My brother thought of this, but I'm posting it for him. I thought it was relatively creative. I posted somewhere else with no response. I'd like any feedback you have. Obviously this would need some theme fitting...
Rotting Forest
Land (U) T: Add G to your mana pool and put a depletion counter on Rotting Forest.
When Rotting Forest has 3 depletion counters on it, flip it.
T: Add G to your mana pool and put a depletion counter on Rotting Forest.
When Rotting Forest has 3 depletion counters on it, it becomes a Swamp. (This effect lasts indefinitely.)
Functionally more elegant version of the original card, without flipping:
Rotting Forest
Land
~ enters the battlefield with three depletion counters on it.
:symtap:, Remove a depletion counter from Rotting Forest: Add to your mana pool.
When there are no depletion counters on Rotting Forest, sacrifice it. If you do, search your library for a basic Swamp card and put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library.
Ive posted some cards like this before. I only remember one of them.
Druidic Circle
Land T: Add G to your mana pool. 4GG: Flip Druidic Circle.

YOU ARE SURPRISED BY A MANTICORE! IT QUICKLY SHREDS YOUR FLESH AND DEVOURS YOU!
Its an idea that comes up frequently, not allways the same but yea.
Some "flip" lands use flip and "unflip" to switch the sides over and over, like this one:
Light Palace
Legendary Light Land - Palace
You may play ~ flipped. T: Add W to your manapool. Flip ~.
//
Night Palace
Legendary Dark Land - Palace T: Add B to your manapool. Unflip ~.
I made such a card in a set that was a lot about "good/evil" as everything has a good side and a bad side, i used different Supertypes for that like "Light" / "Dark" and introduced a "Day/Night" idea to the game that changes cards according to it.
Overall the flip cards give a wonderfull "artwork" design, as it shows 1 artwork in 2 different views (upside down) which is perfect for such an concept.
However, the set isnt finished , but its overall a great thing, especially as i like it a lot more to have an artwork and an actual card for something if it really changes it (for example an vampire that really "turns" into a bat, flip cards make it possible, or an Human that turns into a Werewolf, i have even a Wizard that turns into a Dragon, the concept of flip is so much better to express that on cards than using the simpel text that says its now a Dragon, but actual you still have the same random artwork and card).
So while the idea is great, i think its important that the flip idea covers an important flavour aspect, like Kamigawa did with its idea that normal creatures turn into legends by their actions and impact on the game.
actually i got a problem with the fact that the flip side is a basic land...
you should rather make it just land - swamp, and the first side land - forest and then add the rest of the text.
anyways, i like the idea of a land the flips and then produces other kind of mana. would be awesome when, for example, you play a BG-Deck, which uses green to accelerate and then black to finish off your opponent. at the beginning the land would produce the G that is needed to cast spells like Rampant Growth, and later you should have enough forests as well as swamps that this additional B helps casting black spells with more black than colorless mana in their casting cost...keep it up^^
I like it. I personally like the flavor of flip cards, although I think it should be something more along the lines of flipping at the beginning of your upkeep for both sides.

I think it's interesting and flavorful.

Green could have a druid that could remove depletion counters and flip a card, or remove a depletion counter, etc.
White could gain life when lands flip
Blue could bounce permanents when they flip a land
Black could cause life loss with flip, or pay life to flip
Red could destroy lands with depletion counters, etc.
you should rather make it just land - swamp, and the first side land - forest and then add the rest of the text.
