The ability of several of these Hour of Devastation spoilers that reads
"...that player [bad effect] unless he or she sacrifices a permanent or discards a card."
It's something I was playing around with very recently, and even though I eventually settled on exactly this wording, I thought it still sounded silly, and scrapped the idea. Of course, before posting about it in this thread, I did a quick search, and discovered Wizards is actually just reusing an old ability from Visions. So I guess I've got nothing to brag about after all, heh heh.
Unstable has you roll two dice and find the difference. I had a similar idea to roll two dice and find matching values between the two results.
ex.
Orgasmic Ultimatum RRWWWBB
Sorcery
Roll two 10-sided dice. Bury all permanents with converted mana costs between the two dice values, inclusive. Each player loses 1 life for each permanent he or she controlled buried this way.
iiw: Create an EDH general AKA Commander. I know, I know, this challenge has been done plenty of times. But here's the twist: Also create two "sub-commanders" that are meant to be played with your commander. Each of the sub-commanders should be a legendary creature that shares one or more colors with its commander or is colorless. They are meant to be cast from the command zone just like their commander.
Damage dealt by sub-commanders contributes to the 21-commander-damage kill rule and is not counted separately but collectively.
The "respawn" cost is also shared. Whenever your commander or one of the sub-commanders returns to the command zone the cost to recast each of them (all of them) is increased by 2.
^similar to the idea of the Partners from the Commander 2016 set

i also created, but haven't posted here, a card pretty much the same as Cruel Entertainment, except it was both blue n black. and it traded control of an opponent's next turn for that player's control of your next turn, instead of any two players.
prior to the original innistrad n its werewolves being released i had an idea in my head about a mechanic that turned on and off based on whether you cast 2+ or 0 spells each turn.
Faerie Aerie is somewhat like a sorcery i made called Ophidian Swarm that for 2GG made three 1/1 Snakes with haste that each draw you a card if they damaged an opponent n they died at end step, but didn't fly of course.
i also made a minotaur called Lord of the Labyrinth a long time ago that worked much like Archangel of Tithes
Last strike. A few months ago, I thought of a Cryomancer that whenever it dealt damage to a creature, that creature would get "frozen" or something and dealt combat damage after other creatures.

Isolate - No, I didn't invent it but I was complaining about black colour gaining Fatal push and bunch of other 2mana destroy spells and how little love white colour got in 1mana spell department and then WotC print this beauty! Thank you!!!
Revitalize - I believe you can find my "Insight from Beyond" here: If Wizards did see and use my card as an inspiration I just want to say thank you first and I hope that in future there will be a single white mana cantrip similar to this one (for modern purposes ofcourse)

snap caster mage! I entered the the creator contest in 2003 or 2004 and it’s a card I submitted before dropping in the contest. Years later I noticed it in a magic set.
Just some notes but almost 2 of 3 abilities on Serra, from last May.
Not very close on Windgrace but I guess his ultimate is in the vein of "creatures destroy artifacts". I would have made him Mardu colors anyway.
Can't wait for Daria to come out

I was referring to the static ability followed by two negative loyalty abilities.
As a side note, I might actually be more than zero percent interested in the story line if Garruk unexpectedly showed up and completely ****ed up Bolas.
Also, my Swarm mechanic is similar in essence to Embalm.
