This post could go here, or it could go into the Baseless Speculation area - either way, let's get some crazy ideas of what a Mythic would look and feel like for the 3rd Un-set, Unstable.
So, w/ the last 2 Un-sets, there were no mythics. Now they have a chance to really get banal.. What ideas do we have?
This is my idea:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Word: Playah Hatah 5WWUUBBRRGG
Sorcery
Remove any player sitting at your table from their game.
They lose their current game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure, it's viscous, but that's what makes it a mythic. You could about to win a match, and *poof* you now lost. I guess this can lead to a table flip, so there would have to be a flip side to benefit the player, such as they can chose to get a "buy" for the next round, or the player casting Power Word: Playah Hatah also loses the round. I've had this crazy idea for years now, but when mentioning it among friends I would get either blank stares or scoffs.
Any other ideas of what would be absolutely mythic in proportions for a goofy, joke set?
Untouchable
Sorcery [Mythic]
Target player skips his or her next untap step and draw step. That player may not touch his or her cards until the beginning of your next upkeep
Unspeakable
Sorcery [Mythic]
Target player may not speak until your next upkeep (he or she must still indicate all actions being taken as normal).
Unstoppable
Sorcery [Mythic]
Unstoppable cannot be countered.
Target creature gains trample and has "whenever you take a step forward, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature" until end o turn (walking in place does not count).
Unforgivable
Sorcery [Mythic]
Return target creature card from an opponent's graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. Remove that card from any sleeves or protectors it is held in until it leaves the battlefield.
Unmanageable
Sorcery [Mythic]
Unmanageable deals 5 damage to each creature. target opponent or creature you don't control, chosen at random. If creatures damaged in this way would die this turn, exile them instead. You must hold any creature cards exiled in this way for as long as they remain exiled.
Changed Unmanageable. Now it's a board wipe that forces you to hold all of the creatures you kill with it. If there's enough creatures out there, the ability can get a bit... out of hand
Playah Hatah is prone to just get cheated out with effects like Mizzix's Mastery. It's also not really funny at all.
Untouchable and Unspeakable should clarify what happens if the player does something the card says they can't; the white one should probably be that they lose the game, but the blue one should probably cost more if that's the case.
Unstoppable should cost one or two more. Primal Surge and Omniscience costs 10. This card is probably weaker than both, but doesn't really need to be built around and can't be countered. It's also probably the least funny.
Unforgivable is funny by itself, but it implies something about how the caster should treat the card that I think would not be appreciated by most players. You could always scoop in response, I suppose.
Why can Unmanageable damage a player if nothing funny or interesting happens as a result?
Also I feel like the blue one would be a lot funnier if it was a variation on split second/last word.
i.e.
"Counter target spell.
Your opponents cannot cast spells, activate abilities, or speak as long as Unspeakable is on the stack."
