With tonight's tale demonstrating that Alara Reborn will be very multicolored... so here's a smattering of things I made up, starting with my thought on the preview for ARB:
Ardent Plea (Uncommon)
1WU
Enchantment
Exalted
Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, if it attacked alone this turn, you may draw a card.
Deathtemperer (Rare)
2UBR
Creature - Human Wizard
3/3
Unearthed creatures you control get +3/+3.
Unearth 1BB
Remnant of Bant
Land
Remnant of Bant comes into play tapped.
T: Add W to your mana pool.
W, T, Sacrifice a creature: Target creature attacking alone gains protection from the color of your choice until end of turn.
Remnant of Esper
Land
Remnant of Esper comes into play tapped.
T: Add U to your mana pool.
U, T, Sacrifice an creature: Return target artifact from your graveyard to your hand.
Remnant of Grixis
Land
Remnant of Grixis comes into play tapped.
T: Add B to your mana pool.
B, T, Sacrifice a creature: Return target creature from your graveyard to your hand.
Remnant of Jund
Land
Remnant of Jund comes into play tapped.
T: Add R to your mana pool.
R, T, Sacrifice a creature: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.
Remnant of Naya
Land
Remnant of Naya comes into play tapped.
T: Add G to your mana pool.
G, T, Sacrifice a creature: Search your library for a basic land card and put it into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.
Visions of Vithia Lost (Rare)
4WUR
Sorcery
Search your library for a white card, blue card, or red card and play it without paying its mana cost. Shuffle your library.
Ardent Plea = Looks pretty good. Could easily cost WU, I think.
Deathtemperer = I'm not sure if the unearth cost is enough since he would be a 6/6, right?
Poison-Claw Leotau = Probably could cost 1 less if you wanted.
Visful Zombie = This also seems a bit weak. It could get another small ability.
Tirel's Vanguard = Again, I think it could cost a little less. Looks good other than that.

Some of these are overcosted because of Limited and power curve, blahblahblah you know what I'm getting at. Especially in the case of the Vanguard where you likely have a 6/6 (if not higher) with lifelink and trample. It needs to cost 7 at the minimum. The zombie is one of those things I don't think they've done yet that could possibly sneak into the set as a common filler (poor Windwright Mage) but also plays well with Eventide.
Hmmm... well, how about this one, which may or may not be the actual printed text of our preview card:
Ardent Plea1WU
Enchantment
Sacrifice Ardent Plea: If target permanent is put into a graveyard from play this turn, return it to play under your control.
Visions could be like a Chord of Calling, I suppose:
Chord of Desire:xmana::symw::symu::symr:
Sorcery
Search your library for a white, blue, and/or red card with converted mana cost X or less and remove that card from the game. Until end of turn, you may play that card without paying its mana cost. (If it has X in its mana cost, X is 0.)
Other than that, this card seems :symu::symb::symr:, :symg::symu::symb:, or maybe even :symu::symb::symr::symg:. Not really white, unless you count the Rebels.
EDIT: @luminum_can: "When" instead of "if," and it works. Like a reverse Grave Peril + free choice.
Rather than make a new thread, I figured I'd baby-necro this... since it's on the same topic. Tonight's/this-morning's tale is brought to you by the Borderpost cycle, which I have since concluded will somehow be mana-fixers:
Fieldmist Borderpost
WU
Artifact
T: Add W or U to your mana pool.
T, Sacrifice Fieldmist Borderpost: Search your library for a Forest or a Swamp card and put it into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.
Mistvein Borderpost
UB
Artifact
T: Add U or B to your mana pool.
T, Sacrifice Mistvein Borderpost: Search your library for a Plains or a Mountain card and put it into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.
Veinfire Borderpost
BR
Artifact
T: Add B or R to your mana pool.
T, Sacrifice Veinfire Borderpost: Search your library for an Island or a Forest card and put it into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.
Firewild Borderpost
RG
Artifact
T: Add R or G to your mana pool.
T, Sacrifice Firewild Borderpost: Search your library for a Swamp or a Plains card and put it into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.
Wildfield Borderpost
GW
Artifact
T: Add G or W to your mana pool.
T, Sacrifice Wildfield Borderpost: Search your library for a Mountain or an Island card and put it into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.
I'm not going to try and explain the flavor of these, at all, since it'll be a bit hard for me to do so (it's along the lines of "the borderlands involve the shared mana of the merged shards; the nonborderlands - ie, sac'ing the borderpost - involves the mana that isn't shared of the two merged shards). I consider the tutoring of land as a semi-given, when you consider Domain and playing well with Conflux, despite the massive amount of land tutoring we have already.
On a different bit of creation/speculation: they could just be functional reprints of the Cameo cycle from invasion (Bloodstone Cameo etc.).
And now for more/new stuff! I was apparently in an enchantment mood.
Echoes of Sundering (Mythic)
WUBRG
Enchantment
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player sacrifices a land, creature, artifact, and enchantment.
Bind to Progenitus (Uncommon?)
WUBRG
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature gets +2/+2, gains vigilance, shroud and trample, and has "Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, draw two cards."
The borderpost cycle's not bad, but having colored artifacts that aren't Esper doesn't really fit the Alara block, I think. They seem like a decent use for the Fortify mechanic, though, since they're sitting on a land.
I like Echoes of Sundering flavor-wise.
Gargantuan Blessing is fairly weak compared to the Lorwyn auras - maybe have it give a P/T boost, or make it return itself from the graveyard.
Deathtemperer (Rare)
2UBR
Creature - Human Wizard
3/3
Unearthed creatures you control get +3/+3.
Unearth 1BB
What is an unearthed creature?
Visions of Vithia Lost (Rare)
4WUR
Sorcery
Search your library for a white card, blue card, or red card and play it without paying its mana cost. Shuffle your library.
Vithia was once the land of a part-White culture?

