Just for the sake of pattern completion, what do we think about enemy-colored takes on the Unstable world? I don't have any card designs atm, but feel free to add them if you like.
WB - Parody tech company, enforcing sameness to maximize their market share, maybe some sort of mechanical theme about overwriting types or p/t or colors or whatever and taking advantage of that. Black and white both have a minor history of imposing their own colors.
UR - This is the hardest one since the whole premise is basically Izzet already, and almost any of the factions could have worked in these colors. Only thing I can think of is a parody Izzet group that is like a stupid dragon served by a bunch of smart wizards or something. Or I guess you could just literally have a group of Izzet who ended up in this world though some experiment they did.
BG - Some sort of junkyard collective, similar to the sentient trash computer thing they build in Perdido Street Station by China Mieville. I think there are lots of Un-ways to take advantage of the graveyard that haven't been explored yet, like seeding cards in opponent's graveyards or mini-games involving graveyard cards.
RW - At first I thought Dwarf military engineers, but that might be too close to the Kaladesh dwarfs? Santa's Workshop toy-building gnomes is another idea that fits the literal color scheme and could explore strong positive emotions as a red/white we don't usually get to see. Mechanical theme of donating permanents (like Bronze Bombshell), exchanging control and so on.
GU - Unfortunately they kind of used the best idea here for GW. I guess plant-based contraptions are the obvious route here?
Love white-black faux-Apple and black-green trashpicking hoboes.
Blue-red: Disney/Willy Wonka/X-men villain Arcade - Makers of secretly deadly items themed around fun and leisure, headquartered in a huge theme park.
Red-white: Not just Dwarves, but Gnomes and Kithkin; leaning hard into the Germanic stereotypes by being jolly makers of toys, intricate clocks, and other such things while also being carousing drunks who want everyone to party equally hard.
Green-blue: Damn dirty hippies with "psychedelic" Contraptions, a la Yellow Submarine.
Great ideas! Here are my thoughts, some are pretty similar to yours already.
WB - Greed company who try to monopolize the market and make everyone... except themselves, of course, equal. Makes something like servo tokens and makes your opponents sacrifice or tax things that aren't inline with their product.
RU - the easiest imo because these colors are Izzet and they care about artifacts and experiments that do wild things... but that's too easy. We could follow this same trend of mad scientists, or if we want we could go with airship pirates and explorers? I think an Izzet feel but focusing more on time magic could be cool as well. Red is all about speeding up time and blue is all about slowing it down... or any whacky things the two could do combined!
BG - Another easy one. I like the massive scrapyard idea involving lots of Golgari like things but with a bit more machine based technology involved. I like a recycling and scrapyard theme for them. I think of cards like Scrap Trawler. Feels like Dredge could make a comeback here on a whacky card, kind of like Storm on Crow Storm!
WR - Stealing a bit from Kaladesh, I like the idea of heroic vehicle riders running around on contraptions in the streets. Fast and Furious. Maybe even some advanced weapon builders... Maybe they make giant mech suits like Titanfall and brawl it out like gladiators? Yeah!
GU - As said before, crossbreed labs kind of stole the thunder from simic. But I think another idea here would be counters and the manipulation of counters to do really weird things. I was thinking maybe like a virus or a germ type of science, where you can manipulate, grow, and transform things by using contraptions to fuel your germ!
Tomorrow I'll post some custom card designs for each of my proposed factions to see how they feel.
Each color pair sought to capture the most comedic aspects of its pair. I got a couple:
WB Ritzyglitz Society
Ridiculously wealthy and tacky. Like, covered in jewelry and wearing overdecorated suits and dresses with all manner of superfluous frills, laces, embroidery, plumes, etc. Their jewelry has jewelry. Here there be Gold tokens. Lots and lots of Gold tokens. Shoot, lots of Gold artifacts in general: Gold Golems, Gold Equipment, Gold Vehicles...
RW Comrades of Justice
Over-the-top superheroes. If Agents of S.N.E.A.K. were James Bond and Carmen Sandiego, these guys are Iron Man and Wonder Woman. Problem is, they don't exactly have a knack for subtlety, and so approach every problem, no matter how miniscule, with dramatic gusto.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
WB: Mobsters. They have to be mobsters (all about "The Family"), but with a twist. How about... instead of 'godfathers' they have 'godmothers', like the fairy kind. Yes, fairies are usually U (and B), but Cinderella's godmother feels very white.
Rachel, Godmother Supreme4WB
Creature - Fairy Angel Mobster
Flying, Vigilance 3WB, T: Target opponent pays you 1 life.
At the beginning of each end step, if you were paid life this turn, draw a card (your are paid life in effects that have you gain as much life as an opponent loses.)
4/5
UR Likewise, I think these should be Pirates, with a twist. Maybe art pirates? (UR as in creativity) with sails as canvas, maybe materializing their art as elementals? Their 'master contraption' would be a giant ship.
GB, mmmm... evil plants, haunted woods... how about Witches and Witch Doctors? With brooms of living wood, and with carnivorous plants as minions? Their master contraption, a huge cauldron with roots for legs, and witches flying all around.
