Now that I have finished the Aeon Origins block. I am now going to work on the mess that was my first set ever, Mythos of Kamigawa. I will be splitting the set into two set that will make up the entire block. Similar to the peanut block, difference being that the story will not stretch beyond two sets. Both sets will be of equal size about 230.
Since the original design of this set was multicolor based I will continue with that but will do as Shadowmoor and Eventide was done, by splitting up Ally and Enemy colors between the two sets.
Here are two designs from Birth of Kamigawa these are brand spankin' new. I am kinda undecided on the quality of these rarity and cost wise maybe effect wise I have some other ideas for possible changes, so a good debate on those would be appreciated. Enjoi.
I see a few problems with Wanned by the Beyond. First, Time Spiral block and very old sets aside, blue does not get permanent destruction of any kind and black can't kill artifacts or enchantments. Second, you can't sacrifice a permanent you don't control. Third, what the heck does "Wanned" mean? My best guess, given the art, is "made pale" but turning adjectives into verbs is generally a no-no in english.

A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
Well this is my set and I will slice the abilities of each color as I see fit, but not haphazardly and not without flavor reasons.
You are correct. Wan means "made pale" "drained of color or hue". Which can be used as I have.
Mtgwise is similar to being drained of life/color giving mana/lifeforce, similar to being on ones deathbed, any unnecessary exertion causes collapse of life and the person dies, building crumbles, ect...
I really wish that you would at least try to stick to the color pie, bankai. I realize that its your set. I realize that its not real. but the color pie is there for a reason, and its division of mechanics is more or less reasonable. That's not to say that its not totally reasonable to move a mechanic to a color, but that mechanic needs to fit with the "mindset" of the color.
But there's absolutely no reason for you to totally redefine a color for your set. There is no reason, flavor or otherwise, that that card should not function perfectly well as a RB or GB gold card. It might even work as a hybrid.
It is, however, not blue. And it never should be. Change your things to fit the game, not the other way around.
That and the name and effect are terrible matches.
Wanned is "to be made wan" or pale. That doesn't really imply destroyed at all.
And "triggered ability is triggered" is ugly. You should just remove it all together, since this is just land destruction or half an arrest 90% of the time anyways.
@ryzorz
Thank you for your recommendation. I will take your opinion into consideration of my tendency to assign abilities to colors of my choice with reason.
Now for the next element for this intro into BOK.
In the original set for this block I made two abilities Ki Mastery and Chi Mastery. They changes quite a bit over and over and in the end I had very simplistic mana related abilities. When I came back to this set after making an entire block. I realized these abilities wouldn't make for a fun element. So I deleted Chi Mastery which had been reduced to "This creature has "T: Add one mana to you mana pool of any color that shares a color with this creature."
Ki Mastery I wanted to keep, but it had been reduced to a colored mana chroma affinity. (Ki Mastery B (This creature cost B less to play for each B symbol in the mana cost of permanents you control.)
Another design I thought was under my standards of creativity.
I redesigned this ability to bring me the ability I present now.
Is there any specific reason it wasn't just "Sacrifice ~: You may play an instant or sorcery card with converted mana cost X or less from your hand without paying its mana cost."?
I would ignore abuse because there are so many abused designs extended is also the least or second least common format, so much so that its nearly causal. Here is the reworded version.

I realized this after I posted it. The shuffle goes a long way to keeping it balanced. I'd make it an uncommon or rare though.

Cycling {cost} ({cost}, discard this card: draw a card.)
along with the other cycling variants, {prefix}cycling (landtype, sliver), reinforce, and transmute
there is also transfigure.
Ki Mastery is also super abusable thanks to timespiral block's no-cost cards.
