This might actually be overcosted. The trigger condition is far more limited than Sadistic Glee (which is cheaper) or even Vampiric Embrace. This should at most be 1B, you might actually be able to get away with it at B.

With no acceleration this can come out turn 5... with something like Birds of Paradise it can hit turn 4. Against some decks this can basically become a game-winning spell and that's a bit early. I'm not sure what can be done to balance it.

Feels a bit blah at 2, but I don't think WotC would ever print a "{T}: Add 1 to your mana pool" card at 1, so it's good.

I didn't think Retaliate was so bad that you could so severely obsolete it. I see this creature as costing at LEAST 6 mana.
Also, make the sage take all nonbasic lands. Then you can a) drop the blue and b) only screw over people with million-dollar manabases. I think basic lands should get more love, not more hate.

Lightning Flare = Awesome little cantrip. I love it.
Aerial Avenger = I would tend to agree it should cost 4WW. Otherwise, cool.

Overgrown Sage = I like the second version. Maybe it should also have "Nonbasic lands you control are basic Forests" for added flavor.
Blinking Chalice = Nice general-use artifact with some synergy potential.

Heh; this is surprisingly more interesting than Spark Elemental; I think its interesting that its an instant, as it gives it a defensive use.

Now Blinking Chalice obsoletes cards from Prismatic Lens to Fire Diamond.
This is true; though there are a number of ways to fix this. Couple of ways that come to mind immediately; making it Legendary, Upping the casting cost by 1 (and letting the blink cost 0), allowing it to create any color of mana the turn it comes into play but only 1 afterwards, or giving it a Tendo Ice Bridge type ability. I'd say of those these I think the second and third forms have the most viability, but I prefer the theme promoted by the third:

The rest are good, I like the second Overgrown Sage, Lightning Flare is my favorite though.
However, I fail to see how Chalice is any good unless you build a set 'round it.

Arial Avenger: I agree with 4WW.
Whisperwood Dryad could maybe cost G and lose Forestwalk, but the Forestwalk is pretty flavorful... I don't know. Maybe as-is is good.
I really like Mago Sanguvita's idea for a Tendo Ice Bridge ability on the Chalice, then it could stay at 2 cc with 1: Return.
