Kaervek's Arsenal 4RR
Enchantment
Whenever you cast Kaervek's Arsenal or another red spell, you may have Kaervek's Arsenal deal X damage to target creature or player, where X is that spell's converted mana cost. "Fuel for the fire? Oh, if only they knew. This is much bigger than any fire."
-Kaervek
Renewal Retinue 4GG
Creature - Elf Druid (4/5)
Whenever you cast Renewal Retinue or another green spell, you may add X green mana to your mana pool, where X is that spell's converted mana cost. They roam around the forest looking for blights.
Then they fix them right up.
Should the Arsenal say "another red spell" so that I might one day complete a cycle with them? Sure! And is the Elf gang costed high enough to allow a ridiculous ability like that to stand?
Renewal Retinue is potentially dangerous; making your green spells essentially free spells sounds like it might be broken, though I haven't found anything specific yet... except for multiple copies of this...
Channel the Suns turns 4 mana into 9; Manamorphose turns 2 into 4 and a card. Glimpse of Nature means the Elf combo deck has self-sustaining fuel basically forever. Omnath barely has to worry about shrinking.
All those interactions seem fine by me, and in line with what Development has the 6 slot doing.
White: "...you may put X 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens on the battlefield"? Probably also with another static ability a la Mobilization, "Soldier creatures you control have first strike." If it were a creature itself it would tread too closely on Captain of the Watch.
Blue: "...you may scry X. If you do, draw a card." At its most basic, this is Recycle without the drawbacks and with card selection (plus a cantrip), in exchange for not triggering from lands or nonblue spells. As a 6-mana sorcery-speed spell, if a deck like MUC wanted to play it, it would fill a strange role: like that of a relief pitcher in baseball (who helps the team win) but not a closer (who actually ends it). Probably could construct a flavor that would make it a colored artifact.
Black: "...you may return target creature card with converted mana cost X or less from your graveyard to the battlefield." Simple enough, but the question is do I want this to be a second creature in the cycle (probably 4/4, maybe with intimidate) or would that make Dredge Return's job too easy?