An unearthed creature is a creature that came into play by way of playing its unearth ability. This is arguably defined, since Unearth's qualities affect a creature that was played via Unearth, since it receives the RFG-if-it-leaves-play/RFG-at-EOT characteristics from Unearth itself (the FAQ defines the "RFG no matter what" clause as the "unearth effect"). At worst, you could just stick reminder text clarifying. Memory issues aren't really a problem here (just ask summoning sickness) since the issue goes away by the time your turn ends, particularly if the creature would go away with the turn.
Vithia was basically a kingdom (in "Old Alara") whose lands encompassed a good chunk of what is now Grixis. The inhabitants rapidly fell into decline/undeath/demon-slaves once white mana was lost due to Alara shattering into the five shards. Vithians apparently had issues with necromancers in the past, who became substantially harder to deal with after it split away from the rest of Alara. All in all, the Planeswalker's Guide to Alara suggests the Vithia had a good thing going with white mana.
An unearthed creature is a creature that came into play by way of playing its unearth ability.
Okay.
There are no such creatures. In every possible game state (with history), no creature permanent exists because of its unearth ability.

Unearth has only two qualities: The activation cost, and the quality of being the unearth ability (moaning philosophers aside). On the stack it has the property of coming from its particular source.
As for those effects, no effect has ever sought another before. Effects are allowed to talk of visible signifiers (characteristics, counters, status, zones, control), not each other. Only the rules handle their interaction.
But the problem is more concretely shown unsolvable than this: The effects you name are continuous effects that alter the rules of the game. They are applied last among all continuous effects. They do not exist to be found by any hypothetical continuous effect that altered a creature's power and toughness i.e. an object's characteristics.
Cool tips about Vithia.

On the other hand, we've had cards defined in terms of using them via their ability/-ies. Key point: "suspended" cards. They explicitly defined a card as suspended in the rules*, which is to say "a card used via Suspend", in short. They can easily do the same for "unearthed" as part of the FAQ entry for "Returning Keyword Ability" and/or any card(s) in question that reference the word, obviously meaning "a creature returned to play with its Unearth ability".
* It made it a lot shorter on the card text, for one. Take Timecrafting for example. It would have to say something like this textual monstrosity:
Choose one - Remove X time counters from target permanent or card with suspend that's removed from the game and has a time counter on it; or put X time counters on target permanent with a time counter on it or card with suspend that's removed from the game and has a time counter on it.
Ice Cauldron approves, but I don't think many people do.
Ehhh... it can be made to work, I'm sure, any number of ways:
Deathtemperer (Rare)
2UBR
Creature - Human Wizard
3/3
Whenever a creature comes into play under your control from your graveyard, that creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn.
Unearth 1BB
I don't care much for the borderposts as much. It doesn't seem to make much sense to make a whole cycle of 4 color mana fixing, when it could be bumped up to 5 color fixing.

Bumping again, because I had more things come to mind. These were brought on by the Intro Pack and Orb contents.
Thraximundar (Rare)
5BR
Legendary Creature - Zombie Warrior
5/5
When Thraximundar comes into play, put a legendary 4/4 black and red Zombie Beast creature token named blah into play with haste. Remove that token from the game when Thraximundar leaves play.
Unearth 3BR
Offering to Asha (Uncommon)
3WU
Sorcery
As an additional cost to play Offering to Asha, sacrifice a creature.
Draw X cards, where X is the sacrificed creature's power.
(There'll be more later in the morning, but I'm tired so it's bedtime!)
Thraximundar = This is cool! I like how the name sounds, too.
Offering to Asha = Seems more :symu::symb: than :symu::symw:, along the lines of Skulltap I guess. I also think it could cost a wee bit less. In general, I do like the concept.
MOAR CARDS - because I like playing the guessing game/design based on name:
Captured Sunlight (Common) 1GW
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
When Captured Sunlight comes into play, you gain 3 life.
Enchanted creature gets +2/+2.
Filigree Angel (Rare) 5WWU
Artifact Creature - Angel
6/6
Flying
As long as you control another artifact, damage that would reduce your life to less than 1 reduces it to 1 instead.
Stormcaller's Boon (Common) U
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature has flying and gets +1/+1.
Captured Sunlight = This could easily give +3/+3.
Filigree Angel = A lot like Platinum Angel. Looks pretty good.
Lightning Reaver = I think this could cost a mana less.
Brainbite = What's cascade?
Sanity Gnawers = Pretty cool. Strong, but still fair. Inspired by Blazing Specter, I guess? Ooh, it should totally be a Zombie Rat. :3
Colossal Might = I like it! I think it could easily cost 3RG.
Gorger Wurm = Could be bigger. I'd say at least 5/5.
Captured Sunlight = This could easily give +3/+3.

When Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund comes into play, destroy up to X target creatures, where X is the number of creatures devoured.

Sacrificing a creature to draw cards? That is straight up a black/green mechanic. See Dredge, Greater Good, Lyzolda, the Blood Witch, Psychotrope Thallid, Ragamuffyn, Reprocess, Skullmulcher, Skulltap, and Wall of Mulch. It can be extended to blue as with Perilous Research, Read the Runes, and Mnemonic Sliver, but it is by and far a black/green mechanic.
Filigree Angel = A lot like Platinum Angel. Looks pretty good.
Lightning Reaver = I think this could cost a mana less.
Brainbite = What's cascade?
