So... a decent flier, a powerful burn spell, and a land based walker.
Lifeforce Explosion is definitely above the power level that Wizards prints, but straightup lifegain spells that see print have always been absolute crap(with the rare exception of when you have a serra ascendant in your deck). I doubt it'll be a top pick.

Yeah, but it puts your opponent on a 4 turn clock. 3 if you went first. Once you hit the point where you can play this, you essentially doubled your life total and you pretty much won. And Whitesun's Passage costs half as much as this and only gives a quarter as much life. At least, it should have CMC 7.
I don't know about type, but raritywise we just need to balance out what we have so far, another couple green rares and uncommons, one more mythic for blue and black, maybe even another rare for black and red.
Rest for the Weary is a better analog for your point, gaining and costing close to half what Explosion does. It's one of the lowest picks in the entire set. Insane amounts of lifegain like that aren't as powerful as they look because if you're losing, they don't do anything to stop your opponent's threats. I'd much rather have any of the other rares posted so far in my deck than the Explosion, but it does get the shocked reaction I was going for, so I'm not going to change it.

I think the counts are off on some of these because the math doesn't add up correctly. Let's just throw one more blue mythic, two green rares, and a green uncommon in and then I'll start the patch. the fact that black has two more uncommons than any other color means that ithas a 5% chance of appearing more often than other colors, but unless someone wants to remove one of the ones they submitted earlier, I don't think it's worth the effort of making eight new cards to balance things out. Any objections?
Tranquilo, a page ago four of my cards didn't have rarities. how did you count them? Also, did you see that Canabiest found two cards in the set that are identical? Again, nobody's going to veto anybody else's cards, but I want to make sure that everyone knows what they're doing.

There are areas that might be scarce/crowded. It's expected, since it's a community set.
But skimming through the cards, I get the feeling we have LOTS of uncommon removal in black. Naturalize and Card draw seems scarce, burn seems scarce.
Tranquilo, the cards we have already are all we'll play with this time through. I'm not allowing any more to be added because putting the set together is only half of this project, and we need to keep moving forward.
The MWS patch that I have in the OP doesn't convert correctly to netdraft, and I have to figure out why. You can help with that if you want. This is the Perl script I'm using, and these are the two commands you type into your command prompt to start the script:
cd C:\Magic\Spellcraft (replace with the location of the text spoiler)
perl mws2nd.pl -i input.txt -o output.nd -m M -n 2 (replace input with the name of the text spoiler, replace output with the name you want the netdraft patch to have)
I had to install a Perl framework or something to make the script work, so I don't know if this is something just anyone can try.

Yeah, but it puts your opponent on a 4 turn clock. 3 if you went first. Once you hit the point where you can play this, you essentially doubled your life total and you pretty much won. And Whitesun's Passage costs half as much as this and only gives a quarter as much life. At least, it should have CMC 7.

Rest for the Weary is a better analog for your point, gaining and costing close to half what Explosion does. It's one of the lowest picks in the entire set. Insane amounts of lifegain like that aren't as powerful as they look because if you're losing, they don't do anything to stop your opponent's threats. I'd much rather have any of the other rares posted so far in my deck than the Explosion, but it does get the shocked reaction I was going for, so I'm not going to change it.

There are areas that might be scarce/crowded. It's expected, since it's a community set.
But skimming through the cards, I get the feeling we have LOTS of uncommon removal in black. Naturalize and Card draw seems scarce, burn seems scarce.
If anyone has a spare time, would you mind counting the staples?
Black discard, black removal, naturalize, card draw, recursion, burn, land destruction, flying and regeneration are the ones that come to mind. Oh, and sweepers.

The MWS patch that I have in the OP doesn't convert correctly to netdraft, and I have to figure out why. You can help with that if you want. This is the Perl script I'm using, and these are the two commands you type into your command prompt to start the script:
cd C:\Magic\Spellcraft (replace with the location of the text spoiler)
perl mws2nd.pl -i input.txt -o output.nd -m M -n 2 (replace input with the name of the text spoiler, replace output with the name you want the netdraft patch to have)
I had to install a Perl framework or something to make the script work, so I don't know if this is something just anyone can try.
