Here'sa cycle of legendary "swords" from my set in progress. The cards probably have balancing/costing issues, so any suggestions would be welcome.

Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage, destroy that many permanents at random.

Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage, put that many 1/1 white Spirit creature tokens with flying into play.

Nightshrieker4
Legendary Artifact — Equipment (R)
Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage, you draw that many cards and lose that much life.

Ragecaller4
Legendary Artifact — Equipment (R)
Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage, distrubute that many +1/+1 counters among any number of target creatures you control.

Stormforger4
Legendary Artifact — Equipment (R)
Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage, return up to X target permanents to their owners' hands, where X is the damage dealt.

actually they are alright except for the fact that, in my opinion, they should deal combat damage to a player, not just combat damage in general.
i wont ruin the legendary attribute about the cards, but they are alright.. but whats special about them to make them legendary? that is just me tho... if i was to make them legendary i would of made them do something like "As long as ~..., {ability}"
but they are fine. i like them...
the Doombringer that i woulda made:

Love the idea and the names although it can clearly be seen that the White and Green ones are Underpowered compared to the rest. Argueably, the Blue one is the best with it's game-locking capabilities but the Black one is great as well. Good job on it, though.
I like the the idea and the mechanics Athani. However I usually only play red and blue and I love random mayhem, especially the type that makes tourney-goers go crazy. Regardless, I like the ideas, I can only hope you can find some apt art for them.

I think they would be cooler if they each had some alternate way to equip.
I was thinking of something like "When Doombringer comes into play, you may attach it to target red creature." (and green for Ragecaller, white for Lightweaver etc.) and then just have a generic equip cost. But I dunno, I kinda like them the way they are.
I like the idea of the color-based equip feature. Another suggestion is just make the equip cost lower for one color, or higher for the others. Just a thought.

Maybe an expensive equip cost and "As long as you control a [basic land type], CARDNAME's equip cost costs less to play." Or however you word that. "CARDNAME costs less to equip?" Meh.
