There's no specific point, that's just how the card is.
I'm not guaranteeing you've got a deck that would play it. I know I do, and it starts with Alu- and ends with -ren
But you're right, sometimes you'll just use it for green mana, or even colorless... or you'll just let the mana drain out of your pool at end of phase. Not every part, of every ability, of every card, is useful every time you draw it - and I think that's okay.
Is your silence on the other two cards an indication or your approval? Or did you just not have enough time to comment on them as well?
Compost Elemental - 2GG
Creature - Elemental (U)
When Compost Elemental dies, add four mana of any color combination to your mana pool.
4/4
No real problem, other than one-shot mana production doesn't show up in green much now.
NAME - GGG
Creature - Elemental (R)
When NAME enters the battlefield, add three mana of any color combination to your mana pool.

At 3/3 I fear green decks dropping out 2 of these turn 2 off a mana dork. Bit more aggro than I think anything should have. Note that the creatures that have done this before were all small (didn't bother to look that up, I could be wrong), so dropping a swarm of them once their cost was hit wasn't too dangerous. At that size, it starts hitting the fast aggro clock with more than 1.
Llanowar's Beloved - G
Legendary Creature - Elf Druid (R)
At the beginning of each player's precombat main phase, add G to your mana pool.

Um... Magus of the Vineyard, but legendary and only 1 mana instead of 2? I don't think anyone uses the Magus now that he can't mana burn an unprepared player.
Wow, reading is tech. Seems fine then, but it needs a better name if it's going to be legendary.

I believe the difference is that this one is one-sided. Only the controller ever gets the green mana.
The first one is fine. The second is fine but Candlejack's point regarding the limiting nature of the card contrasting the broad nature of the ability does create a point of contention; the card is arguably inelegant as is. I could see the card being changed at the development level because it could be awkward for some players. The last card doesn't need to be Legendary (nor does it feel Legendary) and I think the ability would be better served by only activating during your own turn; a mana elf that can still make mana and attack would be a pretty solid card.

A bit like Su-Chi.

Priest of Urabrask could be green (and a bit better), couldn't it?

I like her but I'm not 100% sure on the power level.
Thanks
