks wants to invest minimum of 5 mana for a 3/3 to survive Lightning Bolt, that's fine. Sure it breaks the color pie in minor ways, but I highly doubt it will be as extreme as you think.
Also, this is a Mythic Rare for the set, and my attempt at dethroning Goyf, I expect it to be powerful, and likely the chase rare of the 'block'--it can be powerful.
@Cardz5000 - I used colorless as a reference because it is what originally inspired the idea. The setting probably is similar to Eldrazi sets, expect much less Lovecraftian 'Flying Spaghetti Monsters' and more "The Energy Empowering Magic is Rebelling". One of the returning mechanics is Awaken, but pushed to a more extensive level.
How a card that is an "attempt to dethrone Goyf" may be "minor break"?
Also, you need only 4 mana to survive Bolt, as you can blink or halfpump this creature.
Also, also, why does this creature have not one, not two, but three abilities that are mainly to protect it? Regenerate is basically strictly worse than blink.
@void_nothing - The difference is thatyou cant use generic mana, or colorless mana to pay for [N]. Think the BFZ/OGW colorless mechanic, but requiring colored mana specifically.
I of course know that, which is why I said there's "almost" no difference to generic costs. The thing is, when you think about a card that costs CCC, you have to have a quite specific deck to have three colorless mana ready on turn three. It has to be built around. Meanwhile, the decks that can access three colored mana on turn three are, well, every other deck.
Do you see the problem with trying to make an extremely pushed, format-defining creature (debatable) that costs effectively 3?
Now, if N were some sort of "forced monocolor" thing - "You may spend mana of any color on this cost and you must spend mana of the same color on all Ns in the same cost" - that would be at least theoretically interesting, if a challenge to design around. It actually would force you to make choices.

Completely forgot about the half-pump letting it survive stuff when I said that.
The multiple modes of protection were also sort of a rushed mistake on my part, I was just throwing down an ability for each color and that's what I landed on at the time. Will probably get changed by the time I move on with the mechanic.
EDIT - The only 'balanced' alternative to an entirely new keyword I can think of would be something like Chroma, Sunburst, or Domain being a core mechanic to the entire block. Something built around "colors spent/land types in play" matters.
If I went this route, I would likely change 'Chromaling' to a very pushed Cromat ith abilities similar to Zacama, Primal Calamity but for each color.
Sunburst/Domain seem like a good idea to represent this idea, maybe even converge. You could consider Chroma/Devotion, maybe to all colors (however I don't know if the scalability of such effects would work well).
If you really want to use this N mana, remember they are basically as castable as artifacts, and I would make cards with activated abilites costing colored mana, as Kaladesh Puzzleknots or aforementioned Cromat.