WR: This one is hard. How about Clerics of Fire. Plus Monks for variety. A warring sort of religion with flaming weapons and fists. A lot less space for funny, but hey, they get goblins too. Edit: Ok, an additional idea: "The Way of the Unsquelchable Phoenix" so they try various flying contraptions and rockets to emulate their divinity.
GU: Another hard one, trying to get away from mutants got me into cyborgs, but that's the order of the widget. So how about Librarians? With minions made from paper (that's wood) and leather (animals!) Of course, their magic books can fly and summon stuff. Their contraption, a huge tree library with flying magic books all around.
UR
THEMATICALLY: Time Travelers. (That's all I got.)
MECHANICALLY: A faction too swingy / time consuming for black border, relying on mini-games, extra turns, extra phases, etc. Denied turns, phases, etc for opponents.
GU
THEMATICALLY: Undeveloped and bandoned tribes such as Hominids, Badgers, Trilobites, Antelope, Moles, etc working together as a tribe of one.
MECHANICALLY: The "mental Magic" faction in which, at an appointed time, the card becomes a copy of any card with the same type and cmc (card named by the caster).

One person's trash is a Wastenaut's treasure. The Wastenauts are pros at building makeshift contraptions out of old pots, pans, and other discarded tools and appliances. But fun?
What card would you name for the green one?
Birds of Paradise or Scythe Tiger are what you'd get most of the time, tbh. And no, not fun - printing this ability means the GU player just gets what they want at all times and can play a deck with no variance.
In the chaotic Casino world of Unpacked, you're never sure what cards are on the table. You play with your deck of Magic cards, as normal- but you also play with a deck of playing cards with Magic card backs, which acts as a second library, or shoe! And with every card in Unpacked doubling up as a playing card, you're sure to end up ahead of the game- you just won't always be sure what game, exactly.
WBRough DiamondsWB
The white/black faction's primary suit is diamonds. Their goal is getting rich, and doing it by slyly tilting the odds in their favour. A lot of their cards revolve around making players play games which the Rough Diamonds are more likely to win.
Bloody Stake 2B Artifact- Equipment Sorcery
Stake— Highest card wins. Add two to revealed diamonds. (As you cast this, each player may lay a card in their hand face-down in front of them. They flip it up when this resolves.)
Each player who lost the stake loses 2 life. Each player who won it gains 2 life. [FOUR OF DIAMONDS]
UGThe Cardcastle ClubUG
The blue/green faction's primary suit is clubs. They like building creations out of huge numbers of cards, but sometimes things get a bit...
Out of Hand 6UG
Sorcery
Each player may reveal any number of playing cards in their hand, then put all cards revealed in this way onto the battlefield as colourless Card creature tokens. They have power and toughness equal to their value. (Face cards are worth 10, and Aces are worth 1.) [TWO OF CLUBS]
WRBlede 'n HartsWR
The white/red faction's primary suit is hearts. They love playing cards, and want to play as much as possible- but sometimes their love hurts in ways they don't quite realise.
King Blede N. Marvellous 2RW
Legendary Creature-Heart King
Everyone wins all stakes.
Whenever an opponent who would have won a stake wins along with everyone else, they may draw a card from your shoe. "You're in luck, Kamahl!" [KING OF HEARTS]
BGThe Spadeshovel FlopBG
The black/green faction's primary suit is spades. The Flop is always using their spades to dig things out of their graveyards, which can lead to them falling foul of the Casino's dress (and smell) code.
Craps Player 1BG
Creature-Zombie Spade
Whenever you would raise a stake, you may use a playing card in your graveyard. If you do, exile it after the stake concludes. "That's not what that means." —Frazzled Editor
2/4 [FIVE OF SPADES]
URThe Big SuitsUR
The red/blue faction don't need a suit! They call the shots in the Casino, and they rose to power in the old-fashioned way: by cheating as much as they possibly can.
Up my Sleeve U
Interrupt
You may cast Up your Sleeve after a stake is raised but before it's revealed to discard your stake and replace it with this. "'Course it's legal. We're in a silver-bordered district." [FOURTEEN OF DIAMONDS]

I want to build a full set of it. Like, right now. Wow.
I like some of the ideas being thrown here.
My votes go to:
WB
Money-grabber company. They are just want to sell you everything they can.
UR
I like the mad science of izzet and the bohemian flavor of pirates. So I propose medieval alchemists. They try to find correlation between non-rrelated events, they like astrology and coincidences and weird asociations. Sounds goofy and it could translate into fun gameplay. They build Renaissance styled machines, goldberg machines, impossible geometries and use alchemy.
GB
Scrapyards, salvagers, recycling. They build stuff with used and discarded stuff.
WR
These have to be the James Bonds that fight the BR faction.
UG
I'm propossing something different: stereotipical aliens. Flying saucers, traction beams, badly undercover agents, world conquering invasion plans, etc. I think this would be a really fun concept full of tropes to explore.
